  1. Yeah, but it was the fact he'd gone in this posh little sweet shop, one of those where the sweets are home-made and sold loose and he chose it for me. Its an old saying but it is the thought that counts! Plus i LOVE turkish delight!

  3. That's how it should be It's the daft little things that mean the most, and not because someone decided that there's be one day when everything is heart-shaped and costs a fortune. However, I'm obviously expecting to have difficulty getting through the front door when I get home from work in the morning due to the amount of post I'm going to have. It'll all be bills Hey, it might not be Cath!!!
  4. Oh FFS I've had sky for 8 years and as we're moving i decided to cancel it and bought freeview, now i wont have Jeff Stelling on a saturday afternoon after all
  5. I think of valentines day for kids and teenagers really, secret admirers an all that. Hubby always buys me a lovely card, but its expected. I much prefer the surprise gift or something special given to me because he thought of me and not because he's supposed to buy me something. . . Like the other week he bought me home a box of turkish delight for a treat cos he knows i like it
  6. Are you serious?? A tune about a newborn baby ill in hospital at christmas? Toonraider mentioned Wires. didn't pay much attention to the lyrics at the time, just remembered it being a nice tune....I can now say it is officially off the list I mentioned Wires because for me its a special song.
  7. Oh god it gets worse, im actually feeling sorry for you flower! You can have half of my cadburys dairy milk! Stick it in the post! I've got a double decker here, but you're getting none! That doesnt surprise me! I love double deckers too. Infact theres not many chocolate bars i dont like
  8. I knew I'd spelt that wrong, how should it be alex? It's just doldrums, all one word. It was just the idea that it was in some way derived from the words doll and drums that amused me. It's from the area near the Equator where ships used to get stuck because of the lack of wind. No idea what the word is actually derived from though (nowt to do with doll's drums though, I'd guess ). Thank you!

  14. Why dont most people? Nothing to do with hubby anyway, i doubt he even knows, its just routine with me, I always throw bleach down and clean around with the loo brush every morning, only takes a couple minutes. Is that how you do your hair too? joke. Actually for me (and probably alot of woman) its the hair thats takes the longest each day, if i wash it and leave it, it drys quite wavy. Then i get pissed off with it like that so some days i have to dry it, then straighten it, which takes about an hour. Half the time i just tie it up!!! Aye I know what you mean, straightening takes wor lass ages. I insist on it mind else theres nowt the matter! Hubby prefers my hair long and wavy though, he says its SEXY I prefer it straight, though im sick of burning myself on my GHD's
  15. No, but hubby does sometimes I wont use it untill i've cleaned it

  18. Bliidy hell, i wasnt going to bother posting in this thread but think I'd better incase people think im dirty Shower each morning and normally a soak in the bath before bed. Clean underwear everyday, plus if im going out in the evening i have another shower after tea and fresh undies of course! (else theres no point in showering) Clean top each day and i would wear jeans 2 or maybe 3 times. I cook decent meals inc fresh veggies most nights and wash my hands after using the loo. I bleach the bathroom sink and toilet everyday (inc the loo floor incase of splashes) I am indeed a saint!!
  19. How about Renee and Renata? too? My 'lovey' CD would include... Athlete-street map. Wires U2-One. Luminous times. Original of the species Floyd-Hey you Muse-Unintended. Endlessly Johnny Cash-Hurt Nick Cave-Into my arms. He wants you. Are you the one that ive been waiting for Led Zep-Since I've been loving you. All of my love Paul Weller-You do something to me Radiohead-Creep Anything by Sigur Ros
  20. I love the idea of compiling special songs for your lady, but honestly, that medley would have me slashing my wrists and begging for mercy Theyre so dated, cant you find some more up to date love songs?

  22. Did you enjoy it? My son has only been there just over a month, but has already gone down 2 trouser sizes He says he feels fitter and fitter everyday! Aye I did for a while. Was meant to be a stop gap job but it ended up that easy and at first finishing at lunchtime everyday was great. However after a few years of doing the same repetitive thing day after day I began to get bored of it and needed something more challenging so went back into education. At times I miss it, however with the weather just now I certainly do not. I was lucky as well living in a small town near Loch Lomond I generally dealt with alot of people I knew and was lucky enough not to have "neds chasing their Giros". Being out in the sticks we also had bikes... well you know how i loved it around Loch Lomond. My son is based in Dawlish, there they use bikes too, my son says they are archaic (sp) Lately he's been using his car, that helps at the start of the week when the bags are so heavy. Still, the moneys not bad for down here, and will hopefully help him buy his first house.
