How Newcastle Became Talk Of The Toon
LeazesMag replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Your wrong but its not worth going back and forth over. I would just say your outlook has been consistently gloomy for the last two years while myself and others have pointed out how positive it actually looked. Its time you started believing rather than always putting it off til next year aka Leazes Mag. i'm not wrong. credit where it's due - the coaching staff and the players have surpassed all expectations. they've worked miracles. not even the most optimistic on here predicted us to have the season we're having. i'm not prepared to give ashley much credit yet though. so far the success has been achieved despite his actions rather than because of them. i'll be the first to admit i'm wrong if this season lays the foundations for future success. unlike last summer, i'd like to see us hang on to the core of players that have done so well this season and add to the squad. ashley doing that will go a long way to changing my mind that it wasn't a fluke and that he's serious about the club's future success. you're sounding more like me all the time. Well done. -
winning arguments ? In a few years time, people will be saying that Mike Ashley never had any intention for the club other than running an advertising vehicle for Sports direct, would sell a player to make money rather than compete for the higher places including the higher monies and bigger sponsorships that go with speculating to accumulate on a longer term basis, and the current good season [first in 5 years] will not be built on with an intention to go higher, everything I've been saying for ages which they disagree with. And you say I'm hilarious ?

I pm'd you a few years ago, and you didn't reply. As I said, it was a long time before you decided to start repeating for yourself what you have always said was "rubbish". Still, whatever. I don't take things on here personally on here, and I met a mate of Gary's after the match and wondered if you knew this lad. seriously, this kind of post is why i usually have you on ignore. a made up quote that you decide to attribute to me for no apparent reason. it was around the time you kept accusing me of saying 'anyone was better than fred' (i never said such a thing), that i stopped listening to you. would you engage with someone that continually accused you of saying things you never did despite never finding the evidence o back up the claim? actually, i know the answer to that, you would. this sort of hypocrisy is what stands out a mile. You have spent years saying I have been spouting rubbish, and now you are saying exactly what I have been saying for years. You're completely mad. And you don't even see my attempt to engage in a mature exchange of views with you, I seriously wondered if you had met these guys especially my mate Gary who lives near you and I have known since I was in my late teens. What a waste of time you are, but I won't put you on ignore as basically I think it's childish.
-
blatant wind up attempt. As hypocritical as ever. Thank God you're too mature to let it get to you then... thank God you're too mature to think actually someone is wound up by such shite Keep up the double standards, and practicing what you preach.

because you aren't going to be right for 4 more years. -
No surprise you've replied despite "having him on ignore" which is childish anyway. When will YOU mind you OWN business? I've been telling you for five years that you shouldn't reply unless spoken to. Chum blatant wind up attempt. As hypocritical as ever.
-
careful Dave, you lectured me long enough about hijacking threads etc didn't you ? Nice to see you keeping up the hypocrisy, as well as the tripe.

could be.

Unfortunately Bernard since you seem to know so much about me while I know nothing about you while hiding behind the identity of your new username , I think I'll make use of the functions here and stick you on the ignore list. Nice try for a bite btw. Chomp. which even goes to show most people make a correct statement now and again. What do these people have to hide ? Hilarious. He's posting like nobodies business mind, must have a problem or maybe just taking things a little too seriously.
-
You're quite informed for someone who's only made 20-odd posts ? Sorry, I thought we were doing introductions. I'm Cheyne btw. haha. Hilarious kidda.
-
speak when you are spoken to, and take the advice already given. We don't want people on admin to apply contrasting standards to posters do we ? Shame you don't actually reply to genuine questions when they are put to you in a debateable format mind.
-
You're quite informed for someone who's only made 20-odd posts ? Stop hijacking the thread, this sort of thing is frowned upon. I pm'd this to him a few years ago and he didn't reply, long before he started making posts which essentially echo exactly what I've been saying for years, although he still thinks they are [and therefore his own views now] rubbish. Serious question, I thought I may have met someone who knows him over the weekend, after the game on Monday.
-
Have you taken up spiritualism over the weekend? speak when you are spoken to.
-
thank you for the interesting reply, which was not even directed at you.
-
is your name Marcus ? Or do you know a bloke called Marcus or Gary ?
-
and yet, like others, you can't explain exactly what it is that I've said is "insanity" Not that you, yourself, ever post anything mildly informative or interesting to someone like myself.

I changed that post because I realised it would be interpreted as you have done. I never mentioned ManU, Chelsea or Man City, although Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs are giving it their best shot. That is who I am talking about, and I don't believe there is a "plan" to compete with them at all, and never has been, but we have been there before.............. -

Absolutely agree with that fwiw, and I was going to reference it but felt it deviated too much from the main point I was trying to make. The commercial revenues are genuinely sub-standard 'for a club of our size and stature' [/b] (a context where I'm actually happy to use that particular turn of phrase) and need addressing in the next wave. Theres real scope to increase income there, but again for mainly historical reasons, I dont expect it to shoot us into the same strata as Liverpool, hence the focus will still need to be on the development methods that are working well for us at the moment. In fact unless and until your levels of income are the same as the other 3 species of club mentioned, if you only try and compete with them on a short term spend basis, without trying to turn other factors to your advantage which the rich clubs dont exploit or under exploit, you're basically not working hard enough in the running of your football club in 2012. and see post nr 2 by yourself -

what happened to the 14th biggest revenues in football ? -
We sign those 3 players and we are really looking some side. Completely forget about Marveaux from time to time, will be a massive plus if he manages to stay fit. Looks to have some real quality about him. I doubt he would make the first 11 will all fit but players like him on the bench makes a huge difference when the game isn't going our way. Also will allow us to get some of the young lads out on loan getting some much needed experience. most of us seem to agree that this is what needs to be done now ie keep our best players and continue adding quality to it.

she's nothing special, don't see how she has sold so many records.
