Hmm, the only home grown one who has a chance of being Newcastle United level long term is Adam Campbell. Your Shane Ferguson's, Vuckic's, they'll have good careers at a rung below us imo.
-
Superb from Bird.
-
The Simon Bird piece on the other thread repeats everything I say, but with a bit more diplomacy. Best N.E. journalist by a mile, incredible a journalist can be more in touch with the views of the fans than employees of the club.
-
Aye. You know what irritates the life out of me, when people go on about keeping players, from a financial point of view nothing changes, most of the players retain their value, and with this 5 year contract policy when we sign them, they're unlikely to lose their value anyway. It's not like say £10m on two players is throwing money away.
-
You've made a few good posts in this thread statto and this is another one, as is the one below.
-
I'm not too sure about Anita being signed RATHER than Debuchy, considering the second half against Villa was the first time he's played right back in his career. He's filled in at left back at Ajax before though, and we needed proper cover for Tiote anyway. You may not remember anyone being positive but there's a thread of people predicting where we'd come last season, and I said 6th. This season for my own reasons I've said 12th. Arsenal sold van Persie because he made it patently clear he wouldn't sign a new contract and in a short space of time would move for nothing rather than an astonishing £22m, no other reason. Everton are destitute, and Liverpool were so desperate to get rid of Carroll for footballing reasons they were prepared to write off £20m. Lastly, keeping not being particularly grateful for keeping Tiote is churlish? I couldn't disagree more. It's not even a bare bones requirement of a progressive football club to at least try to retain your best players.
-
I was more upbeat at this time last season. Being pleased Tiote is still here shouldn't even be a factor, it's like waking up and your cock still being there, "get in it's still here". Being grateful for not selling our best players is something I will never ever class as something I need to be pleased about. Unless we get stupid money for one of them, selling players at a club who claim to be moving forward shouldn't even be a question. The first eleven is alright, but there is literally nothing behind it at all, surely the momentum of 5th place should've seen us go in to the season stronger than we are. The Debuchy thing, to miss out on a top top right back, haggling over a million quid, well it's pathetic. I'm not expecting them to buy two players worth a combined £30m, just modest investment which more than likely we'd get back. This season of all seasons is and was an unbelievable opportunity. Before a ball was kicked I said Spurs would be midtable at best and it will take time for AVB's idea to be implemented, they'll get no where near top 4, Liverpool are so threadbare they could even be nearer 18th than 4th, Arsenal are the worst Arsenal we've seen in living memory. What a chance we've passed up, and you could sense before the Villa game there was a negative air about the place.

I'd say last season was more than any of us expected. We were generally a solid team, but Barcelona we were certainly not. In at least 10 games we got lucky, the margins between success and failure were tiny last season, we didn't hammer anyone for starters (other than Man Utd), suffered 4 and 5 goal maulings off the likes of Norwich, Tottenham, Fulham and Wigan, I'm not saying we didn't deserve 5th, but we could just have easily come 10th. I believe our attitude got us through rather than being that much better than the sides below us. There's been progress, but again the progress margin is tiny. If we had a scout performing far more poorly than Graham Carr, we'd have been 12th-16th and people would be saying the same things about Ashley we were saying 3 years ago. Little has changed other than he's rolled the dice a few times and got two sixes, we CAN NOT maintain it through stagnation, and Pardew's desperate attempts to get the fans to say well done Mike for consolidating and adding little, rather than consolidating adding to the squad, piss me off no end.
-
I don't think it's numbers so much as quality. The lads I've bolded are top 5 players on their day, the rest either aren't yet or just aren't.
-
Aye, spot on. I was quite drunk on Sunday night when I left town, and I tweeted a load of bollocks about Ashley being the anti-christ etc...but he is, I've never bought the clubs best interest at heart shite, he'll do anything to balance the books. Fair enough if you're Bill Kenwright, but not when you're a billionaire, and we had a wonderful chance to speculate to accumulate in this window because 5th, or even 4th is not beyond the realms of possibility, or wasn't.
-
Pardew isn't happy with the window. He said after Anita came in there could be another 1 or 2, he's not happy, all he's doing is not rocking the boat. It doesn't fool me.
-
LeazesMag would've had a field day with the lack of action in the summer window, and he'd have had a point. I'm all for them haggling, and getting the best priced deal, but losing Debuchy over a poxy million quid says a lot. The fact is without any doubt at all, Newcastle had to sell to buy, no sales no semi major purchases. You could say they don't want to get in to debt, but that fat bastard has £2,000,000,000 in assets, what is £10m quid for two players to bolster the squad. If Ashley had a choice between coming 12th and making £10m profit, or coming 5th and breaking even, he'd choose the profit every time.

