We were staying near Dalkeith and couldn't be harrassed going back into the city to try any others. We we had our tea at the Sun Inn. 2010 Gastropub of the year.... http://www.thesuninnedinburgh.co.uk/index.php It was absolutley heaving in there....but it was excellent. Well worth putting up with the crowds. I didn't see your request for Edinburgh tips, but if I did I would have recommended the Dome. Top place.
