Each to their own. I've used both over the years and find the iPhone more intuitive and cannot get on with an Android. My mate is exactly the opposite. 

The one significant advantage I've found is in providing remote support to my Dad. At least knowing he has exactly the same flavour of OS on his handset, I can easily talk him through what buttons he needs to press. Seriously when I've had a day dealing with dickheads at work and then have the dreaded "Can you help me with this wireless phone thing" phone call, at least I'm safe in the knowledge I'm not going to absolutely lose my shit because he can find the settings button

I'm in town tomorrow so will go have a gander.  The last time I was after a new phone I looked at a Pixel and it felt a little plastic.  That was about 6 years or so now.  Whats this one like?

Pixels are good phones but not cheap anymore unless you get a deal like Gemmills. Should be a quality build. I personally think Samsung Galaxies have the edge over them in most categories but it's close. Just check reviews and go to a shop to hold them to get a feel. Had my ultra for a week and it's the best phone I've ever had, as was the last one, the one before that, and the one before that...

 

Fuck me, just realised this is my 8th smartphone. 2 Apples, 3 HTCs, and now 3 Samsungs. Christ knows how many mobiles before that as well, used to change annually in the early days.
