I haven’t read any of the post match thread so don’t know the feelings on this result. It was just typical of our luck over the years and as soon as they scored (I knew what would happen with penalties), I stormed upstairs to make some mugs. I was absolutely raging, made worse by the fact there was really no one to rage at. Tripps has been excellent for us, the club are on a lovely trajectory and Eddie is pretty much hamstrung (no pun intended) on what team he can put out. It was so frustrating being so angry but really unable to direct it anywhere. Ah well, one day it will be so different.

Yup, I’ve broken up today as well. A manic 6 weeks of mug frenzy over til next year. Chilled out by getting all the Christmas shopping and food shopping done. Nowt to do now but watch romcoms and look forward to Boxing Day, Wunderbar and the match.

A few years ago me and the missus were up in Grey street (I think Browns bar) and there was a pianist playing and it was very chill. We are up again on Saturday and I’m after somewhere a bit nice to have a few drinks.

Not a restaurant and not in Newcastle but a lovely place opened on Seaburn sea front by the people who run the very popular Blacks corner in East Boldon. Probably a bit too posh for me but a place to sit, eat or drink coffee and watch the world go by. It’s actually a converted bus shelter where it just so happens I met my wife 39 years ago today!

Not too confident about today. It’s all just proving a bit too much with the number of games / injuries. I’m still hopeful we can make a late (Liverpool last season) type rally from January, but my enthusiastic hopes for since this season are now tempered. Nobody’s fault, just the consequences of over achieving last season and bad luck this season. It’s proved we are only a small jump away from being a serious Champions league team. Just need a bit more quality in the first 11 and improved back up quality in the squad. Happy days ahead.

Agree, we need to start playing the system and get some next level quality in. CF Miggy upgrade and a proper top drawer keeper (but that can wait for now)
