Pissed off about yesterday but still looking forward to this. The fact that AC hasnt been in the team of late and they have still played well gives me hope that we can still win games. Really depends how the team feel about yesterday.

The only thing that would save the club from their share of the blame in this, would be for them to reveal that Carroll had a clause in his contract allowing to talk to clubs if a bid of a certain amount came in. A common clause I believe. (Not that I think it will be the case here). Greed rules.

Spot on. Board should have showed more ambition. Carroll should have said no IF he meant everything he spewed to the press. Regardless of the blame game, a sad day. I even fucking missed The Biggest Loser 'cos of that carry on last night. I'm holding you firmly to account on this one mate, you said he wouldn't go, you promised me maaaan. Did you find the recipe for that pie? It was shite.

There's not a chance in hell those texts are real. Correct use of apostrophes for one thing. iPhone puts them in for you *burns application to Sleuth School*

The mirror are running the Steve Wraith text I was forced out story but for all the reasons already stated. Bollocks. Owners lie, Chairmen lie and footballers lie. There are very few left in the game who are genuine. I hope Barton is one and re-signs, but after today.... -
Would have thought Ireland will replace Guthrie??? If he's fit!

It's maddening. Nothing to soften the blow even slightly. Can we stay up without him is what MA would have asked Pardew.... yup -

Because he agreed to the transfer? Some people are saying the club have forced the sale through, others are saying that other club's willingness to meet an extortionate price and Carroll's willingness to leave pushed the sale through. Two different stories imo. Impossible without Carrolls agreement. Not what Carroll text Steve Wraith. It is impossible! You simply cant do it. We agreed a fee with Birmingham for Larrson but he said no Thanks. Its that simple, especially when you add all the other stuff like being local, loved by players and fans etc etc et fucking cetra. -

Because he agreed to the transfer? Irrelevent....theres no way he was going to say no.....the world and his wife can see we're going nowhere under Ashley and hes only got one career. Don't blame him, he's a player.Regardless of where hes from, they never have the level of loyalty that the fans have and he's not been all over the press saying how much he loves the club etc....certainly not as much as Torres has. A bid of 35 million was too good to turn down for Ashley, irrelevent of if we brought anyone in.....another gamble, thats his nature...we've seen it countless fuckin times... -

Wonder if it lasts as long as the last five and a half year deal he signed. -
You could at least say if it explains why he was unable to say No Thanks. As that is the basis of 99% of what I have then it would be a bit counter productive! however this belief people have that players can just say "fuck my career, Im not letting the fans down" needs to be dispelled. One look at Xisco should be enough, theres no way that kid isnt good enough to get into our or many other teams yet hes been made to sit and rot on the sidelines. Aye but Carroll is a much bigger name than Xisco. Not to mention that if they left him to rot then his transfer value would be about 10% of what Liverpool were offering. Leaving popular number 9's out of the team doesnt really go down well at Newcastle.

I have no problem with your average Joe moving on to better himself. But if your AC and you've just signed a five year deal and just come out with all the toon fan, love the club, want to be the next Shearer stuff in the last few weeks, then I expect a bit more commitment. It would have killed it dead had he just said no thanks. The club could have stopped it as well, BUT if AC didnt want to move, he didnt have to.
