  1. Before you lock this thread, getting back to the sandwiches. Rather than all these pretentious, finicky versions, shirley you can't beat the good old Crispy bacon with a dollop of HP brown sauce one? And for the sweet toothed, you're all forgetting the classic, thick clotted cream with a jam of your choice in thick white doorsteps.
  2. I said I liked his sandwich not his meat By the way what does IDST stand for? and whilst you're at it, please can someone give me an index for all your abbreviations please I read a thread the other day and it was full of FYF and the like, I couldnt make head nor tail of it tbf, tbh, imho I know!!!! If Destroyed Still True. It's a school pencil case rather than internet message board-type abbreviation though. Ahhh! Try and decipher this one alex.... P.R.A.T
  3. I know a sandwich I havent made for awhile. A few lean slices of roast pork, sage and onion stuffing, a touch of caramalised red onion and real apple sauce.

  6. If we're doing a shitty talent search format for this then Simon Cowell is a bit of a stretch, I'd peg you more as a David Guest character, bucko p.s. I'm having an a new twist on an old classic; Roasted chicken breast slices, Monterey Jack cheese, crispy bacon, Chinese leaf lettuce, thick cut tomatoes, and cool ranch spread served on seeded batch. nice and simple Tasty....and another to beat Gemmill's
  7. Anchovies, but thats different. If anything the chicken was accompanying the fish, because the anchovies are integral to a ceasar salad. I realise that subtle distinction makes no difference to the actual taste matrix. Yes anchovies! Thanks! I was told by the waiter that it was the correct way to serve Chicken ceasar, though I didnt like it much.
  8. Talking about the chicken/fish combination, now I come to think of it, I seem to remember having something fishy on the top of my Chicken ceasar salad in a restauent once
  9. I am refraining from posting any piccys of the gorgeous Mr Homme. Tbh, he's far too sexy for this forum.
  10. : For once it wasnt a ginner its a pic of Anthony Kiedis form the chillis. Iggy Pop you mean? God nooooo man!!!

  12. Damn sexy haircut, but only works if you have gorgeous hair like him to carry it off!
  13. Oh give over, I really can't be arsed to type, I'm tired as I've worked all night....I can spell it really!
  14. Sounds like my nightmare.... Me... on my todd walking around a world of chicken people and not a BBQ in sight. by the way Scott's "closing date" is bollocks. A real man would encourage competition and allow all comers to try and stack their average sandwich against his exemplar. thats very true, he obviously fears the competition!! I rekon he has no real confidence in his creation!
  15. As usual the media have gone over the top with this Lewis mania, but I think LH will keep his feet firmly on the ground, he is obviously well bought up and has strong family support around him. Its so great to have something to cheer about anyway, we're hardly cheering on English football, cricket or tennis lately are we? Lewis is already being compared to Senna, which imo, is ridiculous, but he has the makings of it. Im particulary impressed with his cool thinking under pressure, he's a real racer!
  16. He's a Hom. Josh Homme manc-mag. lead singer of QOTSA...he's my avatar sometimes.
  17. we're having scampi, chips and peas tonight, if I served it up with chicken they'd think I'd gone barmy Tell you another sandwich I like, cold flaked salmon (not tinned) crispy lettuce and black pepper spread generously with seafood sauce in thick fresh white bread. mmmmmm
  18. Nice to see the men of this forum taking pride in their appearance (grooming thread too) Skol, have yours cut like Josh's (not his floppy long style either)!!
  19. OOHHHHH you're SO masterful and manly laying the law down like that
  20. Just a little something for your mantelpiece. The laydeez will love it. well you're wrong there! Im sick to death of trophys all over the place. They look amazingly tacky and serve no other purpose than to attract dust! When we moved house recently I laid down the law and limited hubby to how many would be on show in our new lounge, he picked his most treasured ones and the rest went in a cupboard! They were taking over the place and he won another huge won last weekend. As for missing your sandwich challenge date Gemmill, you're just being nasty cos mine was way better than yours PS, Pud's gets my vote so there
  21. You cant beat a hot granary baguette filled with steak, mushrooms, onions, black pepper and french mustard or horseradish sauce Im also very partial to a thick sliced granary sandwich filled with good old cheddar cheese and beeetroot.
  22.
