  1. That little dwarf they had on backing up Fletcher was worse than he was last season when all he did was shoot from distance. Says a lot about their team when at home in a derby game when they were supposedly as close to us as they'd been in years, they still started with only one up front! O'Neil knows they're shit and he's setting them up to try and nick points every game.
  2. It seems fairly evenly split and I think the fact that you've got people making reasonable arguments for both sides means that it wasn't a clear cut case either way. I for one think the ref was shit but I can understand the decision he made even if I don't agree with it.
  3. You had to be happy we held on by the end but you also have to be disapointed we didn't beat a significantly inferior team!
  4. We looked like a far superior team from the start and their lack of invention once we were down to ten men showed that. Their two wingers should have been tearing into us but they simply weren't capable. Their centre was always going to be inferior to ours and was even when we had Perch in there. Fletcher was shown up to be the average player he is too!
  5. We would but fans scream for a red for any remotely bad challenge these days. It was a strong challenge and foul and I think that's why Pardew has said what he has and why we won't appeal. But in all honesty it's a yellow. Anyone saying that if Fletcher's foot was planted he could have broke his leg is not making a valid point because if his leg was planted he wouldn't have got the ball ahead of Tiote so he wouldn't have made that contact. And there is no way he went in with his studds as he's going in side footed and by that he wasn't out of control. If it had been a stamp type movement, the photo Stevie posted would have been showing him going in with his studds but that simply wasn't the case. I also think all this talk about him needing to controll himself better is valid in general and if he had been able to do this earlier in his career I don't think he would have got sent off yesterday. But I don't think the challenge yesterday is a good example of him being reckless or anything. Yes the whistle had gone so he didn't need to make the tackle but I think he was already comitted to it. All it was, was slightly mistimed as Fletcher got there before him. These things happen all the time and should never be a sending off for me.
  6. Just heard Le Tissier describe Tiotes challenge as studds into the knee. I've always known he was clueless but I didn't realise he was blind too! It was the side of Tiotes boot that made contact with the makem and if his knee is half way down his shin the he needs to go to the doctor!
  7. Can't be arsed to respond with anything more than fuck off to that.
  8. Hes trying to be too unbiased. It wasn't that high and it was anything but nasty. It did look worse from the refs angle to be fair to him though.
  9. Fucking hell I'd be embarassed to celebrate that if I was them. We were looking like we would destroy them before a ridiculous sending off. If I'm not mistaken they managed one attempt at goal all game against ten men. After Tiotes sending off Mingolet had more to do than Krul! They are small time and always will be with that sort of team. From us I thought Colo and Ben Arfa were magnificent and considering he's poor Williamson was also strong. If that's what they're about (and from what I've seen of them so far this season it is) theyll hover just above the relegation spots!
  10. Logic plays no part in a makems life. Much the same as cleanliness!
  11. Well I'm hoping that Taylor punches the winner in from an offside position in the sixth minute of added time. Well done for coming on here with some reasonable banter instead of the fuck offs like Fish got on the smb
  12. I see Warnocks had a sly dig at him Jones has been going on about offensive chanting. Something about him being a saville I assume?
  13. No it's called trying to better yourself. There's no need to be ashamed of it!
  14. Aye with his injury record he'll be out for six month!
  15. We all know that the height if any makems ambition is to trade up to a Geordie!
  16. Tbf that's an improvement on most afternoons in the bridges!
  17. Oh aye and tombola was tasteful! I think there's been many occasion over the past twenty years when the quality of our teams has been much closer than what it is now. On paper we're miles better. Two seasons ago we were much closer (and won 5-1). Mind you the same could have been said at the time of the playoffs and we know how that turned out!
  18. All I know is how obsessed you lot are (speaking as someone who's worked in the dark side for years). Never hear a word about your own team but never shut up about whats happening with us.
  19. Fuck rangers Celtic! This is the only one that I care about. I don't buy when people say they don't care (well I suppose it makes sense to fans from outside the area like Ant). I don't give a fuck about the scum in my general life but these are massive games and there's no point denying it.
  20. I watched the Liverpool and west ham (and arsenal) games and if anything you were the lucky ones. In each game you deserved fuck all the way you played. It was understandable against arsenal as you were away against a quality team but it inexcusable against a poor Liverpool side and a team just promoted. Personally I won't make a prediction. On paper I feel we're considerably better but anything can happen on the day. You're just as likely to all of a sudden find a performance against us and we might be the ones who don't turn up for a change. Wont change a thing about who are better though
  21. The defence is quite strong when we have colo, Taylor and Tiote all playing. We just haven't had that so far.
  22. Larson is a player I'd have in our squad but he wouldn't play ahead of ben Arfa, Tiote or Cabaye. And going one nil up really led to your wins against swansea the bin dippers and wist am didnt it?
  23. Johnson is your best player but he plays where we play Ben Arfa so he would play for me. Fletcher is more in form than Cisse but he's not as good a player so no again. Your midfield aren't close to the quality of Cabaye and Tiote and Krul is comfortably better than (an admittedly improved) Mingolet. That leaves the defence. Browns never fit so I wouldn't consider him, santons better than whoever you're playing left back now, Simpsons average but bardsleys no better, bramble is still bramble. O'Shea is possibly better than Taylor, I never thought he was up to standard at manure but maybe he's an overall solid player. Him and Ses maybe but I think our forwards are better tbh. Footballs not played on paper though and derbys are even more unpredictable.
