Years ago hubby opted out of SERPS being advised at the time that this was the way to go. Now I've been reading that maybe this wasnt such a wise choice and because things have changed so much many people are opting back in. I must admit I'm totally confused as there seems to be no right or wrong answer. Have any of you opted back in recently?

Have to agree with all you say there! Comes back, makes suggestions for our forum and posts links for hers. Fair enough if she'd been part of this forum for awhile but this is the same as last time.

Agreed, what a stunning welcome that was ! IM generally a well mannered and welcoming person, but as I am very fond of this forum and appreciate all that the admin do (suck up time) I took offence to a new member instantly making suggestions for improvements! No one knows as well as me how hard it is to be 'accepted' on here...When I joined toonchat years ago, I had loads of stick and some people were positively obnoxious! At times I admit I over-reacted to what was probably only teasing but its hard to appreciate a different type of humour sometimes. I 'get' it now Like it has been said, its been quiet on here lately because of a number of reasons...mainly being the close season but also like I've always said it is hard to contribute on any forum where there are a few prolific posters who know each other in person, the jokes become boring for others not 'in the know' or just boring because its the same old thing. I've seen several forums go this way, they have their hey day and then slowly decline for no apparent reason. I suppose there are only so many topics to discuss and the members know each other too well! Im not complaining its just what happens. Also like the great Gemmill said, perhaps people just outgrow forums and move on. I've not been on here so much the last few months cos I got bored of forums so I had abit of a break! What we need is for the forum 'lurkers' to join in, why not make the board only possible to read if you sign in? Perhaps that way we'd have some fresh input.....new people to get to know and for you lot to take the piss out of!

Personally I like this forum as it is, I hate loads of subforums, its messy and unecessary imo.
