  5. is david prentice a clone of our very own alan oliver, all local papers are bias towards their clubs, why not? the only thing is,THEY ALL TALK UTTER BOLLOCKS really!
  6. i had heard of emre from when he was at inter and i had heard of luque, you only have to watch a few international games to spot how good these players, how can you not of heard of emre he a world star and so has luque over the last year or two, luque is being tipped better and better every season were as emre has been a well known turkish international for years he is like our david beckham!
  7. owen worried on future Owen is in limbo on who he wants to join...he evan rang sven up for advice last night! England coach Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed Michael Owen is worried his international future as he mulls over a move to Newcastle. The Magpies have seen a bid accepted for the former Liverpool striker, but as yet the 26-year-old is stalling as he weighs up whether to return to The Premiership. Owen was a squad player for Real last season, although the arrivals of Julio Baptista and Robinho have pushed the star further down the pecking order. Newcastle are desperate to bolster their attacking options, however Owen is keen to ensure he plays regular first-team football in order to make Eriksson's World Cup squad. Liverpool have also been tipped to bring Owen back to The Premiership, but as yet manager Rafa Benitez is keeping his transfer cards close to his chest. "Michael is worried about his club football and even more worried about the international team in a World Cup year," said Eriksson. "We talked for 10 minutes last Thursday and his worries are, if he plays like he did last season, will I pick him or not? "If he plays as many games as he did last season Real Madrid, I will pick him. "If he never plays than it's a tricky one. I will be happy the day I am told what he going to happen, because he is worried."
  8. toon move for kuyt? United ready to move for Kuyt Aug 27 2005 By Paul Gilder, The Journal Freddie Shepherd will have to part with almost £13m to lure Dirk Kuyt to Tyneside having seen Feyenoord rebuff a series of major bids for their much-coveted striker this summer. Yet the Magpies could have signed the 25-year-old for a fraction of that fee after it emerged United's scouts were monitoring Kuyt almost four years ago, before his talents became universally recognised. As Michael Owen continues to resist Newcastle's overtures - following talks, the Real Madrid man has yet to make a decision - Souness has earmarked Kuyt as an alternative target and an official approach has been made to his Eredivisie club. The Dutch international's stock has risen sharply since November 2001, when Sir Bobby Robson identified a player beginning to make a name for himself at Utrecht. Yet with Craig Bellamy, Lomana LuaLua, Carl Cort, Alan Shearer and Shola Ameobi all competing for a first-team place, a deal was put on ice. It was Feyenoord who took a gamble on Kuyt and, in his two seasons at the De Kuip, an astonishing 51 goals in 70 league matches have more than justified a bargain £700,000 transfer. Although Everton and Tottenham have had £10m offers rejected for a player also courted by Liverpool this summer, the Dutch club's valuation of their prized asset has not deterred United, who are willing to pay £16m to land Owen. "We have shown an interest in Kuyt and that's about all I can say," said Graeme Souness who, having completed a £9m deal for Albert Luque, remains determined to sign a specialist striker before Wednesday's transfer deadline. "He has got an incredible scoring record in Dutch football. Many people have described him as a young Alan Shearer. Whether that's true I don't know but I have heard it said. We have made an enquiry." It seems that United's interest has not yet got as far as the tabling of a bid. With David Moyes having revealed that Everton were quoted £12.85m as the asking price on August 1, the Magpies know what will be required to prise Kuyt away from Rotterdam. A player fast gaining a reputation as one of European football's most-ruthless strikers - he has scored 102 times in 230 appearances in the Dutch league. Given Owen's apparent determination to defer his decision for as long as possible, the Magpies can't afford to wait before deciding whether or not to press home their interest in Kuyt. Should Feyenoord give any indication that they are prepared to sell at a price which suits Newcastle, Owen could find himself left in limbo. Shepherd had attempted to force the striker's hand by issuing an ultimatum. But with Wednesday's deadline gone and still no decision having been made, the club's interest remains. "There has never been any deadline regarding Owen," said Souness, who again underlined his determination to keep Tottenham target Jermaine Jenas on Tyneside. He insisted United do not need to sell the £10m-rated midfielder to help finance the signing of one of their striking targets. Having taken his summer spending to £20m with the signing of Luque, that Shepherd is still spearheading the club's pursuit of Owen means he has pledged a staggering £36m to his manager. Should the Real Madrid striker agree to join United only Chelsea will have invested more in players this summer.
  9. for the 1,000,000 time anelka isnt for sale! they came out last week and said they wouldn't have enought time to find a replacement,i say we go for kuyt anyway!(fenerbahce) ANELKA=
  10. agreed,i have said this all along, and if we buy kuyt(not that i don't want him to ) it would have to be 12-13m,so that would take it to 34m odd.thats more than man utd, liverpool and arsenal(PROBABLY PUT TOGETHER!) have spent,so ffs has spent the second largest amount of transfer money this summer in the prem! FACT! it`s not like he hasnt backed this club, but his negotiation skills can not be defended,THEY ARE POOR AND SLOW
  11. thank god the school holidays will be over soon!
  12. signing owen now wouldnt just excite me,it would give me satisfaction in that we can put our fingers up to liverpool and just about evry1 who has been doubting us. laugh at me all you want, but i think he will end up here. freddy shepherd was in talks with micheal owens agent yesterday....and freddy said it had to be closed by thursday night if he can't make a decision..then why has souness said the bids still on the table?....Because owens agent must have said something quite positive to do with owen coming here or shepherd would have closed it last night! does that make sense?
  13. ffs sake do you not get enough attention! i thought i put some pointless threads on sometimes, but at least they have a bit of meaning! FFS!
  14. kuyt is built like a brick shithouse and he would easily be able to adapt to the prem.IMO
  15. kuyt, but NOT because i think he better than owen,i just think if we go for kuyt we have got to spend less and we would actually have a good chance of getting kuyt unlike owen w/e anyone says, owen wont come here on a permanent basis(WASTE OF TIME)
  16. Well seeing as Spanish football is on Sky every week through the season (live games and highlights) it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that some people have seen him play. ..................................................................................................... Exactly!
  17. your not talking to me are you? because i do not base fact on video clips and football manager, infact iv'e never evan played football manager! i don't base my life around computor games!
  18. luque is a superb player,i like watching the spanish games when they are on sky and i like him when i saw him play he is just amazing,he walked through ac milans defence,so he must be strong and fast he scored goals against top teams such real, barca, juve, milan etc etc so i dont think he will have problems scoring goals against the likes of arsenal, manure, chelsea liverpool etc
