  1. 3 months ago, these posts [from you and others] were proclaiming how we were going to conquer the world for about a fiver.
  2. QFT and after all that time, it stands up, because nobody has yet done better than the hopeless Fred.
  3. Liverpool are going to come massively unstuck this season. They wanted C.L., that was their target after their massive investment. They now have Gerrard coming out saying he would rather win the League Cup than finish 4th, funny that. I hope City batter the scouse cunts tonight I see. If Liverpool finish 6th and we finish 8th, then we have had a better season and have a better future than Liverpool, according to you
  4. Do you believe that strategy was sustainable? Course it wasnt, thats why we ended up with players like Moore,Ramage,Onyewu,Sibierski etc and managers like Souness and Roeder. If it was sustainable we would have carried on signing top notch players and competing at the top, we didnt and it clearly wasnt a sustainable policy 15 years isn't "sustained" ? And the massive growth during that time, the quality of players, the stadiums and competitions we played in, wasn't enjoyable ? What planet do you live on. Only a complete, utter idiot would scorn what happened during that time, unfortunately there are many that do.
  5. Do you believe that strategy was sustainable? 15 years ? How long is "sustainable". What an idiot.
  6. what are you babbling on about, I said I thought the strategy that we employed - that got us nearer the title than Spurs - was a good one to follow. Can't you read ? if you mean we should take a leaf out of Spurs book - and the Halls and Shepherd - by retaining our best players and backing our managers, then that is of course a good strategy, what a shame that your man fails to see this. Why don't you answer my question regarding the clubs potential future ?
  7. you really think ManU haven't backed Alex Ferguson don't you ? You're witterings are the same as the fools who thought Souness ought to continue getting rid of the "bad eggs" because Alex Ferguson did, and it meant he would emerge as the new triumphant and victorious Fergie I'm talking outside Man U,Chelsea and City, none of which compete in the real world due to their wealth. Liverpool have made massive investments this season and stated champions league as success which now looks pretty unlikely. Arsenal and Spurs operate a similar model to each other and both are reasonabley successful. I never mentioned Souness,Bad eggs or Man U. I did mention Spurs, now third, played champions league and Europa league selling players for big money and not spending it all, sadly you didn't adress that point Do you think the Spurs model is a successful one? I'm telling you - for about the 100th time - YOU WILL NOT FIND A POST BY ME ANYWHERE SAYING WE SHOULD BE SPENDING MONEY LIKE CHELSEA OR MAN CITY OR MAN UTD . Does this actually register with you ? Where is the Carroll money ? Why should NUFC, with the 14th biggest revenues in football at the time of Mike Ashley's takeover, need to sell their best players to increase revenues ? What were the revenues of Spurs at that time, were they more than us, or less ? Do you think that Mike Ashley will realise the potential of NUFC and start backing his manager and buying the "trophy signings" which all the successful clubs have to make if they want to make this final jump into the top elite, like the last regime did, I may add ? Will he tell Chelsea to fuck off if they bid for Tiote, or someone else for Krul, Ba etc, like Spurs did regarding Modric ? We are a much bigger club than Spurs chum, providing our owners realise it. I think the NUFC model which qualified for europe and the Champions League, more than any club bar 4 during a 15 year period, from a starting point of one foot in the 3rd division and a half empty cow shed of a stadium, is a successful model to follow, would you like to know how they did it ?
  8. I do, and I will. Liverpools transfer policy is superior to ours, and has been for decades apart from 1992-2007 when we attempted to do it like they do. Strange that isn't it, bearing in mind it was our best period by far in the last 50 years ?
  9. you really think ManU haven't backed Alex Ferguson don't you ? You're witterings are the same as the fools who thought Souness ought to continue getting rid of the "bad eggs" because Alex Ferguson did, and it meant he would emerge as the new triumphant and victorious Fergie
  10. you've waited 4 years for a half decent run Baggy, to say all of this. You're setting yourself up for a mighty fall. When it comes, I hope you don't run off sulking and crying or getting a strop on again. Learn from your mistakes, football is not about winning a few games, its about doing things in a certain way, and that means keeping your best players, and allowing your manager to run the club and backing him with the funds he needs, not diverting transfer funds elsewhere, and showing the ambition to fulfill the potential of the club [which I suspect Ashley doesn't understand anyway and doesn't help at all]. He will NEVER match the previous regime, remember those who said "anybody could do better than this", so often ? Laughable. Yet we're miles better off on an off the pitch than the mess we were in when he bought us. The best bit is you know it too. we are not, the ambitions and expectations have been lowered, successfully too if people like you are the guide, and the club has sown the seeds of longer term decline, and need to sell quickly to someone who has real footballing ambitions that understands how big a club this is to stop it.
  11. no idea, I've got her birthday before that too, and have no idea what to get for either. Valentines Day is the easier of the 2 mind.
