Better than who? the people who would be putting forward the views etc haven't even been "elected" yet. If you mean better than the likes of me then I totally agree, theres no way that I would even be putting myself forward for anything that involved facing the world and talking about the toon.

If you answered no to the poll, any chance you can say why? not having a go but it would be a good idea to see the reasons people have against the idea.

Not long been back from the first meeting which I think went very well. Thanks to Mark and Martin from the Mag and True Faith for setting it up and to all involved. Basically the overall view is that once and for all we need an association that will be recognised as speaking for the fans, one which will co-ordinate and develop any strategies for protest in bad times and the nicer things in life at other times (is that ever going to be the case though?) The view of the meeting though was an official group that people (regardless of location, season ticket holder, how many away games they'd been to etc etc) would pay a small annual membership to be part of and this would form the basis of any funding required. No doubt something official will be out in the very near future but I do know they are going to be looking for people with relevant skills, experience etc to take part so I think firstly it would be an idea to see what skills etc people could offer. Is there an accountant in the house? Solicitor? does anyone run an offie where we can get cheap beer etc etc Also, as an early indication, could you answer what your views are on paid membership? How much do you think is a sensible figure to be part of the association?

or do as I did after the Man U game and bet on the toon at 350/1 with a view to us having a good start, the odds dropping and then laying off the bet at much lower odds. Sometimes things just never go to plan

I can't believe you replied, thereby perpetuating it's "top of the page" status you're just as bad, it went back up again

without the P45 the employer doesn't know what freepay to deduct so plays safe by using none. If they don't receive one then theyll contact HMRC to get the code. At some stage you'll be quids in when it gets refunded

The fact you only work Mon - Fri is irrelevent as thats what generally 90% of the population work, its the period that you get paid that matters. The calculation of tax is simple. You need your Tax Code (as Leazes said, if you dont have one then you're on emergency) which basically means all your pay is taxable. If you have a tax code then theres usually numbers on there (eg 453L) the letter also means something but generally in the main its L. Take the number (453) multiply it by 10 and add 9 and you have your annual freepay, this is the amount you are entitled to earn in a year without paying tax. Divide that number by the number of pay periods (52 if weekly paid and 12 monthly) then take that off your pay and calculate 20% of the remainder. It only changes if you go over the threshold for the upper limit (weekly is £669) in those cases you pay 40% on the amount over that. So if you earn £200 per week and have a tax code of 100L then you are entitled to earn £1009 p/a without paying tax which works out at £19.41 per week. £200 - £19.41 = £180.59 (rounded down to £180) and multiplied by 20% = £36 tax per week. Its slightly more complicated than that because its worked out cummulatively so can change slightly from week to week but thats it. So in your case if you earn £200 per week then because you're paying tax on all of it then you'll pay £40 tax in the week. Dont forget you will also pay NI on anything over £105 per week as well, which is going to be either 9.4 or 11% of the amount (until you hit the Upper Earning Limit).

Failed Labour candidate as well.

Not a clue son, not a clue. that I take serious umbrage at, we may have had less than 20k but they will have all been in the Gallowgate or Leazes. edit: how fucking gay is this twat?

He said the last bit. So he did. I heard he was KK's choice like. Hughton that is. The whole thing sounds like a taxi driver said it tbh, i.e. total fucking bollocks. Hey dont shoot the messenger my friend, tbh though it came from a fairly clear headed source, he was in the Diamond, Ponteland talking to Shearer, Harper and at least one other and they were all laughing about it. Could be that it was bollocks from messers Shearer like .

I heard an interesting story today which came from a couple of players on Saturday. Seemingly at some stage in the 2nd half Hughton decided they needed something more upfront, he looked at the bench and realised that the best makeshift striker they had was actually Harper. Seemingly he contemplated it for a bit before deciding it wouldnt really be a very good PR exercise! Allegedly as well none of the players like him and he was only put in to keep an eye on KK.

Im also not going to give them the hit but I would be very dubious buying a t-shirt from Sports Direct never mind a tainted football club.
-
Im up for it if it happens. Not quite sure about how capable it is of working though. To be honest I think no matter what, a club needs to employ a successful business person as its chairman and not necessarily someone who can tell you the score, scorers, times and name the crowd of toon v Millwall 1982/83 season. Saying that, being a Newcastle fan is important though as we're seeing now

Is there a big possibility on us getting relegated
peasepud replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
Veryreal prospect IMO -
tbh though reading between the lines I think what he actually means is that he would allow £20mil from the clubs money each year to be spent on players. The thought he was going to add a further 20 each year on top would make me happy, I dont think he was though.
-
Im not exactly worried here, remember all the world class managers beating down his door for the job? which he then overlooked for Glenn Roeder?

Fuck me looks like the press have turned on poor Mikey

Anyone ever seen her? My moneys on a specky ginger fat bint, a bit like Ugly Betty but without the looks.

Bet he wishes he had a billion quid in cash. Also you'd get a hell of a lot more than a 4% return on a billion quid. He's not without fault in this whole situation, but I think he's being painted as more of a villian than he actually is. No matter what, his investments will bring him in well in excess of the £20million that he says he was willing to spend each year.
-
What interest rate do you get for having a billion quid? If its 4%, and I reckon its more than that for the kind of wonga involved then thats £40million he makes in interest, so what hes saying is Im going to give you half my yearly interest, now love me.
