1. He'd be stupid not to be tempted if the story is true. Wenger is probably the best manager in Europe when it comes to developing young talent and N'Zogbia would fit in perfectly at Arsenal. Hopefully he will sign an improved contract with us in the summer, that way we will at least get a bit more money for him if he leaves. 130070 http://www.southtynesidetoday.co.uk/ViewAr...ticleID=1474886
2. I don't think it is of any relevance for Newcastle's season anymore. But England fans can be happy.
3. The way he beat the three defenders yesterday when I saw it on the replay, he looked for all the world like Maradona (don't laugh! ). The balance and the way he completely bewildered the defenders, plus the fact he's a barrel chested shortarse. Later on someone on the radio commented on it and mentioned "shades of Maradona", so I wasn't the only one. 129887 Jesus wept. These are the signs of an upcoming World Cup. English people getting totally crazy again. What's next? Peter Crouch showing Pele-esque touches? 129898 I didn't say he's as good as Maradona, you tool! I said the balance and the way he beat the players and his build made him LOOK like Maradona. And someone else obviously thought the same for them to have said it on the radio. So shut it. 129900 Still a daft comparison. The only one looking like Maradona is probably you.

5. My nipples explode with delight!
6. I think the big problem about including Rooney in the squad is that the player lists have to be submitted in two weeks time (May 15th). Selecting a player who might or might not return four weeks later will be a huge gamble.
7. Rooney missing the World Cup would be crooel for the tabloid's headline writers.
8. FFS Titus alone in front of the keeper!
9. Pompey are 2-1 up. Maybe if Birmingham have to throw up all front, we get some decent chances on the counter attack. Otherwise I can't see us score a goal.
10. Sounds like it, yes. Hopefully we'll see a Mackem-like second half revival. 129575 They have it on the Premiere conference today and are switching to it every couple of minuted. So far we have been looking as threatening as the Swiss Guard...
11. We are playing absolutely rubbish btw.
12. Very strange, consdering we have two defenders there. I think the reason is more than "he's not good enough" 129560 Roeder blatently doesn't fancy him. 129561 His treatment of Luque is a bit questionable nevertheless. Leaving him on the bench last weekend and dropping him today propbably immidiately destroyed the tiny chance of Luque's confidence coming back after scoring against the mackems.
13. Me too, one of the top 5 in the World in my eyes, never mind England, the whole World Cup as a spectacle will miss seeing his talents on view 129545 Exactly. I was looking forward to see him at the World Cup (though, the Rooneymania by the English exiles here had already become really annoying...).
14. Looks like I wasn't totally wrong (there are now 17 places left)... http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...-name_page.html
15. Nah, considering Wigan are doing so much better than Fulham. He's the guy that wanted to play for Germany in the world cup, no? 129327 Yes, but this is something that has never been considered here. At least it never made the press.
16. He was never offered the Newcastle job anyway...
17. There was a good Henry Winter article in todays Torygraph about the difference of characters between Eriksson and Scolari and why latter had disaster written all over him. Eriksson at least always staid calm despite all the stick he got from the press. Scolari was quoted that he would not sue a journa but just knock him out .... Wait, there is an idea: SCOLARI FOR NEWCASTLE (just to finish Robert's undone job).
18. The winners spot isn't an extra spot cos you aren't allowed more than 8 in Europe. So that has to come out of one of the spots we have. 129083 Hmm, I haven't got a hand on next year's regulations, so I don't know if they have changed something. But the current regulations state following: 1.07 If the UEFA Cup title-holders are not eligible to take part in either of the 2005/06 UEFA club competitions, the UEFA Administration may, at the request of the association of the club concerned, admit this club to the 2005/06 UEFA Cup. Its participation will not be at the expense of the contingent of its associations. (Those bastids from UEFA have protected the pdf so I couldn't do a copy&paste job and had to f***ing type this! ) I also haven't found any regulation saying that associations are not allowed to enter more than 8 teams to the competitions. What would happen if England won two additional places via the Intertoto Cup and fair play table? And I watched glimpses of the game between Sevilla and Schalke yesterday. Kanoute is injured currently. They still have Saviola and small neat playmaker Navas (sp?), but I think the final will be pretty open.

The other bad thing is that we could well do with the Smoggies getting a result against Bolton. But they will play a game every two days until the final. So I doubt they will face their first team players a lot...
20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_spor...key/4952822.stm I just watched glimpses of the game, but is this really the standard of hockey in England? I thought hockey down here was pretty shite nowadays... Anyway. Ner, ner, ner.
21. A simple 'No' would have done...
22. [clueless tosser]That is just because Roeder has all first team players back for selection.[/clueless tosser]
