Chawaka-wow! Ugly men and women on television. No way would Juliet Bravo be produced now with her. No way would Duncan Wood or Paul Frost get jobs on telly, let alone Mike Neville. Was it Bill Steel who read the birthday cards out on ITV at tea-time? The cheesy bastard. yeah it was always wanted him to wish me happy birthday lol think he still does it on real radio He does on Century, I rang him one night about 2am when I got in a few years ago. real radio is century lol I know the penny just dropped. I remember hearing the fog horn actually. She lived near the Lightfoot (easy to forget how close it is to the river). Rough as owt where she lived but it never bothered my playing out there as a kid. I loved it down Walker to be honest round Roman Avenue, made loads of friends when I was small, never ever in any danger. My uncle reckons his street is full of Africans now though, but in his words (not being racist his words) "they're aaalreet for darkies". One thing I used to love about Walker was the ice cream man used to do strawberry ice cream off the pump. would that be old vincie? my mam used to get ice cream off him when she was a kid and reckons he looked old when she was young lol
