Â The media say it's poor form that Newcastle don't bother with cups or league or pretty much anything, because that's the function of a football club. Sunderland don't receive scorn because while their achievements (or lack thereof) may be similar, and in some cases much better, they're striving for better. This isn't to say they're never going to get better, just that this current iteration of sunderland is some way off. Â To improve on his analogy of twins at the table; sunderland have done a decent drawing and you can see they're trying hard to stay within the lines even if they haven't got it quite right yet, Newcastle on the other hand have coloured half page in blue crayon then got down from the table to watch the washing machine complete it's cycle. Don't see what they can do about that apart from winning the cup this season, and let's face even before the weekend they had a far better chance of doing that than we did so he should just wind his fuckin neck in.
