SAFC fans get given best behaved award by the PremierLeague
JawD replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Worst people in the country mate, always have been always will be, quiet as mice heads down outside the ground too. You know whats funny as fuck? and not just Liverpool either. When you come outside in to concourse next to the away fans exit, there is a police barrier. Often the away fans are being aggressive, chanting to us, beckoning us over etc and the police line keeps you apart. 30yards later both sets of fans mingle as you walk down to the road and their coaches. Not a peep -
Well, bottom line is we dont factually know exactly what the players are on over what period and therefore what exactly is in the pot. For all we know he could save £20M and bullshit us saying they have spent the £35M and more and we'd be non the wiser. In fact, thats exactly what Id expect them to do. If they can ship a few out and bring a few in, have arguably a stronger first 11 (I expect more kids to make up the squad) and lower the wage roll they'll be happy. Is that such a bad thing? depends if we make progress on the pitch.
-
Remember if you are tracking the £35M from AC sale you need to take wages into account. So Cabaye £4.5M (approx) if you assume £30K pw over 5 years (£7.8M) is total £12.3M. you can see how that £35M wont go very far..

What a fucking piss take. Man Utd, Liverpool, Mackems. All their fans had one thing in common last season. They ALL were hoying bottles and stuff from L7 to us below. Liverpool were the worst offenders but all 3 were doing it. -
Depends what you call a top striker and how much money you mean. I dont think 6-10M will be an issue but dont expect to see >£10M The net figure is irrelevant until the window closes. We could sell Enrique for £15M yet and make it (£14.7M) spend

Nolan didnt HAVE to go. We can tell him he wont get a game and he still doesnt HAVE to go. All that shite about ending his career here. I tend not to take much notice of it tbh. Same as Barton now. I'd love him to stay anyway, he doesn't need to come out with the usual sound bites. No different to kissing the badge imo. Personally I think he's went as West Ham offered the length of contract we wouldnt, he'll likely be club captain, it's under Fat Sam again and they are likely to be in the Prem next season. I've nothing against him, he needs to look after his own interest and at his age he needed the longer contract and we didnt want a 33yr old on the books thats hard to shift. Makes sense for both parties apart from one thing. He has been one of our best players (last season) and as much as he didnt HAVE to go, surely we didnt HAVE to sell. Works both ways. you have to assume the club is happy with the m/f options for next season and he didnt picture. I think it's meant to be called progress.
-
Our forward options at the moment are woeful. I'd welcome this land in addition to someone else. Simple as that really.

A few good signings and we'll be back on track to trying to push for a solid top 10 even 8. A few cheap signings and we'll be penny pinching and looking at relegation again A couple of strikers signed and we'll forget all about Nolan, wondering where he'd have fit in anyway A couple of strikers signed and we'll be saying they still need to prove themselves We'll be running around this circle for months to come with the same arguments being said again and again, over and over. Oh the fucking joy

But you'd have to be making a profit on every game, particularly home matches. No need to pay the players any/much more (pending appearance bonuses) and at the very least you get a chance to give your young players a chance to step up - that's assuming you don't care about having a shot at winning it. If you go for it and it stretches a small squad at the expense of the league then it could be negative but with careful planning and good use of young players there's no reason why it can't help to develop the squad and enhance the European profile all whilst making the club money. No brainer - you'd have to be excessively arrogant or poorly managed as a club to knock it back IMO. Ta da!
-
I'd happily watch her with one Oooh, Dido....
-
According to Culkin the offer we made him was full of conditions regarding his option extension, like if we finished top 10 and such. But, 1.5M if thats true that seems fucking insane? For that amount you would assume there is another part to the deal somewhere?
-
Fucking hell If this went through we'd need a shit load of new players and have £55M or so to spend. I'm resigned to losing Enrique and Jonas gets stick near every week. I'd usually say so long as the money is reinvested but if you make this many changes how long will it take for the side to gel?
-
Only other thing is that last season it was exposed how small our squad was. Replacing one for one would still leave us thin on the ground. We need more coming in than going out, plenty of time for that to happen ofc.
-
Agree with that like. As Ive said earlier. My concern isnt the loss of Nolan the player, but Nolan the Captain.
-
Tough one. Taylor was getting back into the side at the end of last season but I think his head would explode if he got it. Tiote seems too quiet and not an obvious choice. I reckon Colo.
-
We signed a French international who took his place in the starting 11 too. Agree with Brenner ahbout him regretting it, think Gold and Sullivan are total mugs and there is no way on earth West Ham will find life easy in the championship. I wish Nolan all the luck in the world but it sounds like he has moved to get a pay rise this coming season. If they dont come straight back up, its a fucking awful move. Ah! But Nolan might not have played as much because we've got Cabaye. Well lets just hope that Cabaye can lead his team, can get 12 PL goals, can adapt to the PL like a duck to water, will never get suspended, homesick, be mis-quoted in the French press or get any injuries. Some fucking hope there, then! Ah! But Nolan only scored 2 once Carroll was sold and dropped back into a more midfield role earlier in the season. Also where we assume you would have played next season. Nolan didnt play ever game either by the way and Shola will be the new captain so nothing to fear
-
Totally agree. I know it sounds like I'm supporting the move, I'm not really. Im puzzled why we'd sell him now and not next year if he still has 2 years left. but, we can't judge until the window closes and we can see what we have. As it stands, we have fuck all. Most influential player now gone and best forward gone. But, I'll remain calm until I see who we bring in.
-
Brenner seems to be pinning it on Nolan. Maybe he likes to feel like a big player and seen his options becoming limited with us but would be a major player for them?
-
Pretty much how I feel. If we sign two forwards (plus having Ben Arfa) and with Cabaye signing, we need another MF to cover for Tiote when he is banned. You can start to see how Nolan wouldnt fit in. A few IF's there like but I dont feel it's the end of the world some do. It is the leadership that would concern me more than missing him on the field.
-
Fuck me you lot are depressing
-
Hang on I've said that. Getting as bad as LM
-
indeed, it will be interesting to see how they finance this stadium, will they save the money up first as some people on here appear to be saying we ought to have done [reject anything that Fred did etc etc] I will still laugh if their buying backfires, but I'm still laughing at those who are using the actual aims of Liverpool as something to justify our decision to play 2nd rate in the transfer market - again, reject anything Fred did etc etc. Whatever success Dalglish has or otherwise, it doesn't take away the fact that they are speculating and even if it takes another manager to operate more successfully in the transfer market, its still the way to do it and its still the way the big clubs should be competing. Reading today though that they need a massive clearout to fund these purchases.
-
Its not as simple as the club saying we want to sell him though. He rejected a contract and moved for more money? Doesnt Distin get stick off us for the same? He may be a 12 goal midfielder but dont forget much of that was as a second striker almost. Difficult to find the truth. Some say he has gone for money, some as he had too much influence, other as he wanted too long a contract. He is replaceable, but my fear is the knock on effect to the other players.
-
Our lack of striking options pushed him into a more forward role and him floating behind a forward unmarked made this is best season for us. With Ben Arfa fit and other signings I could imagine his role being limited next season. As many have suggested, I think the biggest impact would be his apparent leadership and the hole that will leave. Also the timing is bad as these are the sort of players that would make the likes of Enrique think we are not looking to progress. But like we keep saying, need to wait until the end of the window to judge. He needs to have some good answers though.
-
Read in the news earlier today that they will be offloading a bunch of players though to recoup some of the costs.
