As a Doctor you'll be fully aware that those little Tory goodies will now be in your blood stream.....Only a matter of time and you'll be wanking over photos of Maggie like the rest of us.

Dont know if this has been posted. Funny Though. http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-...?urn=sow-270226

a loan player and an average premiership player that Birmingham aren't exactly falling over themselves to keep. Oh dear, fuckin boogaloo. Is this your expectation of the 3rd biggest club in the country ? Yawn

Not sure what our record has been like for deadline day deals over the years but I am already excited for tomorrow. Even though the nay-sayers will be around to temper the optimists, I bet theres still plenty of activity on Toontastic tomorrow afternoon and evening. I'll be keeping my social diary free (apart from weight watchers), getting a few sherrys in and sitting back for what should be a real good old forum night. Regardless what NUFC do, the sheer amount of posters who will be online will make for an enjoyable night. Expecting lots of good topics and a few old arguments kicking off. Would be nice if someone could take charge of the Belta Minge thread to keep the visual side of things interesting and a few more Stokoes are needed. Anyone who hasnt done one yet should download the free Gimp program as reccommended to me by Miami toon? or northersoultoon???. Its very good and easy to get the hang of. Expecting at least Ireland confirmed and possibly Larsson. Cant Wait
-
Before everyone gets too excited about IRELAND, according to physio room he's still out with knee ligament damage and no return date????? Even if he's on the mend, Goslings relapse just shows there is no guarantee of a quick return. Confused by this I must say.

Tory supporter contributing to party coffers shocker! Not only do the unions pay for Labour, they also pick leaders the MP's don't want. I would also divert your attention to reading county council. Until recently Labour controlled and until recently using millions of council tax payers money to feather the nest of three union officials. The sleaze and waste that was going on under Labour is a national scandal. Blair and Browne should face charges.

We'll see. We'd be rejecting offers now anyway, whether we intend on keeping him or not. The time to get smug about rejected offers is 1st Feb, cos then we'll know that we weren't just holding out for a bigger offer on the last day of the window. Is that the same time the humble pie gets eaten......I doubt it. Humble pie about what? Nobody wants him sold, but people are rightly concerned. Why do you have to try and lord it over people and insist they eat humble pie? When I say that the time to be smug is on Feb 1, that's not strictly true. What I should say is that while the rest of us choose to be relieved that we kept our best player, knowing what you're like, you won't be able to stop crowing about how you predicted it all and acting the smug prick. And a better time for THAT would be Feb 1st. Although tbh there's never a good time for that sort of shit. So Im smug for being pleased we've YET AGAIN, turned down an offer, but others in this thread who claim the deals being done all along shouldnt eat humble pie on 1st Feb.. What utter fucking TOSH. ASM is right, come 1st Feb, the usual nay sayers will be spouting about how the clubs just waiting til the summer to get more money.....and so it goes on. TIT CT, you're a fuckin pleb man, not so much as Skidders like, but you are talking about selling Carroll in January/August etc, you are talking about WHEN Carroll will be sold. Mate, nothing is as sure as this club will, eventually, lose Carroll and Enrique to one of the top clubs attempting to win the trophies and play in europe, and they will be happy to leave when the penny drops when they realise they have to make this move for their career ambitions. Do you want to know what will help convince them to stay, and build on this "platform he has started" ? Its quite simple man, all Mike Ashley has to do is buy a couple of quality players like Carroll and Enrique to show them that THIS club is trying to go places, this will also correctly bring about a u-turn in attitudes among supporters of the club towards him and his ambitions for the club. It's THAT simple man. Tiote? Ben Arfa? exactly and not too expensive either. so do you think it is possible to put together a team to consistently play in europe and/or the Champions League rummaging around the basement transfer market ? I think if I keep progressing nicely with my keep fit I will eventually fit into size 32 jeans, however I'm not going to rush out and buy them just yet. Rome, day and all that. -
Ripe for a Stokoeshop? Is nothing sacred ffs???!!! Whose that with Leazes?

It's THAT simple man. Tiote? Ben Arfa? good players, but you will not put together a good team and stimulate ambition among supporters, players and the football world by operating exclusively in the bargain transfer market. I know that its an idealistic dream to think you can do it, but you can't. Too many of them aren't good enough ie Perch, Best, Routledge, Ryan Taylor, Lovenkrands, Sol Campbell now. It even speaks volumes Shola Ameobi is important for you, Ameobi ? For years he's been a bench player and that was all, we all know he's an inconsistent underperforming clown who has never used his physical strength correctly. He's now a first team player ? Ameobi, and no sign of replacing him with better ? Fuck off man. If this team is going to go further forward, like you are claiming, then now is the time to show that they want to do it by making a signing or two to show it to everybody. Like it or not, these sort of signings matter, they are important, they are statements of intent and raise the profile of the club to everybody. It's all about getting the balance right, too many big signings and you get egos, too many bargains and you aren't good enough. We are the 3rd biggest club in the country, punch our weight and act like it. Leazes theres so much crap in that post I hardly no where to start. If they can unearth players like Tiote and Ben Arfa in the "bargain market".....Marvellous. The players you list wouldnt even get in our best first team and will no doubt be upgraded as we go along. Where did I say Ameobi was important to me??????? I can only assume this is why you have your reputation of making things up. "We are the 3rd biggest club". We are also the 3rd biggest spenders so far in January I think most people know that summer is the best time to get good players in. January is panic time and Im pleased we seem to be resisting some of the shit we keep getting linked with. -

