....because Lee Charnley.

It bears repeating like, Lee Charnley is nowhere near qualified enough to be running a business the size of NUFC. Would not be a surprise if his incompetence was the issue here.

The police are going to be bemused when they go through his computer records and all they can find is a spreadsheet containing his Minesweeper high scores and a bookmark for https://twitter.com/wendyscam

If it's the French players, we do have a tendency to buy players, not play them, and loan/sell them back. We could be distorting our profits with it somehow, although it wouldn't make any sense unless we were getting a similar amount back I suppose.

We're told today's HMRC raids focus on player transfers between UK & France; image rights, benefits and agent payments. More on #SSNHQ

Hope this is just due to Lee Charnley lying about being 39 on some official document somewhere. Who does he think he's kidding there?

Cabella too but rumour is its French transfer related so could well be

If it's Mondial sports we've done loads of deals with them involved;

Yohan Cabaye, Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Debuchy, Thauvin Florian, Alexsandr Mitrovic, Remy Cabella, Hatem Ben Arfa, Emmanuel Riviere, Henri Saivet,

Saivet has to be dodgy. Signing a defensive midfielder in the middle of a relegation scrap

Riviere can't be a legitimate deal either.  Signing a waiter when we needed a professional footballer.

@GFFN: Breaking | Marseille's ex-board also a target for tax investigation by English & French authorities relating to Newcastle & West Ham. (RTL)

So likely to do with the Thauvin and/or Cabella deals. They did seem dodgy as fuck to be fair, especially the Thauvin one.

I suppose this could be good news if we've only done something wrong in one or both of those deals and it's not an ongoing thing over years and multiple deals,

Payet and Thauvin both went back and forth as well so it makes sense that it be those two transfers.

Marseille the common denominator then...

Chelsea have been asked to provide information as well.
