Cisse so out of form... And Cabaye FFS trying to kick the skin off the ball...
-
Anita seems a MUCH better player in wide positions. Has no left foot though.
-
Williamson has been everywhere. Cleared from just off the line there.
-
Fucking great run and ball Ben Arfa, lovely calm finish from Ba.
-
Cabaye's pretty poor form is continuing this far.
-
Ben Arfa good tracking back to force the error after he turned it over. Anita has gone back to fullback thankfully. Perch into where he seems to do well.
-
Williamson has had a busy time of it so far. Good punch clear from Harper there.
-
They're trying to exploit our lack of pace at the back.
-
Bassong heading off injured after copping an accidental boot from Ba. Michael Turner replaces him.
-
On Telly over here so no help from me. Noone marking them in the box there, we were lucky not to concede. Norwich outspent us this summer.
-
Sneaky ball from Jonas feeding Santon - decent cross.
-
Harper Perch Saylor Willo Santon Anita Cabaye Jonas HBA Cisse Ba Tiote on the bench, Marveaux dropped.
-
4-3-3 aka HBA freedom to roam.
-
Think the commentator just called SJP first direct arena... before noting that it's still called SJP anyway.
-
Super-sub Henderson.... Prepare for..... mediocrity.
-
Don't know why I mentioned the possibility of Coloccini being back for this.. Jumped the gun there. Hope Tiote can drop back to prevent the Taylor and Willo hoofs from being too prevalent.
-
...and Enrique benched for the dippers again. Dream move that one.
-
Should be an interesting 15 minutes in this before our match.
-
Hope that Tiote is really back along with Coloccini. The two of them there should really facilitate our ability to maintain possession, playing it out from the back.

Maritimo v Newcastle United --- 20/09/2012

Good to hear of a positive performance from Elliot for once. Adequate result given how many players were rested - though we really need to get a win on the weekend to have justified that approach. -

Finally got around to watchin No Country For Old Men last night. Enjoyable well shot picture with plenty of signs of Coen. Not an immediately rewarding watch in the typical sense, but it has a lot of talking points. I found some of the developments to be a little contrived simply to tell the story that the author wanted to tell (assuming it is true to the book here). Great movie monster and on the whole an enjoyable thought provoking watch. Paris, Texas sounds the business. Will add that to my list.

More or less. Not the right game for Marveaux. At the moment I see him as a more skilfull Wayne Routledge. Anita's long balls were frustrating; as soon as Perch came into the midfield we retained posession better as he looked for percentage passes rather than lofting balls into the box. The long balls aren't reason to write him off. He's had to hit the ground running and on balance he's been good considering how little he has played with the rest of the team and how varied his deployment has been.