The time to get smug about rejected offers is 1st Feb, cos then we'll know that we weren't just holding out for a bigger offer on the last day of the window. So the Fat Man can't win at all just yet then, basically. Even if he rejects he's just holding out for more money. No, if he accepts one on the last day, he was holding out for more money. Get it? I think you've overdosed on the arsehole pills btw. Your patter in this thread has been fucking lifting. Oh sorry, let's all turn into you and try and make every post a joke. Of course I 'get it' and I wasn't even having a dig at your post specifically before you went into alphamale defence tell-a-joke mode and tried to 'batter' me, I just don't see the point in people crying like fuck on here about being a selling club when we haven't accepted anything yet, and are unlikely to. We're having a good season, on a decent unbeaten run and within touching distance of our preseason hopes/expectations. What's the fucking point in reams and reams of posts slagging the club and it's ambitions off. We came into the season to stay up, we will. It's like whatever the club do there'll always something to slag off and whine about, all because Mike Ashley made the mistake of appointing a director of football a few years ago, the nasty bastard. I wasn't joking. Your patter's shit and you come across as an arsehole. If you want to discuss things sensibly then don't make every post an attempt to get under people's skin. Ok then, abuse aside (you're the top dog, I'm not attempting to overthrow your reign, don't alpha me) What part of my first reply to you was intended to get under your skin like? It was a genuine point for discussion, he can't really win can he. Irrespective of what he does, he's getting abuse for the entire transfer window, which is a little bit unfair imo. The fact that that post did get under your skin probably means that you know I have a point and you're being an arsehole tbh. You claim you weren't having a go at my post, but you've already admitted you intentionally "misunderstood" my post so that you could make a point about other people in the thread. Or something. I'm not even sure what you were trying to do. As to whether Ashley can't win or not. To be honest, the shit he's done since he came here, if he is in a "no win" situation with some fans, then it's a) entirely understandable and b ) entirely of his own making. If we don't sell Carroll in the summer, will I still be concerned that we'll sell him in the summer? Yes, but I'm not gonna harp on about it. The point is though, I give Ashley no credit if we don't sell Carroll, cos we shouldn't be selling our best player. He'll just be doing his job. His job is to run the club however the fuck he wants, he owns it and has spent his own money on it. If he wants to recoup some of that, he's perfectly entitled to. If he does decide to keep him, then it is surely a positive that he's seeing the bigger picture. Surely he would then deserve some credit? I might have overdosed on the arsehole pills, but you my friend have blended them down into a liquid and injected them straight into the veins. See Gemmil, thats how you do it -

Good post in some respects but the bit in bold, if FMA was looking at it from a business perspective and he's the country's number 9 for years, surely it would be better to wait 3 or 4 years to cash in. £25m isn't that much in modern football, when you look at Kaka who's been finished 3 years went for £57m. That's what I mean though mate, it'll test the resolve of Ashley and I think he's the type who knows how to work a deal and take risks but when that money's dangled in front of his dish he mightn't want to risk it never coming again. Surely it would be better to wait I agree, everyone would agree, but I just don't trust him and don't believe what people are saying about he wouldn't do it because of the potential 'backlash from the fans' cos we aal naa he couldn't give a monkeys what we think. This rumour'll run forever tbh, cos he's so good and we can't trust the owner given his previous. Great for us fans, eh! I'll say it again though, this media blackout's fucking ridiculous for the transparancy of what their plans are etc. Whilst we just sit and pray. Thing is though Mac, most posters on here have been shouting for the last 2 years for them to shut the fuck up as they kept dropping major clangers. They did. Whether you believe them or not, I think they have previously stated the plans and havent really veered off them. This year is about survival which will dramatically improve the clubs finances We are going to steadily build the team by buying / developing young talent that can grow with the club. Trophy signings on silly money are a thing of the past. Our best players wont be sold. Andy Carroll wont be sold. Im not sure what else you would like to hear. What the long term target is? Is it getting back into the top four and challenging for honours, or is it paying back FMA’s loans and the selling up. Think most would be happy with either. In the last 50 years we have had a brief spell of flirtation with the top four. Most of those 50 years we have been outside it. I am realistic to know that going from 6th 7th or 8th to the top four is a massive ask. Im just happy to be progressing in the right direction after all we have been through over the last few years. Long term targets are bollocks anyway as they can be influenced by so many other things. Do you really think we can compete realistically on a financial point of view with Man City? Of course we cant. Will more arabs enter the prem? Probably. The 90's were a very special time and we made the most of them. Unfortunately Shepherd didnt have the nouse to build on them and secure our position in the top 4. Forget targets, enjoy our resurgence and lets just see where we end up. -

Be devastated if true and dont know how Pardew or the board could justify, unless some sort of mad offer came in over the 35 mill mark. The only niggle for me is whether their arses are going that this thigh thing might turn into something worse and they want to cash in. At the end of the day though, Carroll can still they no, regardless of what anyone else wants. Hopefully just more Tottenham paper talk. As for others saying Tottenham wouldnt do this unless it was agreed.....They've been blabbering on about Carroll all window. -

Christmas Tree replied to a topic in General Chat
Derby weekend certainly fucked me up and on Monday I was back up to 14-6, however after three days of eating well Im now at 14-3. Have also started glancing favourably in the direction of the treadmill so it should only be a matter of days before I venture back on and reallly get the weight off. Expecting to be under 14 stone by next week. End of next week. Scales have been variable all week, but said 14-2 this morning so Im taking that. Also just completed half an hour of fast walking 3.5 mph while watching top gear. Nearly got a sweat on. 13 Stonesville, here we come.
