LeazesMag replied to Baggio's topic in Newcastle Forum
I just wanted to see if he would admit to being a liar. Turns out he doesn't have it in his locker. No surprise! what I say is true. You're a liar. You backed the spending of Souness and encouraged more right to the end, and disagreed with me when I said he should be sacked for selling good players and wasting lots of money, both on here and on Newcastle Online, and you know it. You could start by admitting that what I have said, which you have rubbished for years [summarised AGAIN earlier this morning] is happening and is about to become even more obvious. I'm happy to start again with you, but it takes 2 to tango, although if you can't even admit that what I have been saying this morning for the umpteenth time is actually happening, it doesn't bode well. You say I come on here on monday and make a series of posts, but you don't mention juvenile remarks you make on here when you see me log in ? -

Llambias said in a recent interview that top 8 will still be the plan next season, I think it's a fair enough as cutting a year or 2 out of their plans because we've finished that high already leaves Pardew open to being a victim of his own success. So if we do drop back a place or 2 in the league next season the club are telling him it's okay it isn't OK at all. -

that would only increase the ratio of deluded fuckwits talking shite though. -
slowly slowly ? After a season and a half, we aren't going to see that money, and we never were going to see it, or do you think otherwise ? Is the squad stronger than when we had Andy Carroll? Undoubtedly. Does Ashley stick his hand in his pocket when necessary? See Pappis Cisse. JawD hit the nail on the head when he said some people are more interested in hating Mike Ashley than supporting Newcastle United. Lets just wait and see eh ?

there are plenty of sensible comments by me in this thread. The only person who engages them is JawD. -

its not really my fault that whenever I say something, about 20 people disagree and demand a reply, or just babble on about nothing in particular. it is though, the refusal of many on here to engage you in any sensible debate is directly attributable to your attitude to others and incessant hammering home off the need for EVERYONE to see that YOU are right. It's beyond a parody now I do engage sensible debate. What you are saying, is I ought to agree with them in order to avoid disagreement with the majority of people. -

I don't follow your misconceptions and misquotes, Fish take note. I have NEVER said that spending big money on players is the ONLY way to do things. As I said, you will NEVER find a post from me that says this, I have however always said that you will never get consistent high league positions, they will not be achieved by selling your best players and withholding the cash from your manager, and that is absolutely correct. It is how football is, and what has always been. The point of the whole direction of this point JawD is that I am also saying this is what the club are doing, they have the money from the sale of Carroll and we could have 4th place nailed on by now if they had spent more of it, especially on a central defender and/or a left back. As things stand, these are the 2 areas that need to be strengthened most, while keeping ALL of our current best players, if the team is going to "progress". The club is in europe next season, it has or had the 14th biggest revenues in world football, and 25m quid from the sale of Carroll still sitting there to be used which is what any big or ambitious club would do to attempt to make this "progress". There is absolutely no excuse for selling any player this summer who is a big player that the manager wants to keep at the club ie for monetary reasons. Do you think this will happen or not ? I really don't see what is difficult about this for people to comprehend, it's simple enough but it seems that only a small number of people grasp this point at the most. LM, if you are 12th today and 11th tomorrow that is progress. If you are 12th today and 6th tomorrow that is better progress. Yes, they could have spent more and aimed higher. But they said after finishing last season, the target this season was for top half. Now, they have exceeded that, but their spend probably reflected that their aim was top half. They said for the following (next) it was then top 8. I assume this may be revisited now we are looking top 6. AP already said they were 2 years ahead of plan. So, if their aim was top half that is still progress just not as fast as it seems you would like it. I am content with that (not thrilled, but content). Its progress, its building, its slower but seems to be more measured. The players seem to be scouted thoroughly to give less risk. The money is there, they could spend it now or later with less risk. I am ok with that so long as I see the progress which at the moment I can. I get what you are saying, you have the money spend it now and progress faster. Show greater ambition. No ambition would surely be to sustain and consolidate, float around just under midway? They do have ambition but it is a slower approach. Btw, you were not misquoted by anyone, it was a direct copy and paste of something you said. As for the do I think a player will be sold, I have said in a few posts now I do. I do think a main player (think Tiote or Ba etc) will be sold. I dont like it, I dont want it, but yes that is what I think will happen. Is it a lack of ambition? Only if they do not use the money. If they sell one for say £15M and bring in two £6M players giving the squad more depth and so long as the quality of those players is better than what we sell, I'll live with it begrudgingly. If they sell one (or more) and bring in lesser quality meaning the first team suffers then I will say it is a bad move. Dont mistake me for someone who thinks MA only does good. I sit back and consider each point on their own merit. Not sit on one side of the fence no matter what. Of course I comprehend your point, but you need to see people have different ways of looking at things. Doesnt mean they are wrong just as they have a different opinion. I don't disagree with you at all. I'm just saying that I now think the club has come to what is in effect a brick wall and they will not attempt to go further. I've said for years this is what would happen and we have now reached that stage, albeit quicker than everybody though, even those who support Ashley. The simple fact is, this season has been their title. They will see it as vindication of their methods, and more than they wanted. I'm not saying its right or wrong from their point of view and never have, just pointing out their limited ambitions. The facts of football life, is if you want to challenge the big boys, you don't sell your best players and withhold the money from your managers. it is as clear as daylight that this is what they are going to do for as long as they own and run this football club. -