  12. Quite amazing that after 4 years of getting nowhere near the old regime, including a relegation, there are people who STILL don't realise how big a club NUFC are and how they should operate and what ambitions they ought to have. Their irrational hatred of the only good directors we have had in over 50 years, including ridiculing and dismissing all the great players they signed, the great stadiums we played in and the great clubs we competed alongside during that time, is incredibly short sighted and totally braindead.
  13. rubbish. Fred wasn't the manager or the owner by the way, and if he had been the manager, then qualifying for europe more than any club bar 4 in 15 years isn't too bad It means he bought Bellamy, Robert, Speed, Dyer, Hamman, Solano, Given, Woodgate, Jenas, etc etc etc ......match that then Mikey baby He sold them all too apart from Given and Dyer. Selling our best players eh? No wonder we dropped like a stone when he cashed in on them all. players come and go, but you either back your manager or don't. Mike Ashley does not, the previous regime [and all the successful clubs ever since football began] did.
  14. rubbish. Fred wasn't the manager or the owner by the way, and if he had been the manager, then qualifying for europe more than any club bar 4 in 15 years isn't too bad It means he bought Bellamy, Robert, Speed, Dyer, Hamman, Solano, Given, Woodgate, Jenas, etc etc etc ......match that then Mikey baby You are right Leazes it is rubbish. I've had time to reflect and Shearer would probably cost £80million. Of course spending our entire turnover by breaking the world transfer record is exactly the kind of thing Mike Ashley should be doing. Quite how we would pay his wages who knows, I guess we could re-mortgage the stadium.. again. I'm pleased you agree. You obviously know absolutely nothing about the club, and the decades previous to 1992 to appreciate what happened to the club in those 15 years. You think that Shearer was a waste of money ? Fuck me sideways. See my previous post to Craig.
  15. clubs like Sheff Wed [outstanding example, the very place which prompted the report in the first place] have progressed on and off the pitch just like we did, didn't they ? Fact is Craig, without the Halls and Shepherd, we would have had gone the way of Sheff Wed, we were already almost there when they took over, and the Taylor report didn't force them to rebuild their stadium and club. Mike Ashley has taken over one of the top football clubs in the country, and europe, courtesy of the previous regime, and he doesn't have the ambition to fulfill it and is wasting it.
  16. how were we run when we jumped from one foot in the 3rd division, with a cow shed of a stadium, half full, and not able to float for 1.25m quid and ended up one of the biggest clubs in europe with one of the best grounds, full every game, and the 14th biggest revenues in football ? It was ran similar to how Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs are now, we bought mostly with profits the club made as well as £40 million in the bank as part of a deal when the club became a PLC. so what has Mikey boy done wrong, surely he had a "plan", and any plan would be better than the hopeless Fred ?
  17. you've waited 4 years for a half decent run Baggy, to say all of this. You're setting yourself up for a mighty fall. When it comes, I hope you don't run off sulking and crying or getting a strop on again. 19. how were we run when we jumped from one foot in the 3rd division, with a cow shed of a stadium, half full, and not able to float for 1.25m quid and ended up one of the biggest clubs in europe with one of the best grounds, full every game, and the 14th biggest revenues in football ?
  20. and its how we did it [ie keep our best players, and back our managers] when we were also in the Champions League. Correct? It's the way we're doing it now too, we're living within our means and pushing forward that way. Yes we've sold a few of our better players in but so have the clubs above, yet we're still moving forward despite this. why don't you answer brummiemag, he asks if you think Mike Ashley will reach out for the final players ie the "trophy players" or sit back looking upwards at them when we start to go downwards again ? I know the answer to that one, so how come you don't ?
  21. successful clubs back their managers. If you don't do that, then you have NO chance ie if you don't take a shot, you don't score a goal, that sort of approach......
  22. Priceless. Please tell me how often we finished above Liverpool in the last 50 years and who ran the club when we did it ? Please tell me when you next expect this to happen ? Please tell me how everybody who spends money is "like Leeds" [the biggest laugh of all] Oh, by the way chum, Shepherd never owned the club. Just thought I'd mention it, as you appear to think he did.
  23. are you still moaning on and repeating what I told you years ago, despite disagreeing with me massively at the time ?
  24. in that case, fasten your belt and look forward to the Nou camp and San Siro again. i think not. That doesn't even make any sense. We can't compete with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool who have been bankrolled with large amounts recently and we can't compete with Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs who make good profits that they use to push forward. If you think differently then please tell us how to do it. eh ? Where is the Carroll cash ? How have Spurs overtaken us ? We finished above Arsenal and Liverpool on occasions during the past regime ? We also beat one of the bankrolled clubs ? How did they do all this, by sellng their best players and not backing their manager, or keeping their best players and backing their managers ?
