    Given the BoJo is heading for a no deal Brexit, which is what Farrage seemed to want in the first place, how is he losing control? I mean, he never had any control beyond "Brexit means Brexit", but I don't think that is what he means. Presumably he means that BoJo has not got Europe to agree to let us do everything we want with no consequences, which is, of course, the expectation of every minority party which has no hope of ever coming into power and enacting their fanciful policies. I wish he would piss off once and for all to Trumpland. Cath word!

    They opened up for drinking (as opposed to eating) last weekend here. I went past our local and saw a lengthy queue outside mid-afternoon. I thought that there was little point in queuing then, because anyone who had already got in probably had no intention of leaving before midnight at the earliest

    And the officers remaining on that special unit resigned from the unit in support of those officers. Clearly they felt that it was acceptable behaviour and they should not have been stood down, never mind prosecuted. John Oliver was pretty brutal on the police in his programme this week. Raised some very valid points, and quite scary how the police react to any sort of external oversight.

    Completely agree. I think the default position for the PL is to stick their heads under the blankets and hope it all goes away, so they don't have to make a decision at all. To that extent, Project Restart has been a blessing, because it has meant they can ignore this issue. However, that excuse is going to run very thin soon.

    I think the drip-feeding of information has been part of a plan to disrupt the process, while acknowledging that it will probably go through in the end, because of the terms of the owners and directors test. I have no doubt that elements which may or may not employ the hairy-handed one are having fun giving it to the KSA, and elements in the PL who know which side their bread is buttered are assisting. If only they checked out the much higher standard of bread available in the Cooking thread (and probably from the KSA) they may get a fucking shift on!
