Gemmill 62966
@The Fish If, for some reason, you wanted to spend more money and you wanted a full size guitar so it lasts him for longer, Faith guitars are good. They're all solid wood, ie bits of wood cut from a tree rather than ply or laminate, which is unusual for the price point, and the brand is the brain child of Patrick James Eggle who's a properly well known UK luthier. They're made in Indonesia but so are most guitars these days so that means nowt in terms of quality. Their parlour guitar has a small body which would be easy for a kid to handle. See link below. Faith Guitars Naked Series Mercury Acoustic in Natural - Andertons Music Co. https://share.google/X3EuLvGz9tWsyZ9uU I've got one of these in the house which actually belongs to my mam, but she gave up trying to learn. It's a nice sounding guitar. Edited November 5 by Gemmill

Andrew 7448
@The Fish Im going to go against the grain here and suggest not an acoustic, unless thats what he wants. If hes interested in music and in playing, get him something that /looks/ like the thing he wants to play. Squier make little strats that are perfectly good etc. They also play lighter than their acoustic counterparts which is good for little hands and I don't personally buy into the prescribed wisdom that you should learn on acoustic first. If he ends up not sticking with it you're going to lose money either way, make it cool and give it the best chance to stick.

Hi playlist are mostly made up of ACDC, Led Zepellin, QOTSA, Queen, The Who, with a bit of Imagine Dragons and Fall Out Boy thrown in as well. Little fucking legend.
Toonpack 15504
If you’ve got a spare couple of hours this is a tremendous interview with David Gilmour, (the superb guitarist one not the fat mackem one) so interesting/fascinating, talks through the recording process through the years, and the associated trials and tribulations, his playing etc etc.

He must be making millions from that YouTube channel now. I've not watched that but I have watched a canny bit of his stuff in the past. He loves an "old man shouts at clouds" run through the latest top ten on Spotify. I've known about his channel for years but he got huge, now has his own Gibson signature guitar, and there was an article in the guardian about him recently. Just found him recently tbh, never was a big youtube watcher until recently, him and Gilmour talking pedals now 😂 Must say Gilmour seems super relaxed in this interview.
