He's been undermined similar to Keegan. Obviously Rafa thought the Townsend deal was nailed on given his upbeat comments in the press conference on Tuesday Benitez said "We’re confident we can still do something” fast forward to post match QPR when asked about not strengthening the team a pissed off Benitez answered 3 times "It was not my decision" it should be an interesting press conference today.

If Rafa gives KK a quick call I'm sure Kev will fill him in on how this goes from now on.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/rafa-benitez-newcastle-manager-future-in-doubt-transfer-policy-a7560331.html He'll be gone in the summer nobody should blame him.
-
He's owned the club just over 9 & a half years Benitez is the 13th manager. With Pardew putting in a 4 year stint that's 12 in 5 years that's some revolving door
-
Rafa wanted Townsend & ended up with Sammy back, Fanks Mike
-
Yeah that's the one

Was the board absolved when Rafa joined ? If so do either Carr or Concur have job titles now ?

We are all agreed that Ashley is, was, & always will be a cunt though.

Remember the guy who said these things. We loved him & he equally loved everything about Newcastle United the club, the city & us lot the fans. When he spoke these words he spoke them because he genuinely loved the place. "Newcastle United need some stability, but you will never get stability when you have Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias running the club,” Keegan said. "The best day will come when someone buys it from him and runs Newcastle like that club should be run. The club can never go anywhere under Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias. “When you get the fans saying it is the wrong decision, when you get the players saying it is wrong and the press saying it is wrong, it tells you, unsurprisingly, that the decision is the wrong one.”

Newcastle United v QPR - Weds 1st of Feb 19:45

Even though we were ahead twice we always looked like we were the team behind. The defending again from their 1st goal was shocking, as was Perez finishing. We can't afford to throw points away like we did tonight it's all well & good having games in hand but we must capitalize on them. The pack below is closing in fast & I can see us being dragged into the play offs this is not negativity, this is reality. Saturday see's the return of McClaren & Derby there's no love lost there he'll be doing his best to put one over on us. This is a different squad to the 2009/10 squad & anyone who thought we'd "piss this" must now be having 2nd thoughts. -

They better get their arses in gear 2nd half otherwise QPR will take this. We don't seem to have that killer instinct. -

An early goal will settle the nerves defeat is not an option -
The thing is we can't afford to wrap him in cotton wool, he must play as much as possible for the rest of the season.

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez insisted he was still "confident" of signing a new face before the deadline tonight.(Newcastle Chronicle)

Must win game in hand to keep Reading at bay. A 3-0 home win -
Aye, good luck to Sutton at home against Arsenal in their 5,000 capacity ground.

I still can't help feeling for Krul like you say he had a shit bag of a defence to work with (not his fault) then his injury (not his fault) he's had 6 months at Ajax without an apearance (not his fault) & now again through no fault of his own he's frozen out.
-
I always thought Krul was a canny keeper seems like he's gone from "World Cup Penalty Hero" to zero in less than 18 months
-
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tim-krul-told-can-leave-12526539 Looks like Krul's in limbo Shirley he's better than either Elliot or Darlow (Sels doesn't count)

The defending ( I use the term loosely) from those corners was a disgrace
-
No excuses now we must play the strongest team possible in every game. Rafa's got to get this part right now we are not guaranteed promotion. Yes we are favourites but not guaranteed if we miss out & get dragged into the play-offs it could be a disaster.
