which 'readers' or 'aggregators' should I use? Where can I download it? Cheers. This place not do it? RSS wouldnt really work on a forum though, you would end up with loads of links to posts, easier just to log in and view. Would you not just have links to loads of topics rather than individual posts? This place can't get through more than 20 or 30 topics a day and I only come back to a small number of them. Thought it would be handy to be told as soon as a topic I want to read has been responded to. think you're fucking important or something? Feel you shouldn't have to wade through the dross like the rest of us? Roasted Swan anyone? p.s. readers = eyes aggregators = brain

Yep I'd probably agree that the most postive spin would put it somewhere around Championship level.... which again goes back to the question of Beckham moving to the Championship for 125m, would it be for the money or the football. this is where you display your blatent misunderstanding you honestly think there is a parallel between moving to the US and to Luton Town don't you? small minded tbh -

It's been making a profit for a while now, but lost a phenomenal amount in it's early years. Much of the current profitabilty is down to a recent TV deal, it's gates are still somewhat low (although it's TV, shirts and sponsorship etc. that will be the real money, of course, eventually). you mean like the premiership? I'm not sure what you mean by lower division US sides though? Do you mean non-major league sides (A-league)? I'm afriad I don't pay that much attention who Sunderland lose to. But again, it may well take off and become huge... but it's still a pretty weak league now. -

Fop: "only going to sell T-shirts wont be playing football IQ smaller than mine" all totally unjustifiable statements tbh you know nowt about his motivations, nowt about the game in the US, and nowt about his IQ do you think they play different rules or something? Are American blokes physically different in some way? The old chestnut of 'only x% of Americans even knew the World Cup was on' ill come out soon, forgetting that %age outweighs the entire population of Western Europe The MSL will succeed and people like Fop will have some serious egg on their faces when the USA win the WC before England ever will again -

I’m correct, if you must think that to make yourself feel better, that is up to you. Again you show your UTTER IGNORANCE, LA Galaxy is one of the Major Leagues biggest clubs (but being a big club in a pants leagues is nothing to write home about). They do have decent financial backing (but then so do a lot of middle east and far eastern teams) and were the first Major League team to make a profit (largely the whole formation of male soccer league in the USA is/was venture capital gamble). However if you look at Beckham’s deal they aren’t paying him ½ a million a week, but rather when you figure in sales and promotional value (much like he did something similar with RM) that’s what he’ll be getting. However yes, Luton Town would probably do quite well in the US Major League Did he not get himself back into the Portugal team? Did he not do well in Italy? He went for football not to sell t-shirts, as a footballer not a sales rep. None of which would get him anything like as much money as he stands to gain if the USA gamble pays off. As I said as a business move it’s a good one, but as a footballer it is a zero respect one. Now do you admire and respect Beckham so much as a footballer or a business commodity? He hasn’t done a lot in those WCs though really. Largely got England knocked out in 1998, didn’t do a great deal in 2002, and in 2006 his most memorably moments were being sick on the pitch and crying in the stands. He has some good qualifying games though. so all the other european based players like Terry et al who appear in the games / sportswear / toiletries ads are all proper players are they? Do you even want football to become successful in the US? So what if it's all backed by money, how else is it going to compete? Are you saying the European game is run for the good of the game? Jesus the sponsorship packages of the last world cup were obscene. I really really can't see why Beckham deserves any extra stick for going to the US rather than Inter. You think he deserves the shit people like you shovel in his direction, people who in a hundred years won't achieve what he has on the pitch? How can playing in a less high profile league and setting up soccer academies not be seen as for the good of the game -

god your a sad cynical souless bastard aren't you? I won't go any further with this as you obviously are set in your opinion. I will just point out that if beckham IS soccer in the USA as you say about a hundred times, where did Galaxy get the money for his contract? I can't see Luton town being able to make the payments And as for Figo, is he any less of an arrogant twat to people now he's carried on and won things at Inter? Does his presence not sell shirts? A quote: "I'm going for the life, for my kids and my wife to enjoy it, but the main thing for me is to improve the soccer and to be part of history." In 20 years time who will have done more for football, Figo or Beckham? Selling T-Shirts is his only motivation? rubbish. He could retire now and start any number of ventures around the world. Pure jealousy imho p.s. why beckham should still need to prove his footballing credentials to a bunch of cynical wankers after appearing in 3 World Cups is beyond me. -

because he gets paid by adidas what, on a commision basis FFS? well if adidas go bankrupt then he won't get paid at all, if they become the biggest company in the world they will be able to pay him more. so to answer your question - yes or, more correctly, no -

This guy knows the score Why isn't the UK a world power? Because the yanks fucked us over during and after the second world war and a few other things as well. Yes, but the point I'm making is the reason we're not a world power ISN'T because we fight wars. Quite right, it's because we can't win them any more. Nobody wins a war Right again. I was using the dumbass/politician definition of win: having temporary "control" over the "loser's" country and being able to tell them what to do for a bit. Oh and I forgot to add: steal their natural resources - even more than we normally do. fucking natural resources, all these third world countries struggling trying to feed the masses selling oil/diamonds/uranium you live on a different fucking planet indi

