Excellent first half performance, very shaky second half though. Dyer looked good all along, solano was great in the first half but went missing in the second, n'zogbia was easily our best player. the rest had average games. Bramble and boumsong looked shaky at the back, so did the full backs at times. The goal was great to watch, superb run from n'zogbia finished off very well buy dyer. given pulled off another magnificient save in the second half. The man's a bloody legend On the whole, im delighted we're through but that second half performance was far from convincing.

thanks lads, not as good as pele but 404 is no joke especially considering that injury. But people forget something, alan shearer has played for southampton, blackburn and newcastle. All of which for the most part have been nothing more than average teams with average players. One can confidently say if he had the kind of service the peles and van bastens got he would have scored more. Im not saying he's as good as them because he certainly isn't, but shearer's stats, astonishing as they are dont convey the whole picture. Now anyone know where to get the stats for today's other greats like henry and van nistelrooy?? Im looking at sites but help would be appreciated. Yet another record broken by the great man yesterday. Couldn't be happier for him. Also couldn't help wondering how many goals has he exactly scored in his career? This would include all competitions for all clubs and the internationals. Would love to see that one figure. Anybody know where to get these stats??

About the ronaldo booking again, i'd like to know something. Isn't it necessary for contact to have been made for a booking?? I'd thought so, and pundits on espn were going on about how ronaldo's challenge should only have been a yellow since there was no real contact. Can a player actually be sent off for bad intent?? Watching the tackle live my first reaction was that it should be a red card. And i hate ronaldo as much as anyone, the way he waves around his hands asking for other players to be booked is disgraceful.

And ronaldo's sending off against man city was very harsh as well. Not to mention that bolton player sent off( i forgot his name). Absolutely ridiculous. The standard of refereeing in the premier league has become apalling. And these rules they keep on coming up with. They seem to be created to spoil the whole spirit of the game.

FACT. 79301[/snapback] Look mate, im not denying injuries havent had an effect on our performances since graeme came. They definitely have, but to hold them responsible for a year and a half of complete mediocrity is rubbish. Everytime we lose, souness starts whinging about the long injury list. Ive seen quite a few gutless spiritless performances under graeme. We've stooped to new lows under him. And we im not just complaining about yesterday when he said we were the best team. Ok, maybe we were the best team yesterday. But to be honest, ive watched almost all the games we've played under graeme on TV, we've deserved most of the failure thats come our way. Ive been near to tears, head hanging down in shame, with some of the performances we've put in under him. The club's lost a lot of dignity and self-pride, we've become something of a joke. And that just isn't OK with me. Lets all face it, Souness is a complete nitwit and has caused huge damage to our beloved club which is why I hate the man, and I will hate him forever. May, as in the words of souness, 'lady luck shine upon us' and we be rid of this parasite.

Couldn't agree more with scottish mag. The man is destroying us, to save the club he has to be gotten rid of. Simple as that. If we sack him close season it'll cost us more since the new manager will take his time as well.

Whats left in the season for us?? We need to show the kind of form we havent shown for two years to get anywhere near a european place via the league. And lets not think about the fa cup shall we, it'll be a bloody miracle if we can get to the semis again. Realistically its very unlikely we're going to get into europe or win the fa cup.. So where do the players get the motivation from?? Surely they have to have something to go on about?? Loads of games left to play. I think the new manager should get his chance now. Like I said there's hardly anything left in the season, so the new manager should get used to the job in theses comings months except of wasting the next season like souness did. Come next season, if the manager is decent enough, we'll have a good strong squad ready to start afresh with a more capable manager who has had already the time to get acquainted with them. If we wait till close season to sack souness, godness knows what the fool would have done to us till then. Plus, the new manager will then take his time to get familiar with things. This is the ideal time. SACK HIM AND GIVE US A REASON TO CELEBRATE FOR ONCE..................( a plea unto fat fred)
