  1. That's great but let's be honest it's also about shaming Ashley and what he is doing not only to our club but to football as much as possible. Although it could have been worded better you have to admit the biggest impact last weekend was the cockney mafia out banner. Agreed, and Keiths one of those involved.
  2. Yes theres around 20 of us at the moment, there will be press release next week on any action but basically its starting with support the team fully but pay over not a penny more than your ticket.
  3. The 1st meeting of the temporary committee took place tonight and it went well, a statement will be released tomorrow about the plans for the group and its aims both short term and longer. The website will also go live tomorrow to start collecting details of those interested in joining up.
  4. Theres also a 2 week ban for telling someone about the one week ban But I can tell someone about the 2 week ban without any backlash, aye? Its a month for even contemplating the 2 week ban.
  5. The words not banned we just think that every post having the word in half a dozen times makes it a bit OTT and you have to admit you use it a hell of a lot As for the other stuff, yes your post comes to mind but you're not the only one and to be honest a lot of us (myself included) have been guilty of it in the past. Just remember the shite that happened after the Boro game last season and imagine if a Journalist had it directed at him how much more crap he'd give out. We just want to try and give them less stuff to pick up on.
  6. Theres also a 2 week ban for telling someone about the one week ban
  7. Ahem! I've sold the cortina and spent the kids microchips money on this. What happened?
  8. This is something I'm looking at now, I think a lot of work filters stop TT which goes a way to explaining why it can be quiet here at times. We may see a new board appearing under a different domain (but still being the same database) which incorporates hefty word filters to make it more work friendly. so while at work you may post under otherforum.com and toontastic from home but all posts will appear to all.
  9. no, this is not a result of anything specific happening or any complaint. It's merely the fact that all admins & mods agreed we need to keep things a bit friendlier than they are at times.
  10. All, Lately, as you may have noticed things have been a little "fraught" to say the least however there is no excuse for us as fans and forum members to drop our standards and post racist or sexual abuse. We've always felt that we dont need to monitor people on here and we know that we are a bit more 'raw' than the likes of our friends at N-O however at the moment we also know that all of these boards are monitored by the press to pull soundbites. With that in mind it is a good idea to tone down our posts so we dont fuel any more of the "thick abusive geordie" stereotypes that they like to portray. We dont expect only nice posts and if somethings shite say its shite, if you think they're a twat say they're a twat but it would be preferable if we didnt make assumptions on people because of their name, race etc and start entire conversations on whether a certain journalist is carrying more than a notebook in their backpack! You know the sort of stuff we're talking about and you yourself know if you are prone to that kind of comment. This isnt a temporary thing, all Mods and Admin here agree that this kind of posting has no place on this board, not now while we're in turmoil or in 5 years time when we're flying high Things have gone past us lately due to the higher demand, numbers of posts and the fact that we all enjoy posting as well as moderating but now we will be getting tough on these kind of posts, there will be no warnings on these things. If you post that kind of stuff then we will put you on Posting Moderation for a period of time (that means that you cannot post anything without one of us agreeing the post first) this will mean your post could take hours to appear and may look mothing like what you meant to say. These will be anything from an hour or two to give you time to go away, calm down a bit and rethink your posts through to a number of weeks for persistent offenders. Persist too much though and we will simply ban you. Other sites get called for their attitude to these things but maybe they have the right idea, personally I dont think so but the answer lies somewhere between the two, allow users to be the adults they are and use naughty words at times while ensuring none of us come out looking like tossers. We've let things get to this stage and thats our (Admin teams) fault therefore nobody is being banned or moderated for anything that has already been posted, a number of posts have been edited this morning to remove things and if others exist they too will be amended as soon as we spot them but as of now these rules are in place. Anything posted after the time of this will be subjected to the above. Oh and if you bunch of c*nts could refrain from using the word c**t then we'd seriously appreciate that too (Stevie Im looking straight at you here!!!!) Thanks
  11. I odnt think he has any intention of selling. Hes doing the same as he did last Friday, making it appear that hes trying to sort things out when he isnt. Hes slapped a ridiculous price tag on knowing that people wont be so stupid as to pay that at the same time as he issued a heartfelt plea to stop making his life hell and how he only ever wanted whats best for the club and not a profit. Hes a twat of the highest order, simple as.
  12. Hmmm back in time for the winter, his favourite time of year too
  13. Tell you what, I'll stick a suit on, head down the ground and tell them to shove their job right up Ashleys hoop.
  14. Least of all the fact that the group will, at times oppose the board etc. Just to ensure this stays on topic, what they are not proposing is a Barcelona or even Ebfleet situation. It is merely a chance to pull all supporters together in a common direction and ensure that the views of the majority are taken into account when things are done. Its no good the Mag shouting in opposition of something if it turns out 90% of the fans dont agree it. Its a chance to get a serious collective, places like this are good for gauging opinion but frankly its still just the opinions of a few and like it or not, its not a valid sample of NUFC fans. Do a poll on here and the equivalent on N-O and Skunkers and its fairly sure that you'll get different values in the results. Thats down to the make up of the readership, Skunkers attracts a certain kind of member, all joking aside but N-O appears to have a generally younger membership and this place is made up of intellectuals and a more forward thinking mature audience whereas howaythetoon has Wacky and Leazes <--- major safety wink I also disagree with the idea that season ticket holders are treat any differently to anyone else, subscriptions should be the same regardless. As someone (possibly Alex) said, its already putting divisions in place.
