As frustrating as the season has been so far it should be noted that a lot of teams are struggling with consistency. I can’t remember a season where so many teams are totally underperforming and struggling with confidence. Even Villa had a very poor start with people starting to question Emery and his recruitment until they went on another run and breeding confidence.

What a waste of a weekend this has been.

Not even possible to blame the ref. That’s a good indication how shit we have been.

It’s mental fatigue. In most games players just aren’t up to it. No movement, lack of concentration and lack of will. Most days players look like they can’t be arsed.

Neither intensity nor urgency. Again. Meh.

Our morale going into important matches stinks.

That’s my fault for posting bratwurst pictures.

Poor so far. A couple of players just haven’t turned up at all.

Gordon on the left and Elanga on the right have the ability to cause serious humiliation with their pace. Both looked very much improved to me recently. The game will be won in the centre of the park tbh. We do need to boss the midfield. We will need Joelinton just for his willingness to get involved physically. I would sacrifice either Bruno or Sandro for Miley who has performed really well recently. Bruno has been hit and miss and Tonali looked jaded. The thing we must not allow them to do is dominate the game and get the ground going. As long as we turn up and match their willingness to win we should be fine.

This. I mostly avoid reading match threads during matches these days.

I do fear for our goal difference now.

Frustrating. I told my daughter that we fecking use to concede fecking late fecking goals only a few seconds before wevlost shape and concentration again. We played well for large parts and a point is still a decent result but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. German commentators including were full of praise for large parts saying that it seems that it is just the beginning of the road for us.

We did ok. With several players you could see they are struggling due to the lack of match practice, especially Ramsey. I thought that Willocks passing and decision making let him down as well several times. Gordon‘s best game for ages and I thought Elanga did well to overall. Some good crosses with either foot and unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Biggest worry for me was the amount of corners we gave away putting us under pressure from them ourselves.

Having said this and they probably will probably score ten goals (or already have until this post is uploaded), but fucking hell Liverpool are crap these days.

We do still lack confidence both as a team but especially certain players individually. Without the necessary level confidence performances will always be very hit and miss. Losing games in a manner like today or against Marseille doesn’t help.

Because in those situations Romero did want it more with Burn being careless. One was attacking balls passionately trying to still get something out of the game while the other did raise his intensity to match it. If we had only shown glimpses of the same will in front of goal we might have actually got something out of our rather lame attempts.
