Bad news if he wants to go at all. Fucking desperate if he wants to go now! I say we would have to make him stay til the summer at least!
-
That's the way it's going to be under Ashley. The only hope is that he lets us reinvest the money we make on these transfers and eventually it amounts to enough to spend more on players and keep the ones we already have. I wouldn't hold my breath on that though!

Most players go whatever club they go to just for the money. I wouldn't let it worry you!

We paid to get me mate on stage with the birds there on his stag doo (after we'd handcuffed him to the ferry and paid for him so back and forth ten times. Some lasses took pitty on him and gave him some poppers so he was happy enough). They then got one of me other mates up for free the cheeky sluts!
-
The big difference is I'm not recommending him. I'm just describing what I saw on internet clips. Well that and the fact that I have absolutely no power within the club!
-
Is Matt Spiro a reliable source? I can't see us splashing out that sort of money on another leftback as long as we have Santon!

Hooper always looks a stone overweight to me (me being the Adonis I am!)
-
Just done a bit of youtube scouting and he look pretty skillful and seems to score a fair few different types of goal. From the clips that are on there he doesn't look like a poacher type of player and often seems to be out on the flanks. Looks interesting.

I think he just made a bit of a connection with Tremel as he went past. Completely accidently and the ball was never there for him to get.

The Flying Scotsman just next to Kings Cross leaps to mind. Went there after the QPR game at the end of the promotion season. Only just pipped as the worst bar I've ever been in by the Westbourne Club in Walker. The first lass on was crying her eyes out when she left the stage. She and the others definitely weren't cracking!

If we'd went after Cisse last season in a position like the one we're in now we'd have probably ended up needing another couple of million to sign him. We've backed ourselves into a corner allowing us to be down to Cisse and Shola as the only senior strikers on the books so it's obvious to everyone we're desperate. Yet again there seems to be no forward thinking from us!
-
Ashley saw last season that he can take a risk with a small squad and it can work fine. I'd like to think he will realise that we got very lucky with that and put the money in so we're not relying on luck to get us through this season. I fear he won't though and probably just thinks we've been unlucky so far this season!

Don't think it was a dive at all. Never a pen either like.
-
For the last three seasons before this one he seems to have a record of a goal in about every 2.5 games. That's a record you'd be happy with alongside Cisse.

Hasn't Remy been out injured for a while and only recently coming back into the picture?
-
I completely understand that we were never going to make this level of purchase until Ba leaving was confirmed but that happened on Friday (at the latest) and I would say that the bid should have gone in then. I accept that then Remy would have to make the decision (although the way these things usually work seems to be that a player is sounded out as to whether he would be interested before a bid is made so I would assume we already know if he's remotely interested) but from what we are being told in the press, we are still readying the bid. I just can't understand what there is to ready. Surely we should have had all of our ducks in a row so that the bid could be made immediately and as long as the player or his club didn't stretch it out (neither of which seems to be the case at this stage) we should have at least been speaking to him by now.
-
That's a bit of a nothing quote really. He's hardly issuing a massive denial that he's leaving. I agree that it seems ridiculous that we haven't been able to put a bid together for anyone yet. We've known for months that there was a fair chance Ba would be on his way so surely we should have been ready to jump straight into action once Ba's departure was confirmed. We should have also been preparing a bid for another striker if Ba was staying anyway because Ba & Cisse with Shola and Ranger as backup was never enough!

Makes Ryder look like a proper journalist!

Yeah I can't believe that never came up in Obertan's medical. It's clear to anyone who's seen him play that he has a massive problem there!
-
Well exactly How much money has he got (or did he have)? That last pay off he's been saddled with is unreal.
-
Yeah I know it's not great like but while I don't buy into the whole 'if Car's scouted him he must be great', I am more inclined to believe we know more about someone we're looking like attempting to spend circa £10m on than whoever wrote that. I'd love us to be going for someone who I knew a lot more about and was confident would be a success but I can't say I can think of any realistic target who would improve us so I will have to back our scouts to have done their job properly.

People who go on about the extra to spend on the wages of a replacement player (mainly the chairman) conveniently forget about the wages saved from the player that has left. This was particularly annoying when Carroll left and they were keen to take the wages of any new player from the £35m but no mention was ever made of the saving from what they were paying Carroll in the first place. They also talked of the new contract for Tiote as if it was all extra expense. Was he not getting paid anything before that? The money saved from Smith alone in the summer and then Xisco next summer as well as Ba (who given that we got him on a free must have made him one of the top earners at the club) must surely provide a very good starting point for paying for new recruits without driving up our wages to anything near a problem!
-
They'll need even more money to pay for Berlusconi's ex!
-
I don't know anything about that site but I have to say that I don't think it's a particularly well thought out article on most of the players mentioned. It strikes me that whoever wrote it doesn't know a lot about any of the players on the list.

We all know exactly what Shola is!
