Yeah I'm certain Salah is a good player. It's just the way they do it though, Liverpool scouted him for three months and Chelsea get wind of it before asking to be kept up to date on the progress of the deal. Then Liverpool put in an offer and Chelsea just jump in and take him, right at the last minute.

EDIT - which also renders all the time, money and effort that Liverpool have spent working out if this guy is right for the team, how to integrate him etc, utterly wasted. And thus prevents them finding as good a replacement in time.

Wouldn't suprise me if the clubs had good spies following scouts from other cubs around

They have gone after players that their immediate rivals have been scouting for a long time it seems.

Another player in it for the cash either way, not the kind of player a club looking to challange the top 4 needs, and he'll never get a game at chelsea either he's an 11m injury backup after getting rid of mata and debruyne

All the more reason it looks like a Liverpool sabotage.

Not sure about that, he apparently wanted to go to Liverpool for that exact reason. But Chelsea offered more, it's not like Basel were going to take Liverpool's £9-10m over Chelsea's £11m+add ons.

He said this last year too I think, after all of our strengthening. Basically, teams that played Man Utd for the second time in the season before the window are not playing the same team as the ones who play them later. Man U strengthen and become a bigger challenge for those that follow.

I'm not saying it's a good argument, but he's basically saying that Chelsea are using the transfer window to tactically reinforce other teams in order to improve their chances of taking points of Arsenal/City. Hence his comment about the deal not going through until after Chelsea played Man U.

Yeah, of course he's pushing for the january transfer window to be abolished but it's the "fairness for everybody" thing that's a bit silly, like Mourinho is somehow breaking the rules. The transfer window is a part of football, of course clubs like Chelsea will act like this. Arsene could as well, probably have, even if Arsenal don't have Chelsea's financial muscles.

EDIT: And let's not forget that Chelsea is letting a very good player go.

Fell out with the special one though and they are getting 37 million for him. No favours really is it?

He's exactly the player ManU don't need right now. A work-shy trick-horse who dissapears for long parts of the game and can't dominate a midfield. Cracking on his day tho.

Man U need two midfield bosses right now who can get about for 90min and have decent passing and game intelligence. Not Mata. Mata thrives in a team that has the midfield locked out...Not ManU.

They've been looking at Strootman for yonks (box to box with engine). Lars Bender would be good...Big tackle, big engine. Marichisio (would be 40m) or Gundogan would be ideal for the PL.

I suspect they got Moyes as they are trying to do things conservatively and were scared of Mourinho.

Moyes will ruin Mata anyway.

Moyes sides do too much crossing of the shut eyes variety and he has little experience of controlling games and too much of a grinder for me.
