19001 Funnily enough on the Kiyt thing. I work away mid-week and was watching that skysports footy thing on Wednesday night and they we're chuntering before the games kicked off and Charlie Nicholas was talking about some team (forget who) who was bidding for Kiut, and he finished his sentence with "I also have information Newcastle are pretty far down that road as well". 19016 yea we were favourites to get him at the start of the season, and i think we will get himbefore next week,BUT we will have to sell jenas to fund the move because feyenoord want 12 million and Tottenham got a 10 million bid rejected and so did everton. Fingers crossed

i just think if we have emre luque and dyer in that game at manure we will give them a good match!
-
yea, i was jst reading that in the mirror, would be very good if we get kiyt now aswell, now theres a golascorer, and i think he is a physical enough player to hack the premiership so i say go for him!
-
i think getting luque will lift the players, and the return of emre and dyer(possibly). so i think we will be really up for sunday!
-
that looksa cracking formation but it just doesnt seem to be workinging unless shearer has got some next to him playing an oy and out striker position, but still either 1 of them formations would match manusa. we'll haver to see. i now carnt wait until th manure game!
-
you got it LOL im just chuffed we have got him,i just think if we have him up fron: .....................Given..................... Carr....Boumsong...Taylor...Baba.. ..................Parker...................... ......Bowyer....Dyer....Emre.......... ...........Shearer.....luque................ Subs:harper, ramage, clark,jj,ameobi, milner Now IMO that is a team that will give manUSA a game at sjp....u agree?

Albert Luque will arrive at Newcastle United on Friday for a medical, after a fee in the region of £10 million was agreed with Deportivo La Coruna. Agent Francis Martin exclusively told skysports.com that an accord had been reached over the player and that he would seal a move to The Premiership this week. "Tomorrow (Friday) morning Newcastle will send a plane for Luque and his father," said Martin. "We are confident that the player will pass the medical and sign a contract." Luque himself expressed his delight at the chance of playing in England, saying: "I am happy that a deal has been done. "The Premiership is an excellent league. "It is up to the coach but I am prepared to play on Sunday against Manchester United. "To be in the team next to [Alan] Shearer would be a huge personal satisfaction to me."

luque sky sports Magpies still in for luque Newcastle appear to be closing on the signing of Deportivo La Coruna striker Albert Luque with their move for Michael Owen showing no signs of progressing. It was thought that The Magpies had given up on the Spain international having declared that Depor had rejected their 'final and best' offer. It was then revealed they had agreed a fee of over £15 million with Real Madrid for Owen and it seemed Luque had been put on the back-burner. However, with Owen dragging his heels over the prospect of a permanent move to St James' Park, Graeme Souness is now back in for the Spaniard. Clearly worried by his side's lack of cutting edge, illustrated by the 2-0 defeat to Bolton on Wednesday night, the Scot is desperate to bring in at least one big-name striker before the transfer deadline and looks ready to push the boat out for Luque. The player left Depor's training session early on Thursday, a move Spanish sources claim was a clear signal that the transfer to Newcastle was back on. The Premiership outfit are understood to have already agreed terms with the 27-year-old so they must now concur on a fee with Depor. With Luque under contract until 2010, the Galicians are not prepared to let the left-sided star leave on the cheap and have already rebuffed bids in the region of £8-10 million. With Newcastle's need ever more pressing, a £12 million deal now looks on the cards although talks between the two clubs are still ongoing.
