when a team of derby's standard score a quarter of their goals after 18 games, in one game (away from home) you have to stand up and wonder is Sam the right man. Why are you comparing martins to drogba and rooney who might i add are miles better than martins playing for obviously better teams. The fact is he is playin shite in a position he is completely unfamiliar to (even tho sam keeps playin him there). When he plays up front he usually delivers. He may be a hit or miss striker but he damn well hits more often then every other striker at the club. And considering shevchenko has scored 5 goals in 16 apps, martins with 7 in 20 (all comps for both), i dont see why we should even attempt to purchase a player playing at a better club in the latter stages of his career with a similar goal to games ratio

Get some young talent in next month, dont buy "once has beens" please. Some of his buys didn't work out so far, most of them were second choices tbf. Name me the first choice for the following players then please: Barton Smith Cacapa Rozehnal Beye Enrique I'd love to know who we were really after. Apart from Ben-Haim I can't think of anyone else. Ben Haim is absolutely shite, he has been diabolical for chelsea and would be another recipe for disaster. The only player i can think of that hasnt shown himself up is Beye. For me, he's been fantastic and at minimum very reliable in every game as yet. Were in desperate need of a centre half, a top flair centre mid and perhaps a striker/winger.
