They're both young, left footed, black and born in Kingston. How much more alike can they be!

Sterling a right footer isn't he?

If you are classing Carroll as the last good player to come through then Rolando will have a problem.

One of the only positives to take out of the game, big future until Pardew ruins him.

A small change, but necessary.

"There’s just something about him. I have given a lot of really good players a debut – Jonjo Shelvey, Mark Noble, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain spring to mind – and I would put him in that category, where he is right now but those guys see it through and that’s what he needs to do.

"Fanks to me for giving him his debut."

He worked as an 'impact sub' but I really think he should be starting ahead of Gouffran.

Gouffran is French for silent fart iirc.

Rolando signed a 2 year contract in April. Bearing in mind he is only 18, why so short. Ashley should now give him a new long term contract to vastly increase his wages and increase his transfer potential, which would keep both sides happy. The vultures from Liverpool and Man. City are already hovering.

Think there is rules about U21 and length of contract iirc...

Eh? Is that a new thing like? Thought you could sign a professional contract at 17.

Nothing worse than throwing long contacts at kids. See Shane Ferguson, Harris Vuckic, Bigirimana and Paul Dummett for more details.

Not to mention Ranger. It basically allows them to think they have made it. Pocket money and sleep in the stands ffs.

We need to make sure we get balance right between not losing him and making sure he keeps his feet on the gound and progresses.

It's increasingly difficult to that these days with the wages that are on offer.

Or he could sit tight and move to a big club next summer with less than 12 months left on his contract and get a whopping signing on fee.
