  1. this is what the softies are already pointing out. I agree with the rest of your comments Alex. And a rising population isn't helping much. It's a fair point though, imo. Without getting too cliched they are the future. Writing them off will cause more problems for society in the long run. These in turn will create social and financial costs for the rest of society to bear at a later date. not saying I trust IDS [because I don't trust any Tory or most politicians] but the bigger picture is about setting responsibilties. Unfortunately, some kids will suffer, but nothing is perfect. As things stand, the system isn't right and encourages far more who know there is no point in them working. 26k a year equates to 35k a year before offtakes, apparently, thats a huge amount, far more than the average wage worker earns, clearly wrong. And it encourages foreigners to take advantage too. We need to stop all of this, seriously. For the future of the country. The young uns in the country won't get pensions etc by the time they are older, they will nothing for paying into the country, its all a massive drain, there will be no money left. How many people on here, under 30 for instance, are contributing to a pensions plan or savings to look towards the future ?
  2. would - correctly - impact a lot more if the cap was lower, and didn't dish it out to any Tom, Dick and Harry who fancied living here too.
  3. The one thing that worries me is the kids'll inevitably suffer. But then again, it's their fucking parents fault anyway. And if they're prepared to have kids they can't support then they're probably already suffering. this is what the softies are already pointing out. I agree with the rest of your comments Alex. And a rising population isn't helping much.
  4. if you don't take a shot, you won't score a goal. Doubt they'd have the financial means to do that though. Where would the money come from? where did the 14th biggest revenues in football come from ?
  5. 5th most qualified for europe and the Champions League in 15 years, 5th highest average league position in 15 years, transforming the club from one that couldn't raise 1.2m quid into the 14th biggest revenues in football, from a club with one foot in the 3rd division into one of the biggest clubs in europe, signing the world record transfer player......justifies the transfer policy they employed, wouldn't you agree ? PS. Shepherd never owned the club by the way. Just thought I'd point that out, in case you didn't know. Why do you believe that is significant in any way ??? it wasn't and isn't me who quotes "Shepherd" in the singular constantly, betraying their irrational hatred. I prefer to discuss the heights the club achieved under the previous regime, the highest for 50 years overall. It isn't Shepherds fault that the club is now back to the days of McKeag, Seymour etc. Have you answered those questions you had all weekend to think about yet ?
  6. if you don't take a shot, you won't score a goal. No excuse for selling our best players, and not backing their managers.
  7. quite right, it might not get through, because of the softies and clueless liberals, but it should. No scrounging cunt should get more than 26 grand a year for doing nowt, even that is far too much, especially those who haven't even paid into it. How many million of those are there ? No wonder the country is going bust.
  8. Yeah, cause that never happened under Shepherd.....
  9. Was I wrong to speak ill of your beloved Daily Mail? I expect the board policeman ie Fish, to pick you up for mis-representation here.
  10. same as Swindon fans when they sold us Ben Tozer at the start of soopa Mikes "plan" ? What did they say like? I remember one or two saying he was shit actually Jonny, but I'm sure the likes of CT will back Graham Carr's genius and Mikes "plan" regardless of the overall signing record in the last few years and the numerous duds we have brought into the club.
  11. Proof? There's a difference between their 'Sportsmail Reporter' articles (couple of lines, no quotes) and more legit-looking articles where they've not kept the journo's name anonymous. I'm not basing my disdain for it purely on NUFC-related news, for what it's worth. haha, it's a "fascist" paper ie not a pc correct lunatic sympathiser newspaper, therefore its Sports Coverage is shit
  12. I have a feeling people are missing your point here teccers he has a point ?
  13. I don't know how many times you and others need to be told this. Mike Ashley has NO foresight, and no "plan" to build and aim for such heights. His only aim is to preserve premiership status and own a [supposedly] big football club to enhance his Sports Empire. The days of ambition disappeared 4 years ago when he bought the football club. I understand that you all had got used to ambition, and expected it, but this is a choice, and is made by the owners of football clubs, it is NOT automatic and you were told this for a long time by myself and a few others many years ago. if you don't believe me, because it's me telling you, then believe Kevin Keegan. When exactly will the penny drop with you people ?
  14. Can't it also be argued that players like Duff, Boumsong are marquee signings on inflated wages? Duff by virtue of reputation, Boumsong by virtue of the fee paid? We have, under H&S, spent a lot of money and offered high wages. Often to secure players who who may have chosen the London clubs or Manchester/ Liverpool if it weren't for those deciding factors? I don't believe that we only ever paid over the odds, but I'd say that we did so more than a lot of Premier League clubs in our position. we also got higher positions for the money, much higher and more consistently high positions and european football and champions League. Which is the whole idea, wouldn't you agree ? What makes me laugh about posts like this, is the cherry picking on the presumption that we ought to get every single transfer correct and/or every other club bar NUFC does so. Nobody gets every transfer right, not even Peter Taylor and Brian Clough did that. The overall results of the 2 different strategies are crystal clear.
  15. :icon_lol: you've had all weekend to reply to genuine questions, I'm not surprised in the slightest that you haven't.
  16. Didnt the Mail break the Cissé story first? impossible. It's the mail man, only Louise Taylor's paper is worth reading...
  17. ah what do they know? same as Swindon fans when they sold us Ben Tozer at the start of soopa Mikes "plan" ?
  18. I agree about the need for a balance, there is always a balance and quite often the truth is between 2 extremes, but this talk of happy dressing rooms is just a cliche mate, it's something to hide behind rather than having a top team, its just a consolation because when all is said and done, its a top team that you want, not an average team with a "happy dressing room" because if anything is true of football, its that a winning team is a happy one.
  19. don't you think the squad/team would be better off if he was still here ? This is how you build a squad mate, you build, improve and sell those who fall below the standards, not sell and replace which is what the club is doing now.
  20. 14th biggest revenues in football ? Why do they need more revenue by selling their best players and not backing their manager ? What's gone wrong ? What did you think of Mike Ashley BEFORE the end of the summer deadline, now that you have came to the conclusion he is "recouping" [ie pocketing the cash, and could have saved yourself a lot of bollocks if you had listened to me ages ago] and where is the missing 27m quid of the Carroll cash ?
  21. european football............looked after by the club..........prospects of success because the club backed their managers........??? I would say that, finishing in high league positions, and playing in the Champions League etc etc is indicative of a happy dressing room. Some may disagree, but if anyone thinks you do that without harmony behind the scenes then they are an idiot. Anyway, its quality that counts, until the current regime gets anywhere near the old one, ask yourself a question ..... what would you rather have, the team playing in these competitions or a "happy [speculation only at the moment, 4 players asking to leave in the past year speaks for itself] dressing room" ? This "disruptive influence" is straight out of the bollocks that was said about Bellamy, Tom. He was badly missed, and the vast majority of people latched onto the same sort of delusion regarding Souness and his sales and signings as they show now regarding Ashley.
  22. sigh. You miss the ENTIRE point. You are also stating you have never seen a happier group of players, then say that SIX have asked to leave....4 within the last year. How many asked to leave between 1999 and 2005 ? How many even asked to leave under Souness and Roeder, and why ? dear dear me. Why is there an influx of posters, posting the same sort of crap that people used to post on NO ?
  23. they'll be back. When his luck runs out, and his manager leaves to a big club that backs him, such as Stoke etc.
  24. those who think european places and success is defined by balance sheets have no soul. Genuine football supporters, who put their cash into the club however, are the same as they have always been.
