The US Version is really good. When I heard an American version was being made, I thought they'd ruin it, and basically watched to see how much they'd ruined it. The first episode is pretty much a carbon copy of the first episode of the original, but I thought they hadn't ruined it, and so kept on watching. As series 1 progressed they began diverting from making copies of the original and developed their own ideas. Series 2 is really good, and I quite like what I've seen of Series 3. I still think the original has the edge, but honestly, hand on heart, I think the US version is really good - and I don't like many American programmes, especially comedies. I think that Michael Scott is pretty much as cringeworthy as David Brent. And Dwight is as funny and rediculous as Gareth. Its honestly a great programme.

Aye, its a smashing show. Gene Hunt is a class character. The bloke who plays him is from London though. I heard him on the radio a couple of weeks ago talking about the new series, and I was shocked. Mancs might disagree like, but I think his accent is very convincing.

I'm not sure that Blair or anyone else would dare to send any of our lot..... then again. -
OK, I misread that. Thought it was best season I'd seen NUFC perform. Individual player - I think I'd probably have to go with Leslie Ferdinand - 1995/96

I know it was in the new-old Division 1 (Championship), but our performance throughout the 1992/93 season was a hell of a performance. We ripped through that Division with ease, head and shoulders above any other side. Tore teams apart, feared no-one. It was an absolute joy to witness it. But then the way we stepped up into the Premier in 93/94 was brilliant as well. A lot of people before that season were saying we were one season wonders - we'd be found out in the Premiership etc. A lot of us were settling for survival, or were saying they'd be happy with a mid table finish. But we stepped up with confidence and took on everyone, without losing the out and out fast attacking football that was so effective the year earlier. 94/95 was OK, but not quite as good. 95/96 Brilliant. The same style of football, but the team was stronger, and we almost, ALMOST did it. Tore teams apart etc. What lost us the title was maybe getting carried away a little bit, combined with lack of experience. 96/97 Good, but not as good. Mind, when Dalglish came in, we rallied, and it seemed like he'd hit the nail on the head. We were still playing good football, but the defence seemed tighter as well. We grabbed second at the last minute, and we thought we'd really be going for it the next year....oh dear. Some great football under SBR at times, but it didn't quite feel as good as the Keegan times. We beat teams well sometimes, but we never battered or humiliated them like we did under Keegan.

The Simpsons is one of those programmes that can span the entire TV quality spectrum. Some episodes are brilliant, others are average, others are absolute sh!te, and also everything in between. The last few years though, the quality has definitely dipped. When they stopped Futurama, I felt that they'd stopped the wrong one. They should have continued with Futurama and axed The Simpsons - its run its course.

First attempt at doing a wallpaper. A little bit crude. I'm going to do more players, and hopefully improve. For now I'll start at the beginning. Given. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/sup...enwallpaper.jpg

God bless the deep south. "There are black sports and there are white sports" "This is NASCAR not Blackcar" There's loads of the Mr Bergis calls. Most of them are class. http://ebaumsworld.com/tags/mr-bergis/ The Gay School and the Child Support ones are brilliant.

Totally agree. He was only a young kid as well, and according to loads of our fans he's sh!te.

The vermin will be on here any minute Might have an early night. Probably. Mind you it'd be flattering if he/they did show up. On what's a good night for them, if he started gloating about it here, when we're not involved. The lad obviously cares about us.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/journal...#story_continue Gazza's sci-fi shockerFeb 21 2007 By The Journal Former football star Paul Gascoigne is to produce and star in a new feature film about an alien invasion, it was announced yesterday. The ex-Newcastle player will appear alongside Lois Winstone, daughter of actor Ray Winstone, in an action/horror movie called Final Run. Billed as a cross between Blackhawk Down and Alien, Final Run is set in the near future, following a group of survivors after aliens have assimilated most of the human population. Gascoigne plays a man forced to decide between his own survival, and that of the human race. A spokesman for the project said: "Paul Gascoigne, a lifelong genre fan, lends his considerable expertise as both producer and feature actor. "As a part of the key creative team, Paul's input into the script and vision are invaluable." It is hoped Final Run will be in cinemas in early 2008.

I think Simon Donald is still involved isn't he? But there's still people running it who've been involved for years, and it's definitely still based up here.

Roeder was on earlier. Here's a summary of what was said. Michael Owen's recovery is going well. He has been running in straight lines this week. However it is too early to say when he will play, he needs to start twisting and turning in his training, which he will be doing soon, but that will be a big test, as will training with the ball and tackling. But Roeder is optimistic that Owen may be able to participate in a few games this season. He's happy with the general performance of the team so far this season. He was very unhappy with the manner Newcastle was knocked out of the FA Cup, but he's very pleased with the performances in the UEFA Cup, which he sees as a major chance of some silverware this season. It was put to him that considering all the injuries, Newcastle were doing well. He replied by saying that injuries are not an excuse, but that it can make things difficult and that he'd had to call upon young players to step up, and was very pleased in the way that they had responded. Roeder was asked about the Academy situation following Ferguson's comments this week. Roeder said that it is hard to find academy players that are up to the standards, due to the rules about clubs only being allowed to sign players based within an hour of them. It was put to Roeder that the tradition of the North East as a strong area for producing quality players put Newcastle at an advantage over many other clubs, but Roeder disagreed. He argued that they have to find academy players up to the right standard in a relatively small area, with "a lot of grass" to the south, "a lot of grass" to the north, "more grass" to the west, and "quite a lot of water" to the east. Roeder was asked about Arsene Wenger's comments that FA Cup replays should be scrapped, and he said that he agreed with Wenger, as fixture congestion is a big problem.
