You've got to look back at his injury record though. Would he have got 1st team games if he'd been available? I'd have to say probably. Pardew, Carver & McClaren more likely to take a punt on him as he's a more prototypical winger, certainly more than they are to trust Cabella/Thauvin etc. Given that, surely he'd fancy his chances of getting a 1st team shot at the likes of West Brom?

Which doesn't give a full picture imo Personally, I think PpG is an important stat to be aware of, as is a comparison between long, mid and short term form, I like to see home v away records, and so on. -
Camp X-Ray, apparently. I'll give it a go.

It is important, but it doesn't give the full picture until after the final day completes. Hell, the current table will be out of date in less than 8 hours. time. -
Has she shown any acting ability? (Obviously outside of the Glampire movies)

Wanna put some money on it? I assert that; If Aarons goes in the summer, he'll be approached by a team that is average or better (By English Premier League standards).

You disagree that Rolando Aarons would be picked up by an average Premier league club if he were to see out his contract? Because that's why I said. You disagree that he believes he's good enough to win a starting place in the Premier league? Because that's why I said. Oh and you didn't take anybody to task on anything, old bean. Hope this helps.

I probably will do, but remind me if I forget. -
Read my post again. I said that he'll believe he can start games, so why would he choose to stay with Newcastle in the Championship. Stay off the lunchtime buckfast binge mate

It's like people are actually voting for Richard Littlejohn
-
If he doesn't sign, he could be picked up by someone like Everton, or maybe a bigger club will take a punt on a free, promising youngster. He'll believe he's good enough to get enough 1st team action, no matter where he goes. So why would he stay for guaranteed 1st team games in the Championship, when he could get 1st team games in the Premier League?

Well, objectively, based on results, Norwich and sunderland have 24pts from 28 games, Swansea have 27 from 27. That's 0.86 and 1.00 PpG. Newcastle have 24pts from 26 games, 0.92 PpG. -

They are. And I don't doubt that they're difficult games. But it's still 2 extra fixtures where we could get points. Norwich, sunderland, Swansea would all love the chance to add to their points total with an extra 2 fixtures. -

And a lot more money, if I'm not mistaken.

He'd probably have accepted less if we were guaranteed to be in the top flight next season. As it stands, I can't blame him for wanting a move, nor can I blame the club for holding off on offering a big contract to someone who, as you say, has only played a few good games for us and has a suspect injury record.

Yeah He beat them 4-1 at their gaff in April last year, but then this season he lost 0-1 at home in November to a Defoe goal, apparently- 10610 replies

I think this is the crux of the difference between us. I look at the wins and good performances against West Brom, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Stoke etc. for hope, you look at the losses and poor performances (of which there are many) for doom. I'd say the answer will likely lie somewhere in between. We've 2 games in hand as the table stands and people were sure we'd be 3points adrift by now, but the other relegation teams are just as shit as we are and have remained within reach. An unlikely win against Stoke and we're level on points with Swansea, with a game in hand. A draw will take us out of the relegation zone. Even the likely loss means we're still level on points with 17th. -

As long as we can win our home games against the bad teams in the league we'll stay up. We can benefit from trips to Norwich & Villa as well. -
