  1. Aye like sitting in a box in the Milburn, that's right. I must've got that video Christmas 91, and he became manager about 6 weeks later.
  2. Just before Keegan took the job as Newcastle manager, he made a video called "Keegan's Greatest Newcastle XI". In it he picked who he thought was the greatest eleven to play for Newcastle, obviously At right back he chose David Craig (not the doilum who comes on your Sky News arselicking Ashley). He played for the toon for 16 years, I don't know anything about him, but I've read stuff suggesting he was the best right back in English football, for people who saw him is this right?
  3. Terry Mac 1981 Keegan 1977 Kluivert 1995 Andy Cole 1999 Nicky Butt 1999 Hamann 2005 Ronnie Simpson 1967 Frank Clark 1979 Peter Withe 1981
  4. I'll link Leazes in to this thread so he can read it, a thread made for Leazes this. I can't give an opinion on Irving Natrass as I wasn't born when he was played.
  5. His first was one of the best goals I'd seen at SJP at that point. 25 yard left foot volley in the top corner at the leazes end, he was only 18 at the time, everyone thought he'd be a world beater.
  6. I started going in 1985 when I was 7, and in the 80's probably saw 70 games maybe more. Kenny Wharton for me is looked back on positively by toon fans of that era, however, I can say in my opinion, he was fucking shite. He was hesitant, slow, awkward, and the fact he was a geordie from West Denton and had a deep love for the club overlooks how poor he was. He could play left back or midfield, but his best pal growing up Kevin Richardson was a million times better than him, he won 3 titles Richardson, used to play for Monty Boys Clue. He wouldn't have got a game or even in the squad at Liverpool, Everton, Forest, Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Sheff Wed, Villa..nen of them. His legendary ball sit hides a multitude of sins, as does his versatility. I accept older people than me are far up his arse, but for me he was shite.
  7. I love reading back through this thread, one of the best for a variety of hilarious posts from a wide variety of people. We can't all be wrong.
  8. Well there you have it. Proof at long last as to the reason why Robbie Savage hates us.
  9. Is that your mate aye?? I think you could make a comedy around him and his work to be honest. Like a geordie journo David Brent. The Fish could play Lee Ryder. I'd watch it. How many times have you went "he can't have just said that could he?". Even today there's a "You won't get anywhere in life with that attitude pal!" and also a "if you have any serious queries feel free to email me rather than getting tangled up in urban myths and notions about the press." Why does he get so defensive? Why? There must be a reason. Why does he rise to it every time. I wonder what his own self analysis of how he comes across would be, I hope he's massively deluded because if he's not he'll have massive mental problems imo.
  10. Haha I can't think of one, even then that would be 37-10000 in the time you've had an account on here you worldwide doilum.
  11. The new Leazes Mag son, and don't you forget it.
  12. "You're on a yellow card son." pmsl I don't know why but it just tickled me that. Parody ffs. There's not a day goes by without him making me laugh, always unintentionally too.
  13. I think when you've been brought up listening to mackem twangs it's easier. As soon as I hear a mackem accent though I want to pour concrete in my ears. It's awful. If I was an employer and I interviewed a Sunderland common "tewny", I'd be saying we'll be in touch after 10 minutes.
  14. Working in Sunderland when they beat us 2-1 both times at SJP, I beg to differ. Truthfully I refuse to believe VE day in London in 1945, was celebrated with more vigour than when they beat us. People cuddling each other at work and everything.
  15. “San Lorenzo will wait for him until the end of this week. If he can’t solve this situation, we will go for another player" Well we're not talking to him till Monday. So they can do one. Cheeky twats. Unless his wife has ebola, poor form this from Colo.
  16. You have to work in Sunderland for a few years to understand the mentality of mackems. Imagine if there was a place in Mexico where people haven't really been found by the outside world for 20,000 years, they evolve differently according to their environment, eating habits etc...and can't fully integrate in to the outside world, well that's exactly how I found mackems. They haven't evolved and they have to be seen to be believed. Their attitudes are more 1960's than 1980's even, I refuse to believe there's a more insular group of people anywhere in Europe where there city has more than 200,000 people. Amazing they're 11 miles away and they're completely nothing like us.
  17. "Anyone who thinks aeris isn't a lass get out now"
  18. He was absolutely shite last night Graham, gave it away every time he got it. His mind may well be elsewhere....
  19. I never ever care about them. They can do what they want. Success for Newcastle is coming in the top 5 or 6, if they come first I couldn't care less. They're an insignificance who have come in the top ten THREE times in 64 years, why should we notice them. Don't get me wrong people from Newcastle massively and arrogantly look down their nose at them, but I feel people from Gateshead, Durham, South Tyneside, Boldon, Washington etc... care a lot more about them than we do. I'll say it again because it never sinks in, Sunderland have come in the top 10, THREE times in SIXTY FOUR years. Even if they had one fluke season, history dictates that they'll be shite again soon enough. At least when we have our moments we're generally fuckin very good.
  20. TBF same as The Fish, as soon as I saw TS I had no intention of listening. He didn't specify who it was, it could've been Louise Taylor or anyone. Vickery is very good normally granted.
  21. Ah whey that's it then.
  22. I was using "half" metaphorically, but a claimed 12m fans in one country is probably unequalled in Europe.
  23. Ho ho ho. Yawn. You don't think they're a plastic club Meenzer? 1860 were the main club of Munich and Bavaria prior to the late 60's?
  24. He was on 36k a week at Portsmouth where he had 2 years left on his deal.
