I actually missed it last night. That blame lies firmly at the feet of NUFC, Carroll and LFC. Bastards. Hope the big guy, CT's mate's still there. Aye, he's still there. The ginga one went. Champion, don't think my life could've dealt with losing Carroll and the big guy in one night. Whaaaat, 4 udders left the building? Disgraceful. She was a powerhouse, a workhorse and surely better than Kenan and Kel the twins. (I appreciate you might'nt know who K & K are) She lost the most weight last night. There was hell on because quite a few of them lost nowt. Doing the exercises but lots of scoffing.

Im sure he'll continue with Ameobi and Best

Andy Carroll aftermath(press conf/interviews etc)
Christmas Tree replied to Barney's topic in Newcastle Forum
Exactly. It's a deal everyone was happy with. Ashley's still a cunt (I had said I'd give him kudos if Carroll was still here in Feb, unfortunately he waved that opportunity), and now carroll's a cunt too. you can't renegotiate your contract every 3 fucking months! He wouldn't be so willing to renegotiate downwards when he goes through an inevitable baron run would he. That's why you have 5 year contracts...unless you're Don fucking Draper. Good form today. -

It also needs sadly putting on record that the vice chair declared herself "perfectly happy" to lose these 1000+ members who had "joined a supporters club" and replace them with 75 people who wanted to be part of a supporters trust. I was flabergasted by that to be honest and can't understand the logic or reasoning that goes into it. The idea that you just let 1000+ of your paying membership drift off into the night without even trying to swing them around to the benefits of a Trust is staggering. Sitting someone like Colin Whittle in front of them for five minutes and letting him talk passionately about ST's would probably have convinced more than half to give it another year but it seems like those making decisions decided against the worth of this. I was very disappointed to hear this. As for what made 75 people sign up in the last month. I'd guess these figures are largely reactionary and have gone through following the acrimonious departure of Chris Hughton. Whenever there's turmoil at the club the Trust gets a little spike in membership as people seek to invest in the only thing that seems to offer an alternative to what's currently in place. They could be boosting their membership right now by putting out a properly worded statement about the sale of Andy Carroll...unfortunately they've failed to do that as well. The revelations of how this debt was occurred was staggering. One man (thankfully no longer associated with the Trust) acting alone and given free reign to negotiate with NJC media almost bankrupting the organisation as a result. That this was allowed to happen is, in my view, inexcusable (although its important to point out that this apprently all occurred before the current board were elected). I was also disappointed with the vagueries offered by the former chair of exactly what it was that we got for our money. I wasn't able to get any coherent answer out of anyone in attendence other than that it was some "advertising" for the YWC campaign and there was way too much shrugging of shoulders when I asked for specifics. Instead I was told that the campaign attracted "1000 new members"....a good job as we were apparently letting another 1000 walk out of the door. It seems obvious now why NJC media has all but stopped mentioning the Trust as the two must have a very uncomfortable relationship. Was I the only one who was under the impression that NJC had agreed to offer the Trust free advertising in the light of the 'Al-Together now' campaign the two outfits ran at the close of our relegation season? Astounding to be honest. Time for good people like yourselves and PP resign from this shower and find someone who can set up a supporters club. They would happily get my dosh. The people that might have joined have already had their fingers burnt. You don't get multiple chances to set something like this up unfortunately. Probably very true but yet again, one of the biggest clubs in the country and dont have a supporters club.

struggling to stay with this series. Nobody in it has a personality. All very dreary.

This. And can someone not merge these threads.... -
I think we'll be alright this season. However a big part of the reason we've done well without Tiote and Carroll is that we were already playing quite well, have a lot of points on the board already and are benefitting from the confidence that comes with that. Carroll is a big part of that and the reason I'm worried about next season (and the foreseeable future) already. I woke up this morning and had a few moments where I thought I'd imagined the whole thing. Im trying to be logical and positive about it and thinking it happens at every club whether it is spurs losing Berbatov, Man u losing Ronaldo and Teves or Liverpool losing Torres. Still hurts when its your club though. The unknown is whether we are just part of the big merry go round like the clubs ive already mentioned or whether this marks a return to 1980's style sell offs.

Well they supposedly rejected the £35m bid the first time it came in. Until...WHAT?! He's handed a transfer request in?! Oh I don't believe this, we'll have to sell him now, Mike. Shall we reluctantly accept it? While my opinion is that they shouldnt have sold no matter what, there are a lot of fans on here, interviewed on TV and elsewhere who were shouting snap their hands off at that kind of money.
