  1. I'm up to 7 minutes now...when does the intro finish you cunt? The world's first ever techno record imo, written in 1971.
  2. A bit of love for the Germans, fucking love this record. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbAWBElA6dA
  3. In no way I said or wanted to suggest that there isn't any rivalry. Of course England is seen as a rival - how could it not looking at the history of the teams and those classic matches? Of course there is a fair share of idiots thinking of English people as "Inselaffen" but then I think the predominant feeling of the gereral public towards England rather is one of respect. And as much as our only tabloid (Bild Zeitung) is probably trying to stir things up a bit themselves, people are not getting as agitated about the match as English people do. It's a match at the knock-out stage of the World Cup, it's a match against a good team and an old rival. But in the end that's it. It's totally different to the climate a match against the Dutch would create, which would indeed bring out the awfully worst from the German majority. You can also argue that a match against Italy - another rival - would bring out more venom from the common "kleine Deutschländer". I was thinking about what the European equivalent of Brazil - Argentina was last night, as i was trying to explain to our lass how big the game was. I said (i promise) that Germany - Italy probably should be considered the biggest game in Europe because of their respective tournament records but for us, Germany is the biggest. I then continued that, its also about the history between the teams and the perception of under-performing, or bad luck (penalities etc) from us that means a victory in an important match is due but it fell on deaf ears as by this time, she'd fallen asleep.
  4. Another thing. The German attitude of 'we dont care about England, its not really a rivalry' is the epitome of arrogance for me too. We beat them possibly unfairly in 66 and that still gets discussed, we have been involved in great classic games together. Their stand alone record at major tournaments is irelevant to the rivalry. Its the results between us that matter. If Germany dont consider England one of their main international rivals then who is for them? You cant ignore history, they started wars which decimated millions and millions of people, in my view denying the rivalry is, in part, denying their past.
  5. Based on what Stevie? World War II? I've never thought of the Germans as less humane than the British, if anything quite the opposite. I don't know the place and people as well as you, but it seems a tad extreme. The German people I've met have always seemed bang on, if a little starchy.... Lots of things. I've met loads of germans, they are calculated, humourless, cold and boring. We are a more emotive people without a doubt. I'll never forget Brehme's tackle on Gazza, it was done to make him react and get him sent off, calculated in an evil German way. They still have that nazi inprint stained across their very fibre, a sinister, cold way about them, this view isn't ignorance, it's what I see. They are more efficient, more organised, more staid in every walk of their life and less likely to make mistakes, they are robotic and mechanical, we are emotional and culpable. I mean look at these. I think this picture says it all. Look at the state of the jeans the one in the middle is wearing. There are two types of Germans and i've worked for them both. Am sure i mentioned my old German boss on here a few time. One word. Cunt. The last German boss i had was probaly the most mannered, polite and genuinely nice person i have met. Just on that photo Stevie, whilst agreeing with the broad brush picture you paint of our two peoples, how exactly does that photo prove the point or follow on? (Two of them have got 4 tits each and the black girl on the end looks she has two bin-liners filled with water down her top btw) I also wanted to pick up on Isegrim characterising the nationalistic attitude as 'little englanders' as if such attitudes dont exist in Germany? They wrote the book on nationalistic fervour and i'm sure the Kleiner Deutschlander have their own take on the match.
  6. Does it have 3 Lions on the breast pocket? That would be classy.
  7. Mine? I thought you were referring to Parky's comments about immigration from Italy, not the fact that they had just conceded. Or maybe you were? You know what, it doesnt matter
  8. The last 2 posts make no sense. EDIT the ones before hush-puppy's.
  9. This debate about bias is bollocks since a fundamental truth about the right and left is that their philosophies and policies lead to different outcomes. Always have done, always will do. The preference to have a redistributive, egalitarian society where built-in injustices (starting points) are actively addressed isnt a bias, its a principle.
  10. Aye, steroids dont work straightaway, you need about 4 days of use to sort out the hayfever. I would go for Flixonase not Beconase anyway, fluticasone was designed to be more effective than beclamethasone. Not that i used to sell them or anything, Rents advice is probably more objective.
  11. That would be an aggression too far for me.
  12. Swedes are mental http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/201...nts-baby-gender
  13. Not getting hammered but going out to them in a close game having beaten the Germans would be a very decent world cup for me.
  14. Bands with the words 'panda' 'bear' 'beach' and 'club' in their title. That narrows it down to about 300 new bands.
  15. So says Toontastic's very own Kenneth Clark.
  16. If history is to repeat itself a 3rd time we need a Russian on the eastern touchline.
  17. http://www.newstatesman.com/economy/2010/0...ctor-budget-obr To return to one of your previous questions to me CT about why people should agree with me about the stimulus when everyone says we have to cut: please see a supporter of my view in the first paragraph below. I have highlighted some points of interest.
  18. CT what point are you making about targets by quoting those pressure groups? None of them back up the point of view that targets per se are bad or should be reduced, they only make the point that everyone has agreed to, some are bad and create bad incentives. The fact that Docs, Nurses etc are critical of specific targets means that the target needs more thought. On the debate as to whether targets are required, i wouldnt canvass the opinion of frontline workers. Targets are about the 'accountable use of tax resources' to ensure that what we spend on healthcare is done in a rational, fair and efficient manner. Asking frontline staff to decide on targets is like Sony telling retailers, price the PS3 how you would like to.
  19. Yep. There are two scenarios: Rooney plays like he does for Man U at his best and scores, we win; Rooney plays like he has been playing and we draw/go out on penalties/lose. God only knows what will happen but am not feeling like we are beaten yet.
  20. It was the GPs who designed the primary care targets, they led to massive increases in payments associated with trivial activity. GP's wages rocketed after the last major contract negotiation with the government. The BMA aren't objective, they are a pressure group representing the interest of doctors.
