  1. Its not just tackles though, the same chalkboard shows simpson made 5 blocks and interceptions compared to Enriques 1. You may remember one of them was when Walcott was virtually clean through and about to shoot. I never made the argument being a full-back was all about tackling though, you made the specific (inaccurate) point about it. Neither did I I know you didn't. No probs, apology accepted.
  2. Its simple....stay out the thread you bore
  3. Good man. Heres the OP again. So basically Im saying that IMO it looks as though this season he's finding it tougher, particularly attacking down the wing compared to how he used to. I also question whether his overall game has improved? I precede these remarks by saying "I know he'd done really well" and that his sprinting, guarding and bringing the ball out of defence, are not in question. Cant really see anything "horrific" in this question / discussion. You might think hi tackling has improved or that his positional play has improved or that his passing has improved. You might disagree and think he is attacking better than he ever has for us. These would all be valid points to discuss. Im quite taken aback by the way this thread has gone I might have to have 4 Kronnenburgs tonight instead of the usual 3.

  5. I don't know why anyone would seek attention by making themselves look stupid, unless it's direct deprication for a bit carry on. It shouldn't be about attention anyway it's to share good views on NUFC, and debate points, and CT could argue that's what he's doing. However a post like the OP is like debating that Adolf Hitler was a good thing for the Jewish world. which bit man All of it the full thing. The thing that makes me laugh is you're basing it one game where he was by no means our worst player, in a game the whole team produced one of THE WORST first half performances I can ever remember they were all dire, Tiote looked lost even in the first half. I'm too busy to discuss this pish at the minute, but the whole post is pathetic. I disagree with Phil too Jose has worked well on the left the reason it's not as potent is because Jonas' form has dipped playing against better right backs, it's not Jose's main function to attack although when he does, he does it well. Fair enough your busy. I'll look forward to your response when your free but Im afraid retorts like "the whole post", dont do it and just make it look like you really have no argument. You cant mean the bit where I say he's done really well? or The bit where I say he can sprint and guard the ball? or Where I say that his attacking game is suffering because of Jonas? I'll even post the OP so you need only bold the "horrific" bits. Dont bottle it now, just bold it.
  6. And your like one of those bullies hangers on who was terrified to have his own fight but when there was 20 onto 1 you would rush in from behind the crowd, get a kick in and run away. Another one tut tutting but failing to point out which bit of the op makes "words fail you"
  7. Whats contrary about having a discussion about whether a player has improved or not. Awaits answer....... The fact you're asking if one of our widely acknowledged best players has improved. That sentence should literally answer that question for good. Not at all. My opinion is that his attacking side has gone back, its very simple. Yet you can't recall this attacking side specifically. Except in the Championship where he was so above and beyond the rest of the division, he could afford to go forward a bit more. It's only natural that he wouldn't be so gung-ho in the PL because the chances of getting caught out and punished are much higher. Honestly cant believe Im reading this tbh In his 60 odd prem games before relegation I would have though that most people would recall his wing play with Jonas and how they overlapped each other down the left. Truly astonished.
  8. ???? He was a fully fledged Premiership player with 50 or 60 appearances under his belt before we were in the championship so of course the jump back to the premiership was easy! And again, I wasnt comparing him to other left backs are saying he wasnt good. I was commenting on his development and overall abilities. A few, like yourself, back up what I was saying about him attacking less, (not that Alex thinks he really attacks anyway????). Too many bleating sheep with nothing to say in this thread. (not you btw).

  10. Good Post. See sheep, its not that hard to discuss now is it.
  11. I knew you wouldnt answer the one simple question and would use the "I wont post again card". It was very straight forward. Surely in this "HORRIFIC" post, you can bold the bit that is truly horrific. Is the bit where I say he's done really well this season? Is it the bit where I say he can sprint and guard the ball? Seriously, it will help me see the error of my ways if you could point out the horrific bit.

  15. You've posted some shite on here, but that's just horrific. Looks bad on you mate, I don't know why you do it? Specifically which bit is horrific?

  17. Good Give me a few examples of performances in the past where he got forward then, CT. I've always thought he masked his batteries a bit in that regard and is a little bit like Albert Ferrer who played for Chelsea. If anything, he's gotten forward more this season than I've seen him do so but it's not and never been an instinct of his imo. He's a defender first and not the type of full-back Beresford was. At one time, particularly when Barton was out injured or playing in the middle, virtually every attack would go down the left and it would be the overlapping link up play between Enrique and Jonas. Now its a lot more balanced with possibly more coming down the right. I cant give you definitive games etc but Enrique now tends to limit his runs down the flank. I knew that you wouldn't be able to back it up, CT. That was why I asked for specific examples. I think its a silly point really as most people would have said Enrique used to get forward quite a lot. Not that I agree with that but most people in this thread are laughing at you if you want to use the 'go with the majority' argument. Since when did that ever bother me. I think discussing the form of a player and whether parts of his game have improved or waned is fine.
  18. Of fuck, Fish is off nights. Theres the forum fucked.
  19. You may well be right, but I think Simpson is coming on leaps and bounds and his second half tackling display in and around the box against the quick footed Arsenal players was magnificent. I put Simpsons improvement down to having Barton ahead of him rather than Routledge. So (have I got this right?) you're saying Simpson had loads of defending to do on Saturday and had to make loads of important tackles in the box in the 2nd half and at the same time you're crediting the player in front of him, i.e. Barton, with giving him more help defensively? How does that work? Not sure if you've watched the second half back, but most of the tackles I refer too, as did the commentators, was him getting across into the penalty area to mop up where the other defenders, including Enrique, had fucked up.

  21. In what way do you think his game is improving? I know he does the ball guard better than anyone, but when does he ever get telling tackles in? Look at the Arsenal second half, Simpson was all over the box making last minute sliding tackles. Re your second paragraph, that was part of my main point. Once bitten and all that. If a Barton type player was ahead of him who didnt lose possession then I think Enrique would be magnificent not only with bye line crosses, but also with a few goals. He doesn't have to make last ditch tackles because he reads the game that well and is strong and quick enough to get the ball with no fuss. How do you think that's a bad thing? The thread was about the other parts of his game and whether they have improved or declined. He has always being able to guard the ball and nobody has said that is a bad thing.
  22. I just think Enrique "thinks twice" now, simply due to the fact that Jonas does lose the ball quite a lot.
