I think the big problem about including Rooney in the squad is that the player lists have to be submitted in two weeks time (May 15th). Selecting a player who might or might not return four weeks later will be a huge gamble.

There was a good Henry Winter article in todays Torygraph about the difference of characters between Eriksson and Scolari and why latter had disaster written all over him.
