  3. Stevie try to not take this as a attack (which you often do) but why when anyone has a different opinion from yourself do you have to resort to the same thing over and over again saying that the majority is clueless and calling them cunts and wankers. You have stated before that you are only expressing an opinion, yes of course which you are entitled too, but so are others. Chill out mate...
  4. FollowFollow Are you a member on there? No I don't have an SPL team, strictly a Tartan Army man...
  5. Whats up? Did a cat eat your student loan form?
  6. Newcastle's non-internationals are playing Rangers this afternoon in a behind-closed-doors friendly at St. James' Park. The Rangers' official site reported: Rangers will take on Newcastle United in a closed door friendly to give match action to the fringe stars. Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall are utilising the international break to get some game time for players who have not been able to get regular first team football recently. Thomas Buffel and Ugo Ehiogu will play against the Magpies to maintain their momentum after returning from long-term injuries. Charlie Adam, Amdy Faye, Alan Gow, Kirk Broadfoot and Chris Burke will also play in the match and the squad will be fleshed out with some of the younger reserve players like Dean Furman, Jordan McMillan and Paul Emslie. McDowall said: "It's a good opportunity for us to give match action to the lads who have been on the fringe recently. "It will be a good game because Newcastle are using the game for the same purpose and, of course, the facilities at St James's Park are superb." Meanwhile, boss Walter Smith is hoping that all of his international stars will return unscathed as they attempt to bounce back from Saturday's Hibs defeat. He said: "We have a number of players away on international duty and we hope that they will all return unscathed and ready for the game against Celtic. "We have to hope that the Hibs defeat was just a set back. You are going to suffer them over the course of a season but it's never good when you get one. "You don't just form a team and walk onto a pitch and win a game. There are aspects we have to look at before you get everything settled down." News of this when we get it.
  7. Premiership footballers who agreed to donate a day's wages to a nurses' hardship fund have coughed up less than a third of the money, organisers say. Five months ago, 255 players promised to make donations to the May Day for Nurses appeal. Big names, including Steven Gerrard and Thierry Henry, agreed to participate. More than ÂŁ750,000 was pledged but just ÂŁ200,000 has so far been collected. Organisers have refused to name those who have yet to pay their contribution. The idea behind the hardship fund was that well-paid footballers would give up a day's pay in order to help hard-up nurses. Now, in October, with just ÂŁ200,000 collected, there is no indication as to whether the full amount will turn up. But appeal organiser Dr Noreena Hertz says she is confident the players will all pay up. She told BBC News: "The campaign was launched right at the end of the football season so the poor Royal College of Nursing then had to go and track down players and clubs during the holidays and when the clubs were touring." She said players should be given until Christmas to pay. Managers, including Sir Alex Ferguson and Sam Allardyce, and former players, such as Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Le Saux, are also taking part. The money raised will go into a fund administered by the Royal College of Nursing and will be distributed to nurses for things like child care or transport to work.
  8. The flexible working that they are trying to impose is a farce too. Bugger never really knowing week to week which ours you are working. If the bosses have their way workers may turn up for work on a day (say an 8 hour day for example) in which it is quiet and tell them they are only required to work 6 and get sent home early but you then owe them 2 hours when they feel like it.
  9. Aye and I done more graft/work in that job than I do now (and I know for a fact most of the loafers on here) Always makes me laugh seeing people on these forums calling all posties lazy. Pot, kettle and black..
  10. Well, I for one think they're a bit late if they are claiming to protect service. I don't think anyone really cares after the point was crossed that you didn't get your mail until after leaving for work. All of which was agreed by the union. As for closing post offices, I don't think anyone can argue they are shutting profitable offices, that argument has been done to death I think, and won't be changed by striking either. Off topic but that one has always amazed me. People wanting their mail before they leave for work. The reality with that was that within the last 10-15 years the job changed incredibly mainly with the increased popularity in direct mail and also the internet (internet shopping etc has actually had the opposite effect that what had been speculated). Add this to the fact that starting times are made later and later and there are continued job cuts and over the last few years a major change in the deliveries, with what used to be classed a delivery now having another half a delivery added to it and the bosses constantly trying to add even more onto it, it is not possible for everyone to get their mail "first thing". Obviously there will be a start and an end for a delivery route and it is just unfortunate for some that those at the end will get their mail a lot later than those at the start.
  11. Whilst they are trying to look after their own jobs etc they are actually also fighting to retain a level of service. People constantly bitch and whine about getting their mail later well if the top dogs have it their way it you won't be getting it until late morning/afternoon. As well as later deliveries they are cutting jobs, reducing collections and i think its around 2500 closures of post offices. The CWU are not only fighting to look after peoples pay or for pay increases but to also maintain a standard. Yes it can be argued that striking is not the way forward but if it doesn't get challenged many out there who are complaining about the level of service they are currently getting are going to get one hell of a surprise as the standard is only going to get worse.

  17. Aye that Alex Ferguson is clueless I don't think they do make the most of him though. What is the best of him though? I have seen him play through club and country as a lone striker, a support striker and playing from a wide position (in a forward three for example). Again I will state that yes indeed he is a great player and him being a key player, regardless of how many goals etc he has scored, for both club and the English champions kinds blows out the water any arguments that he is not a top player. However I question as to regardless where he plays, if he is not at his very best, why there are always camps declaring hes being played out of position almost as a defence mechanism. I have seen it said for each of those I posted. I am now lost as to what his best position this is, at this rate maybe he should be playing right back.
  18. Its Friday already? I should maybe think about trying to get some work done this week...
  19. Aye that Alex Ferguson is clueless
