  1. Home games are only going to get worse as the tension ratchets up. We have 5 home & 4 away games left I hope wor home form doesn't make us trip up.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39251254 Sacked by Derby again
  3. We knew it could be a difficult game, and we knew we had to do well at the beginning and not make mistakes," Benitez said. "But we started making mistakes, and we paid for that. "Fulham are a good team - they passed the ball well and they have pace. We were giving the ball away, and that was giving them the chance to play in the way that they like to play. When you have tried and have made mistakes, you have to analyse why. It is not as though the players were not trying in terms of effort. Sometimes, it is just the wrong decision, and that is something we have to improve. "In terms of effort, you could see we were running and working very hard. When we scored the goal, we were pushing and pushing, but we were making too many mistakes in terms of the decisions in the final third. "When you are under pressure and you know you have conceded goals and you have to score and the time is against you, then that is when you have to have more experience and character and make the right decision, and we didn't do it."
  4. Apparently he wasn't allowed but now the rules have changed http://www.themag.co.uk/2017/03/rule-change-see-sports-direct-branding-newcastle-united-shirts/
  5. After getting through the 5 game in 15 days stage with a total of 11 points morale should have been high. Now to get beat 3-1 at home anytime of the season is bad enough. But at this critical phase when points & goals can make the difference to automatically going up or the play - offs. This could well turn out to really hurt us last week it looked like the job was almost done but as each game comes & goes it feels like the GD & points tally are getting narrower& narrower. What happened today ? Player complacency ? Rafa picked the wrong team ? A bit of both ? Whatever it was it needs stamping out now. Both Brighton & Huddersfield despite getting beaten by us last week have shown they're still very much up for the automatic places I just hope we are too.
  6. It'll be Sports Direct he's missed a years worth of free advertising he (Puma) already makes the shirts he might as well have a bleeding big SD sign on them.
  7. Brighton clawing back the goal difference in their last 3 games they've scored 8-0
  8. Honestly if one man ever realised this clubs true potential it's him he loves the place & we love him for that.
  9. Brighton win 3-0 drawing level with us on points also clawing back some of that GD.
  10. Key points from Rafa's presser - Benitez spoke of his one year anniversary and insisted the key thing is that the Magpies keep pushing in the right direction - He also spoke of why he took the job insisting Newcastle are a ‘massive club’, despite being in the Championship - Rafa expects Fulham to attack, making for an open game. He admits he is happy with United’s form but the job isn’t finished yet and is keen to dispose of the Cottagers tomorrow -Injuries: Yedlin, Hayden and Aarons will miss out tomorrow - Benitez says Mitrovic is training well and he needs to continue to work hard to regain his place in the squad. He also believes he could find some form for Serbia in the upcoming international break - Rafa also insists he is keen to address Newcastle’s home form - starting tomorrow
  11. Kevin Keegan: “Football means so much in this region and it is so important that Newcastle get back in the Premier League – I think they’ll do that this year. “They (Newcastle United) will win the league and get back to where they belong. “Then it is tough – but it’s a big enough club to carry it and it has got all that fantastic support. “The club will be there forever – people will come and go but Newcastle United will be there forever. “They are great supporters and even when at their lowest after a bad game on a Saturday and they say they’re not going to go next week…. “Monday comes they are thinking ‘ what will I do?’. “Tuesday comes and they think ‘I’ll probably go again’. “By Wednesday, they’re going to go again.” The bloke really gets it, maybe one day when Ashley does one he'll return in some capacity
  12. Noelie were going to be ok mate as it stands we need 24 points for automatic promotion 27 points to win the league
  13. I could only find this.. April 7th 20161/11 Aleksandar Mitrovic Since moving to Newcastle at the start of the season for a whopping £13m, Mitrovic has failed to galvanise his stuttering side, who face the real threat of relegation from the Premier League. The Serbian international has scored eight goals in his first season in England over 27 games. Not the worst return, but when you consider that the 21-year-old was playing as as lone striker for much of the campaign, eight goals are far too few, especially when Mitrovic has taken 54 shots this year, with a disappointing conversion rate of 14.81%. Stats: Games: 27 Goals: 8 Total Shots: 54 Conversion Rate: 14.81%
  14. http://www.themag.co.uk/2017/03/writing-wall-aleksandar-mitrovic-rafa-benitez-comments-newcastle-united/ Not even travelling. Away in the summer ?
  15. As it stands 25 more points & Huddersfield can't catch us. 28 more points & we go up as League winners Obviously that will change if Brighton & Huddersfield drop points ( we'll need less ) but that's how it looks today if my arithmetic is right
  16. Time for Ashley to start sorting the war chest out for Rafa this summer. We're on our way back & it feels damn good "Howay the lads"
  17. Key points from the presser Rafa: "I remember people saying at the start of the season, 'Rafa needs to address the away form'. Now we need to do it at home" Rafa on Gayle: "He is fine and has trained for three days" Rafa on Huddersfield title chances: "When you start playing for something important you feel the pressure"
