Starting on Monday February 20th & finishing on Tuesday March 7th we have 5 games in 15 days wich will decide our destiny 20th Feb Villa (h) 25th Feb Bristol City (h) 28th Feb Brighton (a) S 4th Mar Huddersfield (a) 7th Mar Reading (a) The first 2 you've got to fancy taking all 6 points it's those 3 away games hopefully we'll do well in the home games & give us a massive confidence boost going in to the Brighton game. I think we could get 2 home wins & 3 draws from that lot I think anything more would be a bonus & anything less could be devastating what do you think lads.

It won't count for nowt if we don't take one of those top 2 positions though. I just don't fancy the play offs as I've said before I don't like them. Top 3 up bottom 3 down that's the way it should be.

Let's say doors are ajar & bridges have been singed wether the damage is irreparable remains to be seen.

As I said before, a simple "Rafa do you see your long term future at Newcastle" at the next press conference. If he swerves that one then we'll have a good idea of how the land lies.

Aye when his name was mentioned I doubted he would come & work for Ashley. But Charnley must have had orders to promise him everything get him signed up, then as usual instead of leaving the bloke to do his job they have to start interfering. Benitez obviously had a long term plan & gave Charnley a list of players he was no doubt looking ahead not just promotion. In the end as we know we signed nobody in the window. In fact to add insult to injury Rafa made it clear he wanted to sign Townsend & we end up getting Sammy back. We may as well enjoy the ride with Rafa in charge as I doubt it's going to be a long one.

I think Ashley's interference may have sullied the waters between him & Benitez. There was mention a couple of weeks ago of West Ham. Now Arsenal no doubt a few other clubs will fancy trying to tempt him away. The thing is he now knows & we know he hasn't got complete control like he was promised. This could be the carrot that lures him away from to another club complete control. If there had been nothing to worry about he could have killed it stone dead by saying " I'm fully committed to Newcastle United " instead I think he swerved the question very nicely saying "he was only interested in the Norwich game". The fact that this story has emerged from the mirror like the transfer window story there has to be something in it. We need someone at the press conference to ask Benitez " Is your long term future at Newcastle United" if he swerves that then we may have cause for concern.

The real test for this team will start the week we play Brighton 'Uddersfield & Reading all away games. If we play like yesterday I can't see us getting anything. We must learn to get the 2nd or 3rd killer goal to win the game comfortably. Admittedly Gayle will be back & hopefully up to full speed by then but we are so reliant on him the same as Shelvey. The thing is they both must play every game as we look fragile without either or both in the team. This definitely strengthens Rafa's hand on why we should have bought in the January window. I think after those 3 games we'll have a much clearer idea as to wether we'll take one of the top spots, or be dragged down into the dreaded play-offs. Obviously the former is the preferred option as I don't fancy the latter.

Well we know what we've got to do, take all 3 points we've now got 'uddersfield breathing down Wor necks.

I still think it'll take a major overhaul & a canny spend to bring us up to the standard Rafa will want in the Premiership. That could bring major conflict between Ashley & Rafa. But that's for another day the main thing today is 3 points it feels like the pack below us seem to be closing in every time I look at the table.