They changed how they calculated the rankings after the last World Cup a bit (before it was even worse), but it still massively over inflates the standings of teams like the USA. I see and what would you say if Beckham had gone to our Championship? (which is probably a significantly stronger league) I don't know what your problem is really he's gone to a rubbish league, turning his back on a potential indian summer in football for money... that's all. You either think that is a good thing (like you) or a bad thing (like me). Or you're just Trolling (most likely tbh). Sorry I didn’t realise I was talking to a complete idiot (although I probably should have guessed). No “harm”, but no respect either. Shearer did what he did and now does media, fair enough. He didn’t do the rubbish but rich club pay off thing, that’s up to him (many would have taken him this season and next most likely). Beckham easily had the chance to go and play real football with good teams (at least for 2 years), to win stuff perhaps and maybe even get back into the England team, perhaps. He chose to go a rubbish league purely for the money, that’s up to him, but as I said it gets him zero respect. As I said I don’t really see your point (although not understand how basic commerce works maybe you don’t actually have one). my point is I don't see why he's being slagged for going to the USA? How is that any less worthy than going where? he was obviously not going to make it at RM, he's not going to win anything a major in a European team, and he is never going to win anything with England (and he can still be called up from the US FFS) And somehow, he is morally somehow less than the mighty Shearer, for why exactly? It's utter bullshit spouted by people who let the News of the World do their thinking for them He's got years left in him, why not go to America and raise the profile of the game? Have you even listened to what he has said about the move or are you just forming opinions on what you think his motivations are. You telling me what his motivation is is as ridiculous as you telling me you know what I think And yes, detail me in exact terms how kids buying boots would mak someone move to the US instead of stay in Europe. I know he is paid by Addidas, but he's not exaclty going to only let kids wearing Adidas into the school is he? And i'm pretty sure his contract isn't as sohphisticated so as to be linked to the exact number of boots sold. Or is your reasoning behind this simplistic aswell? -
send you back to Manchester FFS this board should be for local fans only tbh. Four of the five people who set this board up aren't local Neither's Invicta, by the way! Sorry, never paid much attention to him. Did he post on N-O or something? Indeed he did/does... I'm staying here now. I like the wallpaper

If you don't realise that is again a completely "brand" decision again I don't know what to say. It's about making money that's all. bollocks, there are a lot easier ways to make money, is Shearer doing something better by warming a chair on MOTD? I think not. Just admit it, there's nowt he could do that would ever make you see him in any other light Making more money than brand "Beckham" cracking one of the RICHEST sports markets in the world? The money to be made from kids football boots alone is astounding in the USA. Do you understand how much US Basketball/Baseball/American Football etc. stars get paid for their sponsorship stuff? It is insane. As I said you clearly don't understand the realities or the sums of money involved here. explain to me how Beckham gets money from kids buying football boots FFS? Is endorsing Big Mac's a more worthy cause? I've already said he's going to make money out of this, and where's the harm in that? You tell me the difference between Lord Shearer being paid by the BBC and Beckham playing in a league and running a soccer school? Which one's purely in it for the money and which is making money and promoting football at the same time? -

Again that depends on whether he wanted to play for Newcastle or win trophies, and at the time he probably thought he could do both.... However neither option is really what Beckham's doing, he's just going to sell more t-shirts frankly. I can't believe the rose tinted views of Shearer's decision-making process compared to that of Beckham. I tell you what, if LA Galaxy had come in with a half a million pound a week offer to Shearer when he was 32, he would have been off like a fucking shot. Maybe.... or equally maybe not (it’s all just guff in the wind)…. but Beckham left his boyhood club for green pastures. Shearer had the choice and came to his. Would Shearer have rather sold t-shirts or played football? I'd expect the later as otherwise how do you explain him not signing for some US/Gulf/Far Eastern team for a year or two as a nice little earner? He could be leisurely trotting around the pitch now for buckets of cash if he wanted to I'm sure. or he could have kept his family in the same place, earnt the same money on the SJP pitch and then gone into lucrative broadcasting contracts.... Which he still could have done after a year or two trotting around the pitch getting paid even more than at NUFC..... but this has nothing to do with Beckham. so you would move your family half way round the world to trot round a pitch, when you know you're a guaranteed starter on just as good money over here? If he was just after money (as you suggest) why not? And why not now when he still could be earning more than in the media? are you asking me why he would prefer not to move half way round the world and not carry on playing when he can stay right here and do jack shit by being in the telly? why is he retired anyway if Teddy Sheringham's still scoring? Surely Blyth would have taken him on for a year? He'd earn more money for a year or two, then could do what he's doing now anyway, if money was the only thing he ever cared about, then why not exactly? I also notice you've shut up about "Team USA" being a top world team and the Major League being anything but mickey mouse too. are you really not sure why he wouldnt want to move half way round the world? and FIFA rankings are weighted for standard of competion btw of course some might consider a league 'mickey mouse' if there are no international stars in it. How do you square that with pillorying Beckham for going over there? Who's making it mickey mouse? -
You've screwed up, Johnny. You're a failure. Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done, and how you're going to rectify this terrible situation. Apparantly it's not compatible with Firefox version 2.0.0.1 so now I need to get Firefox 2! Done that and it's still not working! Now I can go and stand in the corner. FireFox 2001? fuck that, you need IE 2007 tbh