it's never too late to address the points I've made for years, which you have rubbished, and admit they have substance, although in my view they are bang on and the good season the club has had, is only going to accelerate that realisation among people. Backing Souness with "more money" right to the end after spending what he had already spent, is what exactly ? Despite disagreeing with me when I had been saying for a long time that enough was enough for him, even though I am quite aware I say they should back the manager ? I also say that there comes a time when you either back or sack and quite firmly said that for him, that time had long gone. Don't lie. Tell the truth. If you want to bang on about "mistruths" etc, plenty of people have attributed comments to me that I have never made, its happening again now and has also happened with regard to non-football issues, for instance people saying I am a member of the BNP when I am not simply on account of supporting sensible immigration, Gejon saying I've been to the pub despite being told I have not [what sort of bloke thinks there is something wrong with going to the pub ?], the difference is it doesn't bother me and I don't whine about it or call for people to be banned. You can engage in constructive debate with me whenever you like, it's up to you if you want to start doing that. -

thats what I like. Someone who likes to dish out flak that can't take it back. Tell Ant to restore the old database, you know you backed Souness with "more money" right to the end. You're supposed to be an accountant aren't you ? How much money do you think they had to give him ? In the meantime, do yourself a favour and try to admit that what I've said for years [repeated again a short while ago this morning] isn't the rubbish you have said it is, then I might find time to have some respect for what knowledge or perception of football that you may have. -
taking the silly exchange with Fish aside, what do you think of the relevant and differing points myself and JawD are making ?

"Back the manager with unlimited funds" Find the quote you lying cunt. "Give him the money and let him build his team" is something entirely different. I definitely said the Chairman should back the manager he appointed. As did you. It's what you harp on about constantly on here, but you're too feeble minded to join the dots and see how ironic your criticism of me saying the same thing is. "Back the manager with unlimited funds." Find it and make me look stupid. Fail to find it and look stupid yourself. You've already had to amend the quote you're attributing to me to make it sound eminently more sensible cos you know I never said what you've been accusing me of saying for years. I'm still waiting though, you parody of a shambles of an utter cunt of a liar. jackanory........etc etc........blah blah blah.........you have had plenty of chances to engage sensible debate with me, including that post you ignored that I pointed out on numerous occasions. The only parody and shambles is you. You post as if you know what you are talking about, but you and your mate mancmag both know fuck all about anything. You don't go to games despite living in the city. You backed the financial backing of Souness despite the amount he wasted right to the very end. At least I realised that they couldn't afford to keep backing him and he had lost the plot, in fact I was one of the first and differed with you on that right to the end too, and you know it. You're a joke. The club is an advertisement vehicle for Sports Direct. This is the plan, and has been for years, they will sell a player if they don't make an operating profit, so long as they can promote the Sports Company with a premiership football club, they are happy. This is the limit of their ambition. I've said this for years, and you and your mate mancmag have rubbished it, and you know it. This season has been great, but its the ultimate because going higher will cost money and they won't gamble on reaching the big money, its easier to sell a good player and withold money from the manager instead. I'm not knocking Mike Ashley for this, its his club and he can do what he likes, I'm just pointing out that it isn't what I want as a supporter, and it isn't what many supporters thought they were getting either when they wanted rid of the old owners, but I said at the time that ambiton wasn't automatic and you should be careful what you wish for. Others might be happy with the clubs limited ambitions on the playing front, but not me. -

what is it that I'm supposed to have said ? That splashing big money isnt always the way and that good deals can be found without doing so? and thats its been Newcastles way too often (to throw money at things) I don't follow your misconceptions and misquotes, Fish take note. I have NEVER said that spending big money on players is the ONLY way to do things. back Souness....let him build his team....blah blah blah...... btw, I've gave up on trying to have a sensible constructive debate with you, but you know the above is true. "Back the manager with unlimited funds" That's the quote I'm looking for, you lying wanker. Take your time. "give him the money". "let him build his team" etc etc etc.... You know this is true. Lying wanker. At least you aren't posting juvenile rubbish, for that we should be grateful. -
as I've said to you too Dave, don't condone one person for "stating things others haven't said" when you and others do exactly the same. In other words, grow up, stop being a hypocrite, and start to read posts properly and listen. You could also tell mancmag and Gemmill to answer my questions, and put their money where their mouths are, but you won't and they won't either. Quote me the post where I've condoned one person for stating things haven't said. Do it now or forever shut up. you've just done it
-
there you go again, making things up about others, which you condemn. You really are a tool aren't you ? Just to summarise though, do you confirm that you are happy with this season and are also happy that money has been pocketed and/or withheld from the manager, rather than attempt to do even better ? Happy with this season? Yes. Happy that money was held back to wait for the right player rather than rushing ahead just to spend the money because we had it? Yes. Im happy with the slowly slowly approach rather than spend any penny we have just because we have it. Seems to be working doesnt it? slowly slowly ? After a season and a half, we aren't going to see that money, and we never were going to see it, or do you think otherwise ?

some people put them into the forum regardless.

1995-96 ? I don't see us in the Champions League 2nd phase yet like, or finishing 4th, 3rd and 5th for 3 seasons in a row, but whatever. I was thinking you were becoming a decent poster tbh, some good comments, some not so good. You'll be back.

you're entitled to your opinion. I will remind you that this is the first decent season in 5 years. An entire century of football and successful clubs showing how it is achieved and sustained says you and the other clowns are wrong. Meanwhile, I hope you are going to castigate people for making up and posting untrue comments about others. I will happily pull people for doing that, the minute you stop. If you persist, I can't very well hold other's to a higher standard now can I? That would be unfair and unlike you, I don't want to be a hypocrite. you tell me I do it but don't tell others that they do it ? I'll let the results and longer term league positions of the club do the talking for me. As always. The first decent season in 5 years, as I said. My overall thoughts on this thread are in post nr 954. What a pity that you can't offer anything constructive in reply, other than such bitterness and sour grapes like others.
