1. Someone was saying the other day that he's always wore the number 30 - a blatant double bluff btw to make people think he's younger than he is.
2. I think of him more as a defensive soldier of fortune.
3. I thought it meant he could play anywhere across the back four.
4. Jaysus, you are never happy. They probably did it to shut you up moaning about the way we werent going to sign anybody. You are worse than renton and wullie combined these days. Once he signs you will be moaning about how much money we have wasted. 182703 Even as I was typing I was thinking "some fucker will pick you up for twisting on about having heard nowt for weeks". Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that we're hopefully signing him, and as far as price goes, I've given up trying to work out where Shepherd is getting all the money for these signings from. I just think it would be a shame if this one does get hijacked at the last minute, and the more we keep shtum the less likely that is to happen. So there! I have become a bit of a misery of late though - normal service will be resumed if we come out of the transfer window looking ok.
5. I missed this from the other day. Good news though - establishing a proper scouting network is essential. By the way, I would put my mortgage on McDermott and Clark having been half cut at the England game they were scouting at.
6. It would have been nice if we could have done this on the quiet really. I don't see a lot of benefit in confirming that we've agreed a fee and that the agent and the player are mulling over terms. Better to say something when the players signed the contract. I know it's probable that we weren't the sole source for this information, but it's just a thought for the fat one in future....hopefully it doesn't harm us this time.
7. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~886282,00.html Link to the confirmation that we've agreed a fee btw. Dunno if it's been posted or not. Shepherd saying it's up to them to agree to the terms on offer. We can't afford to lose out on this one to Portsmouth - how embarrassing would that be?
8. Good luck to him if he goes to Portsmouth tbh. Would be canny gutted if they pipped us to him, but up to him I suppose. I doubt Shepherd's ego could take being beaten to a signing by Portsmouth though, so I think we'll be flexible on wages. Skysports.com is a shambles btw, so if that's the only place reporting it, it could well be cobblers.
9. Aye, the bloke out of Full Metal Jacket and Men In Black is good. Isn't Ice T in SVU though? Jesus wept at him like 182592 Vincent D'Onofrio. Aye Ice T is class man. Richard Belzer is basically a stand-up comedian too, I think - he's called Munch in the serious I think. Some strange casting decisions. A canny few people off Law and Order turn up on Oz as well.
10. They obviously also knew Martins coming was a cert so were just having a laugh. They got slammed when the website was too slow in it's news and like the club's voicepiece, now they're getting criticised for having a bit fun. 182551 You've made an unbalanced assumption. The two articles could be regarded as contemptuous towards Newcastle fans, and I know both from personal experience and from the experiences of others that they do hold us in contempt (for which I blame Skirge ). Yes, the opinions of the fans are often overboard, but some of them are justified. 182591 Some of his correspondence with the club must be priceless. "Wehres me ticket??? Am fkn fuming!"
11. Precisely! Leave that to Alan Oliver. I remember a Chronicle billboard with "Big Al in Op Shocker" on it. Turns out he was having his tonsils out.
12. Criminal Intent is the best. Special Victims Unit is canny an'all.
13. What is it with all your posts and the huge gaps at the top of them? Do you have return key tourettes or something?
14. Gemmill

Rome?

Not enough emperor bumming?
15. Some of them are quality, but none surpass "He had a face like a smashed cinema seat".
16. He's short, black and fast. Which is where I hope the Lua Lua similarities end.
17. Not really seen as they did the same thing last week with the ref for Wigan. They're not exactly getting "slammed" either.
18. In fact it's gonna be a while til we see him play at SJP (assuming he signs. It'll be even longer if he doesn't.) Is the next home game not til the 10th or something?
19. Won't have been registered will he in time for the round? 182535 Aye you're probably right. I'm just hoping for something to liven things up. Shame his first league game will be away.
20. He wants to be class for £10m. Good news though. Get him in the team for Thursday, Glennis.
21. When she was 'on form' she was miles better than her rivals so (with hindsight) she was a bit suss. And she's been looking like her old self of late. Still some way short of Flo-Jo though, who prematurely died of 'natural causes'. The sport is in disarray at the moment but it's nothing new. The testing is more sophisticated than ever though. 182518 Aye I remember Steve Cram's commentary on one of her Olympic medals as she was whopping everyone: "This is the Olympic games, you're not supposed to win by this much!" . You wonder how much of a difference the drugs can make though, and whether she could have still been a medallist without them, given how much better she was than everyone when she was allegedly taking them. She turned to shit when she was having to lay low after her hubby got caught, didn't she? Now the dust's settled on that she all of a sudden starts improving again. Hmmmmm.... Flo Jo always looked like a dodgy one like, and was pretty much confirmed when she pegged it.
22. Aye they did something last week about the ref for Wigan whose name was Martin with a "Martin for the Toon" type headline. Proper bunch of knobheads tbh.
23. Another one that's a bit of a shame after Gatlin. It seems pretty much anyone that's any good is up to no good.
24. I quite like that in a no brain comedy way. But then again I think I'm in a minority who usually enjoys Grants films. 182499 I think admitting to it puts you in the minority;) I enjoyed certain parts of 'Sirens' though. 182500 Aye, the parts where the lasses have got their chebs out.
25. The bit where Hugh Grant is trying to speak with a gangster type accent is excruciating. And not in a fish-out-of-water intentionally awkward way, just in a piss-off-Grant-you-complete-prick way.
