The other stuff is more for multimedia/gaming types where colours, fidelity, refresh rates etc. will actually make a difference. As long as your laptop has a port that can connect to your new one, you'll be fine. Cheers Andrew. Yeah HDMI is what I’m planning to use. Also, can I buy a wireless mouse that will work on the monitor or does it actually need to be wired to the monitor when using a laptop.

The monitor is just a screen, it can't do any computing on its own. Its just an extension of your laptop so whatever mouse you're using on that will work across both. 1

This bit's confusing me. Are you actually after a monitor that you can connect your laptop to do this charting work, or are you after something independent of your laptop that you can do the charting stuff, like a Surface Studio? Which is basically an all-in-one computer.

My daughter tells me it’s called extending your laptop

The ETFs or the halvening? I’ve no idea mate. On my discord group, the main guy reckons we will see a new BTC ATH in 6-8 months followed by a Bull run high 12 months after. Basically I think it will really start to heat up in April to May when the US is predicted to cut interest rates. Some of the Alts he recommends are going crazy already such as Fideum. Just wish I had more to spend

Aye, I just follow the Guru. Buy when he buys, sell when he sells. Luckily he's pretty good at researching the Alts we are involved in. Christmas Tree 6697
After a second laptop for using when I’m on the sofa and not at my desk. Also don’t want to unplug my current set up when I want to randomly surf. Basically just for surfing, social etc. so no heavy computing required. So not a windows job. Any brand leaders / ones to avoid? Hoping to pay around £300 max’ish

Cheers, just went for another HP Pavillion. Bit better spec than my main one (which has been spot on for two years), so I’ll wire that upto the monitor on the desk and use the old one for the sofa. Christmas Tree 6697
I have one monitor connected to my laptop using the hdmi out port to hdmi in on the monitor. I want add a second monitor and seem to have a few options (although confusing) 1. use a usb-c to hdmi adapter for the 2nd monitor. 2. Buy a monitor that has USB-C input and connect from my USB-C out port. 3. Buy some adaptor that splits / extends my HDMI into 2 Confusions points Some internets places say that if your USB-C port has a lightning symbol it’s good to go. Other places say that’s not the case. Some HDMI splitters / extenders mean the same image on both monitors where as I want different programs running on different screens. I have tried ringing curry’s but the lad had no idea. I had this setup a while back and I used a cheap HDMI splitter off Amazon to get a different screen on each monitor. I'll check my amazon orders and find it. If you search Thunderbolt to hdmi splitter - that's what the lightning bolt means. It's a usb-c connection, but the Thunderbolt functionality is different.
