  1. This just proves my point. The Tories have won the argument, we are the same as the US in that any sensible moderate proposal is labelled socialist, even by our own side. We just keep ceding the argument and the Overton window moves inexorably to the right.
  2. It's exactly this, and as much because it will be impossible to sort the country out without facing the biggest reason for the problems we are having
  3. So Miggy? He's had quite the pre-season Sustainable?
  4. It's not you who he needs to get voting for him, he has the Pimms drinking shithouse vote locked in already
  5. I don't understand how anybody can look at Starmers performance and have any confidence that he can win an election, and if he does back his way into a victory have any chance of running a successful government
  6. Wether she has a point or not, she isn't saying anything that should have been a surprise to him. It's no secret that the Sun is despised in Liverpool. It's not a shock that left leaning people are increasingly exasperated at Starrmer abandoning all of his promised progressive policies. His response though is to sit there looking like a frightened cod.
  7. Listening to Starmer being interviewed on Radio 4. He is a total personality vacuum, and isn't saying anything that would get anyone to vote for him. Platitude upon platitude He also sounds much more like the third candidate in the Tory leadership race than anything else
  8. 47m ago Starmer's economy speech shows he wants to 'adopt Tory policies wholesale', SNP claims https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2022/jul/25/conservative-leadership-contest-keir-starmer-economic-growth-liz-truss-rishi-sunak-uk-politics-live?filterKeyEvents=false&page=with:block-62de9d2c8f08d0ef4fa8e929#block-62de9d2c8f08d0ef4fa8e929 Hard to disagree with a word of that
  9. If its Brighton I'll be expecting @Meenzer to be sorting me a ticket
  10. Replace Democrat with Labour and it's spot on
  11. Actually where we disagree is I think that if Labour get in without an agenda to address Brexit and some radical policies for change then the country will still be completely fucked I don't think Starmer is capable, or wants to be that leader. The view that you have to take anyone but the Tories will, in my opinion, just contribute to a slightly slower decline, then a much faster one when they inevitably sweep back to power on the back of Labour's failure
  12. Fair enough, but that's where we disagree. This border issue I think is exactly the right sort of thing that's easy to explain. There are always going to be a sizeable group who shout the loudest, but them cunts would never vote Labour anyway Labour should be hammering this sort of thing Otherwise if they sneak in they will have no mandate to do anything about it Mind you judging by what Starmer has said he won't change it anyway
  13. Here's the problem. If you don't challenge it becomes the orthodoxy, so in the same way that the global financial crash in the the UK narrative was the fault of Labour, we are going to end up with everyone believing that the countries problems are due to anything but Brexit.
  14. Nope, I don't expect a full economic plan but if the best you can come out with is this ypu might as well keep your mouth shut However, he will say his economic plan will be founded on three principles – “strong, secure, fair”. “Strong, because it will build a foundation where every business and every person plays a role,” he is expected to say. “Secure, because it will produce good jobs that don’t leave people feeling insecure. “Fair, because it will unlock the potential of every place – every community, every town and every city.”
  15. Labour mouthing empty platitudes, refusing to mention the most important issue facing the economy and offering nothing in the way of policy while facing the most corrupt lying incompetent government in history during the worst economic crisis in decades. We deserve better
  16. Are we not inspired? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-62287310
  17. What a sensational Tour that was, it had absolutely everything. Vingegard vs Pog could be epic for years to come. Wout van Aert is the most exciting rider I've ever seen Jumbo Visma's preparation must be off the charts Pidcocks descending, fucking hell All it was missing was Cav winning in Paris. @wykikitoon you reckon Lefevere regrets his decision yet?
  18. I thought this way for the longest time but I fear Starmer won't turn the country round, it will just get worse a bit slower. If Labour get into power without facing the truth, winning the argument and implementing an agenda that actually makes people's lives better, then the party will be dead. They will get the blame for the shitstorm that is coming. It won't be fair but they will deserve it. I doubt Labour will win an election again If they can't win the argument and they lose the election the shit will be on the Tories, and Labour can remind them at every turn. We cant turn the country round without being honest about the problems I'm not saying rejoin the EU btw, even I don't think that's arguable now, but that should be long term aim, secretly if necessary. But for now it's impossible for Labour to government successfully without being honest about the problems Look at the US, Biden got in purely by not being Trump, he's done nothing to make anybodies life better and the Republicans are going to charge back into power and carry on destroying the country Tl;Dr we are fucked either way, but if Labour get in without a plan we are fucked forever
  19. If Labour can't win the argument that these border delays are caused by brexit then they don't deserve to be in power. They don't have to say they are undoing it or are rejoining, but if they can't explain the problem they won't be able to fix it
  20. I would like to get on this train also Please and Thankyou
