Not being funny, but have you ever given serious thought to the Taxis as it’s an ideal job if you need time flexibility. No set shifts, start when you want finish when you want whether that’s 10 hours a week or 50 hours a week. No need to work with the drunks. Its suited me so well over the years. Worked evenings when I was daddy daycare, weekends when I wanted extra cash and now just early mornings because I’m old and lazy. Loads of mates who’ve moved into taxii’ing such as sparkies, builders, factory workers etc. All wouldn’t dream of going back to the daily grind.

As jobs go, pretty much love my job (at my age). Start at 4am finish at 9am so have lots of free time. Hours are great for avoiding all the negative side of taxi’ing. Recently started to doing a contract for the North east ambulance service which is taking people for dialysis and other appointments at the Freeman , RVI etc. All nice people and good craic. I think it’s just natural as you get older to want to do what you want to do, not have to do, and working is way down the list. Time is priceless and we all waste so much of it.

My plan is to “retire” next year. The aim is to have a nice 100k crypto pot that I will use to put a couple of trades on each week, hopefully from the back of a nice camper van as the sun beats down. Nah. we've had a perfect storm of bad luck this season and everyone knows where we are headed. Might not get the very cream just yet but we will have no problem getting good upgrades the likes of Miggy, Wilson etc. and younger under 21's who are genuinely not too far off a call up if needed.

Must admit Im so chilled about whats going on right now. For me, the seasons over with and they are simply being very shwred and looking at the longer term plan. (And at least we know these people do plan). Our financial circumstances dictate that to achieve our ambitions we have to squeeze money from every source so thanks for your service but bye to the majority of them. Fill the under 21's up with the next wave and lets get some younger first team talent in for next season along with a couple of jewels who can hurt the opposition.
