She doesnt. Tried to resign early yesterday apparently but the men in suits said she had to secure the ship first. That means getting the government in place, the queens speech through and the Brexit talks underway.

Leadership campaign will take place in the summer.

Big question now is what more can Labour now do to be in with a chance when the next election comes.

Its one thing performing well against low expectations but quite something else to get all those extra seats needed to obtain a majority. Especially when it's a given that the next Tory manifesto will be a vast improvement on the last.

One very angry Tory MP today commenting on all the bad stuff for pensioners, "The only thing missing was compulsory euthanasia for the over 70's".

IMO, Labour need to bring centrists back into the fold. They're out of touch but far more credible than anything the Tories have. Corbyn backed by Miliband, Cooper and Benn would be strong.

Secondly they need to throw resources at seats like Rudd's. If they put no effort into that at all, and still nearly won it, then it has to be a target next time.

Finally, they need to get Scotland in order. The Tory seats have to either swing back to the SNP, or go to Labour outright. Ideally the latter.

Not impossible by any means, but it relies on the centrists coming on board. They'll have more influence that way anyhow.

They also need to ask Blair to come out and say Labour under Corbyn is a disaster again. That will have helped.

The scots voted SNP in 2015 because they offered an anti austerity argument and they lost faith with miliband who was basically Tory lite.

this time around, they voted Tory, partially because of Ruth Davidson, and because they didn't want another Indy referendum. Labour have got to own Scotland again. It'll be key in the next election. I think you're absolutely right about Corbyn having to reach out to the big beasts in the party. Get David as well as Ed miliband back in the mix, Cooper, benn, Umuna - and suddenly labour looks credible beyond  the disenfranchised and the Corbynites.

We could dye Susan Calman's hair a bit darker and see if we can get away with persuading people it's her and she's defected.

So we're going to have a change of PM slap bang in the middle of Brexit negotiations? That should really help things.

Hung parliment was a perfect excuse for a different party to prop them up on condition of a second referendum. Fucked it

It's not over yet. The Tories can't deliver hard Brexit with the DUP and even if they could, they'd have to survive first. We may well lose the battle on the EU but I don't think our last chance for averting it has past yet.

Only need a 20+ seat swing for a labour led progressive coalition of chaos. Not unthinkable. A lot will depend on who replaces May and whether Corbyn can rally the big beast blairites around him

To win the argument we need to be more decisive than that. He needs a majority.

This is just perfect

May in bed with terrorist sympathisers - check.

Coalition of chaos - check

Weak and wobbly - check.

She may now have outdone Cameron as the worst PM in history.

Jezza on Andrew Marr show. He's even won me over. All labour need to do in the near future is sit back with popcorn and watch the Tories self destruct. Incredible. Imagine this 3 weeks ago.

He reached out to the centrists as well. I really fucking hope they take him up on it. Labour uniting now would be a powerful statement in the face of what the Tories are saying.

You would hope that both the career politicians and those with some semblance of a soul left will see what an opportunity this is.

On the other hand, McDonnell has just come out and said Labour won't stay in the single market and that the team won't change much...