Fuckin wronguns, uglier and more ginger than Swedes too.

I didn't know you were related to a victim of Brevik and I apologise for liking you to him. You're the nearest thing to him on here though looking at your views. Chez is spot on about socio-economic conditions being fundamental to this, rather than just skin colour. Having said that Bramble's got a few quid like. However, your point about political affiliations determining views on rape is beyond laughable.
-
Never once did he say he'd lost a family member in the initial explosion, yet allowed people to perhaps wrongly to continue calling him Brevik. Attention seeking cunt tbh.

Aye real ale is a killer, I think the darker a drink too, the worse the hangover, if the lager wasn't so wank in the ground I wouldn't have had Guinness. Did you see those tossers dressed as ThunderBirds?
-
3 Caffreys 2 Guinness 3 Grolsch 4 Bottle of Magners 1 Coors = + ""fing is wiv Mike peepuw dont realise aa much of is own money ee's invested, we aint got the maanee of a Villa or a Stowk City un peepuw dont realise this, they shud be fankful we've kept Shake n faakin Yohan, peepuw dont realise what a big cock Mike 'as anaw".
-
Aye I'm the median age I would guess at 34. Totally agree with Chez's crack about people should never say anything online they wouldn't say in person.
-
Why did Pards make 2 subs within 90 seconds of each other? Is he stupid, time was at a premium as well.

I think Villa were quality in the first half and looked more like the home team than we did. Football is a science. That might seem like a ridiculous ambiguous statement but there's much much more than, skill, fitness, tactics and ability at play. I believe there are unquantifiable things in football which are just as important. Momentum being one. Team spirit. Vibe. How happy the fans are. I honestly believe these are massively important factors. There was a downbeat feel to yesterday before it even kicked off, and I think that lies squarely at the feet of Mike Ashley. If any of you follow me on twitter, I apologise for my foul mouthed ranting about Ashley last night, but it's how I feel. 10 million quid, so we get a sense of moving forward when evidently we are short in many positions. I'm not saying it will stay like this, but I think it was a contributing factor to a game where if we played it again we'd probably win. Villa passed the ball really well, and reading their forums in the days leading up to the game its clear passing isn't their strength. They showed a lot more energy than we did, and were the better team till we equalised. Ben Arfa looked the only player who was going to break the door, I thought he was magnificent nearly every time he got the ball, he's the nearest thing in the BPL to Messi, and if he keeps going like he is, Fatty will be £30m better off in 4 or 12 months time. Disappointing draw, but fair play to Villa, thought Guzan was tremendous, he reminds me of Friedel not just cos he's yank. Quick word about he Villa fans. Ugliest fans I've ever seen, and "Geordie Shore is fuckin shit" isn't funny, we know it's shit you obese brummie meffs.

One of the blokes was typing like Paul Wyn man.

All proper Newcastle fans have been banned f You won't find any posting of why I was banned. Clearasil Online is what it is, they're not all wanks which is the nicest thing I can say about it.
-
I'm surprised they didn't take that to the police knowing NO
-
He said today "I'm quite pissed about this". No person from from Northern England would say anything other than "pissed off". That's a yankism, I doubt it is a yank though.
