The Gayle situation is a worry brought on for 30 minutes to replace Mitrovic against Mainz. On the subs bench but not used against Wolfsburg. Then today not even in rhe squad against Verona. I'm not sure playing Spurs in less than a week, relying on Mitrovic as our only striker is a good thing. I'd like to think this will strengthen Rafas hand in regards buying a striker

As i say we'll know better after the Spurs game. Yeah we've played a few friendlies & done ok but playing 90 minutes against Spurs will give us a true test of were we're at.

Ah right got ya now, sorry but i can't help thinking we've a championship team going into the premiership league. Yes Rafa'-s a great manager but its evident he hasn't got the tools he wanted to do the job. I guess we'll know were we are after the Spurs game. A heavy defeat & Ashley may be enticed to throw a few quid in the kitty. A draw or a win could see us not bothering to make further signings. We all know the way Ashley works.

We need rid of about 6/7 possibly more. We'll probably end up paying £100s of thousands of pounds a week for them to train with the kids a couple of times a week.

With 11 days until our first game against Spurs we've yet to sign any proven premiership players.With too many players & nobody wanting to buy or loan (Haidara) them. I know the window doesnt close until 31st August & people are hoping prices will have dropped but by then we'll have played 3 premiership games. IF we dont sign anyone else i think we'll spend the season permantley in the bottom 3 or just dropping in & out of it. Rafa's been talking about a new keeper for a few weeks, we need a new partner for Shelvey. Plus we need a proven striker. We all knew Rafa would have to build a new premiership team if we got promotion. Sadly it looks like he hasn't been allowed to do that unless something dramatic happens over these next few days. If not we're in for a hard struggle until January at least.