  15. I dont think it is impossible and if I do have any involvement in the setting up of this then I would be looking for that kind of thing to be the norm.
  16. 1. It was made clear that nobody would be paid for anything they did, all things would be acountable but it would be a fighting fund as such, allowing for promotion material to be made, Printing costs that sort of thing. I dont think anyone will know properly until it has been discussed and formulated into a proper plan. One thing I would expect is that all this would be made clear if/when the thing goes live ie you wouldnt be expected to pay up without being told about accountability. 2. Im not sure that you will ever get everyones voices heard but what you can do is canvass the majority ie via the likes of here. I would expect the association to have a website with a facilty for members only to vote etc. 3. I would hope it would, basically it would be made clear to the press that the views of nufc fans are only official if they come from the SA. Anything else can be taken as the personal view of the speaker. We would have to recognise that sometimes these views would be given by the SA when they havent been able to canvass the opinion but thats unavoidable. At least you'll know that the release has some credibility.
  17. It went down well. They all spoke a lot of sense and seemed to capture the general mood and their comments got big rounds of applause. Aye, they seem to have most bases covered. Would be good if they could add a representative of the online sites too. Just to point out again though, the board/panel whatever we call it has not yet been decided or elected. The method of election hasnt even been decided. It was merely to put forward the idea and get some names in the frame for taking this onwards. The email I received from Mark Jensen yesterday made it clear that both him and Mick of True Faith didnt see themselves as being automatic choices for the roles. They were just the catalysts to get it moving.
  18. The impression I got was, must be a toon fan and capable of making decisions, giving reasoned argument and listening to the views of the fans. Anyone could be on it as long as they can demonstrate they will make a difference by being there.
  19. Why Born here? What possible difference could that make? It shouldnt, one thing I think is recognised by all is that you dont have to be born or live here to love the toon. You dont have to be a season ticket holder or even go to the odd match to be devastated by the goings on or have your weekend ruined by a bad result. You would however, have to be local to attend all the meetings
  20. To an extent though I think thats part of the "problem" nothing against the likes of the march but what we need is a collective series of actions in times like this. If theres an SA then all websites, forums etc should agree to promote what the SA recommends and not plan any alternative actions. As good as they seem, they are nothing unless done as a whole. I know there was someone there from nufc-forum.com but not sure about the likes of N-O etc.
  21. Surely you remember the stuff from your days wandering the streets fleecing old ladies out of their cash in return for the promise of no heating bills ever due to the super quadruple glazing you had on special offer....hey missus you've got the pen now fucking sign bitch and we'll have you over a barrel. Its the law you agreed its a contract gis ya cash!!!
  22. Better than who? the people who would be putting forward the views etc haven't even been "elected" yet. If you mean better than the likes of me then I totally agree, theres no way that I would even be putting myself forward for anything that involved facing the world and talking about the toon. Hey I'd be happy to contribute to an S.A. financially, but it'd be donations and not my voice. I meant there are people who have more knowledge about 1)the wants and desires of the average fan, 2) the way to bring those things to fruition and 3) football in general. I dont agree (but cheers for the cash ), there are better people to talk to the press yes (especially if its TV what with your dress sense) but your view is no less important than anyone elses...........except mine of course........ oh and Stevies.
  23. Thats fine though, maybe I didnt make myself clear in the first post and that might explain Fish's answer. What they are talking about is having 50, 60, 100, 250k NUFC supporters worldwide who pay a small annual fee (£5 was mentioned as the sort of figure) to be recognised as a supporter, giving them some rights to put their points forward, take part in meetings if they want but more importantly their subs would pay towards running the thing (nobody however would be paid anything to take an active role) and allow a voice to be heard. The association would be recognised by the media and ensure that the only statements that hold any credence are theirs. No radgees from Walker or wannabe gangsters who proclaim themselves the "voice of the fans". Edit: Oh and more importantly you'd get a membership card
  24. I suppose we could put our points and questions to people who were going. I'd have no prob with that. someone suggested having local branches, which would/could accomodate the views of exiled fans. Finally, someone else that was there. You arent a student of Performing Arts though are you?
  25. I dont know but Ive heard theres this interweb thingy that lets people communicate across vast distances easily seriously though, no decisions have been made or even looked at, its merely the fact that this club does not have anything like this and it shows when the shit hits the fan, like it has recently.
