Thanks mate. Trying to say something? Well my knowledge of Kurdish history is kind of sketchy, but from what I remember you guys usually end up at the wrong end of things. Are you from the Kurdish area of Iraq or one of bits in other countries? Poor bastards there certainly had a hard time of it. Yeah I am mate. Kurds have always been in fights, either civil wars or some other stupid pointless war, but its all safe now

  13. A MAN bitten on the penis by a deadly snake has told how he used a cold rum can to soothe the pain while he rang his mother to say a final goodbye. "I thought I was gone," Daryl Zutt said of his now notorious encounter with a brown snake during a roadside toilet stop in remote far north Queensland, The Cairns Post reported. "I thought, ‘Maybe, this is it. Maybe, I’m gonna cark it’." The Cairns Post revealed details of the bizarre encounter two weeks ago but the identity of the victim remained unknown until Mr Zutt came forward to tell how the brown snake took a near-fatal swipe as he relieved himself. "I squatted down … I reckon I must’ve nearly sat on his head," he said. "As soon as I felt it, I yelled. "It really hurt. "When it happened, I knew in the back of my mind it was a snake. "I seen him coming out from between my legs." He said he tried to remain calm as he inspected the damage. "He got me about halfway down," he said. "I saw fang marks and a bit of blood come out." Mr Zutt's friend drove him to a medical centre before he was moved to a hospital for further tests which showed he was not envenomated. "They’ve been saying things like ‘It was a trouser snake fight’ and ‘He (the snake) saw the competition and got scared’," Mr Zutt said. "Once they knew I was right, the jokes came out."

  15. A Tyneside woman who gave birth during a friend's hen night in Blackpool said she did not know she was pregnant. Ally Ashwell, from Newcastle, was touring the seaside town's pubs and clubs in a bumble-bee outfit, when she began to feel unwell. She returned to her hotel room, where the shocked 30-year-old found herself delivering her own baby. The fragile 2lb boy - named Owen - is being cared for in the intensive care unit of Blackpool Victoria Hospital. A shortage of available special care baby beds in Newcastle has meant Ms Ashwell remaining in Lancashire for three weeks since the birth. It is hoped she will be able to travel to Tyneside soon. 'Little fighter' A spokesman for the Blackpool Victoria Hospital said: "It is very unusual for a baby to be born in this situation, I think Owen has surprised us all by the progress he has made. "At 26 weeks, the chance for survival is probably about 50 to 60 per cent and the fact he was born outside hospital will have reduced that survival rate. "So it's a tribute to the paramedics for their work and to him for being a little fighter." A spokesman for Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary added: "We would always make it a priority to repatriate local babies who are unexpectedly born elsewhere. "However we are the largest neonatal intensive care unit in the region and have to give priority to emergencies and to babies who are very sick and in need of specialist care that only we can provide. "We sympathise with the family for this unfortunate delay and as soon as a bed becomes available this baby will be first priority."

  17. Tottenham Hotspur's Pascal Chimbonda has questioned the police investigation into alleged football corruption after the player was released from bail earlier this week. Spurs defender Chimbonda was released from bail on Friday by officers investigating allegations of football corruption. Chimbonda had been arrested last September by officers from the City of London Police on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud. The arrest surrounded a £18,000 loan given to Chimbonda by the player's agent Willie McKay with the agent defending his decision to give the player the loan. The 29-year-old has now been cleared of any wrongdoing and the French international is unhappy that the whole matter has painted him in a bad light. Chimbonda also believes the incident affected his position at Tottenham with the club bringing in Alan Hutton during the January transfer window. "I am happy that I have been cleared of any wrongdoing and I always knew I would be," Chimbonda told skysports.com. "When I was arrested I was amazed by all the media coverage with the news on the television and on the front and back pages of the papers. "My family were in tears when I was arrested and I found it very difficult to explain to them what was happening when I had done nothing wrong in the first place. "I did not know what was going on and it affected my position at Tottenham. "When I was released from bail this week there was no coverage in the press. "I was portrayed in a bad light to people in the public because when they see someone arrested they don't know the facts and just see someone arrested, when in fact I did nothing wrong." Chimbonda faces an uncertain future at Tottenham this summer and the player feels his arrest has affected his long-term position. "The investigated affected me as I was forced to spend two days in the cells for nothing," the Frenchman explained. "I love England and playing in the Premier Legaue, but I find the policing in England very strange."
